This Country’s Future Is Going to Hell in a Handbasket

The Bronx brat who purposely dumped acid over a schoolmate’s head…

The gang rape of an 11-year-old girl by “at least 18 boys and young men”

The Spring Break bikini brawler (at Burger King, just to add to the alliteration appeal)…

The college students blatantly having sex at the edge of a USC campus building…

And then there’s a picture I can’t get out of my head… a maturity-stunted young woman, probably around 18, I recently saw on Facebook. She has fairly attractive features, despite the in-your-face attitude written in her eyes and the sardonic curl of just one side of her lips.

But it’s rather difficult to focus on her face, considering that she’s not wearing a top over an abnormally large chest that is, like her attitude, in your face.

The picture is cropped to just below her bust, featuring what I think is a Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Bra, which artificially adds two cup sizes.

(It’s a ridiculous creation… trust me.)

The comments below her profile picture are mostly ones of approval, many from women though a significant amount from men admiring the false but still sexy front.

As I stare at her, I can’t help but think that this is what the younger generation is contributing to society. Not advances in medicine or literature, or positive foreign policy. Just acts of violence and depravity and childishness and selfishness that ultimately don’t do them or anybody around them any good.

It’s a sad commentary on who they are and what they’re striving to be. And it’s a sad commentary on where they’re taking us as a nation… to hell in a handbasket.
