America’s Failings Might Be Its Saving Grace This Time Around

Let’s face the facts.

Too many Americans are pathetic, self-serving, self-seeking, lazy, whiny brats who think they deserve everything they want just because they exist. Clearly, this means they’re not grounded in reality or, for that matter, any kind of desirable belief system.

That’s not the American spirit, of course. It isn’t what made this nation great. But it is human nature, especially when fostered inappropriately through godless educational lessons and a media that preaches instant gratification and shallow desires.

That’s why we have grownups with the maturity level of a thirteen-year-old in the ravages of puberty and the reasoning skills of an infant. Like Terrell Owens or T.O., as he’s more commonly known… the talented but spoiled football player who every team wants until they actually have him.

He’s apparently crying – literally – about how he doesn’t make any money when he isn’t actually playing. “Football season is on a standstill,” he said on his VH1 reality show, “so I have no income at this point. On top of that, you’re talking about the mortgage of all the real estate that I do have. And on top of that, child support.”

Waah. Waah. Waah. The man makes millions every year.

Fortunately, there’s a silver lining to this epidemic of pointless losers. Precisely because far too many people don’t look further than their own personal bubble, liberals are going to have a difficult if not disastrous election season next year.

The economy is in shambles, national morale is nose diving and the situation seems to be going from bad to worse. That’s on a global scale, as well as a national one, according to the World Economic Forum, which bumped the U.S. down a notch to fifth place in its global ranking of competitive economies

We can argue until the cows come home whether this is Obama’s fault or his predecessor’s (even though it’s clearly Obama’s), but in today’s egocentric society, that really doesn’t matter when it comes down to election day 2012.

What does is that people don’t like where they’re at.

It’s already showing in the latest poll numbers, where Obama comes in at a mere 41% approval rating, even with massive media support. And unless Obama does a complete 180 degree turn, that number probably isn’t going anywhere but further down.

Hey, he who lives by the egocentricity dies by the egocentricity. It’s the circle of life, baby, and right now, that circle is a beautiful thing.
