A Quick Note About Tropical Storm Sandy

With people dead, homes flooded and burned down, and entire families living out of schools and other makeshift shelters, today really isn’t the kind of day to talk politics.

So all I have to say at this time is that my prayers are with those up and down the East Coast who are dealing with the aftermaths of Tropical Storm Sandy.

And may God bless the U.S.A.

"The Children of the Future" Think Romney Makes a Horrid President… But the Adults of the Present Know Obama Does

“The children of the future” are speaking out in a new campaign video, and they’re “kinda blaming you” for successfully voting Mitt Romney in as President of the United States.

Singing with blank expressions, they ask us all to “imagine an America where strip mines are fun and free, where gays can be fixed and sick people just die and oil fills the sea.”

This America allegedly has “endless wars” and a “sacked” Big Bird. “The Earth is cracked and the atmosphere is frying,” and we’re actively trying to kill “all the polar bears.” Parks are closed, the air is poisoned, homes are foreclosed and the rich get special government perks.

The song closes with this:

It’s a little awkward to tell you
But you left us holding the bag
When we look around
The place is all dumbed down
And the long term’s kind of a drag

We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And yeah, we’re blaming you

You did your best
You failed the test

Mom and Dad, we’re blaming you

The melodramatic and unsupportable postulating is bad enough, and the sophomoric rhyming certainly doesn’t make it any better.

But the biggest factor against the video is that America already has record numbers of foreclosed homes. It’s already hideously dumbed down, as evidenced by the “Obama Phone” lady, a real woman who is supporting the President’s re-election efforts just because he’s giving away “free” cell phones. Further proof of our intellectual deficiencies can be found in those emotionally stunted miscreants who are vandalizing property of supposed Romney supporters and posting death threats on Twitter against the candidate himself because the Republican would “ban tampons” if elected.

And that’s not to mention the nation’s monumental debt… or our prolonged, miserable unemployment situation … or our diminished status around the world, where terrorists know they can take their time leisurely stalking, torturing and murdering our ambassadorial staff without having to worry about any real repercussions.

In other words, Mitt Romney might make a bad president. We won’t know until he’s elected. But regardless of what the ridiculous song says, he can’t possibly be worse than the one we have now.

Snooki Aside, a New Poll Indicates That Women Might Actually Have Brains

There are a lot of stupid women out there. (Admittedly, there are a lot of stupid men out there too, like landlords who play the “irrational woman” card and tell you to “get help” when you confront them about their blatant non-conformity to Maryland state law that mandates security deposits being returned within 45 days of the tenant moving out. But that’s a whole different story altogether.)

For proof of just how dumb women can be, look no further than The Jersey Shore’s Snooki, who was actually worried about looking good during labor. Yahoo reports:

“Preparing to welcome her son, Lorenzo Dominic, into the world was just like getting ready for a big night out at Karma for Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi. The ‘Jersey Shore’ star revealed on the ‘Today’ show on Wednesday morning that when she gave birth on August 25, she ‘wanted to look good’ while doing it. ‘I even brought heels just in case! But my feet just blew up , I couldn’t’ so she was forced to deliver her so barefoot … like most moms.”

First off, any bad grammar you might have noticed in the above section isn’t mine. It’s all Yahoo and its lackluster editorial staff’s fault. Second of all, I’d ask if Snooki was crazy, but the entire industrialized world knows the answer to that, so why bother?

Along with the entirely pointless Snooki story, Yahoo is also reporting that “Less than two weeks out from Election Day, Republican Mitt Romney has erased President Barack Obama’s 16-point advantage among women” as “a new Associated Press-GfK poll shows.”

It appears that women might very well care about more than free contraception and abortion-on-demand, indicating that we might be something more than just sexual organs.

Shocking, I know. It’s like, omg! We might actually have brains!

Admittedly, the poll also shows that “the president, in turn, has largely eliminated Romney’s edge among men.”

Go ahead and read into that whatever you want to.

Forget Seeing Russia From Our Houses… We’ll Be Russia if Obama Gets Elected Again

With two weeks left to go until America decides the next leader of the free world, President Obama is just now releasing details about what his next term will look like if he’s re-elected.

Two weeks before the elections.

Seriously.

Then again, we don’t really need Obama to tell us what America will look like if he gets control over it for another four years.

All we need to do is look over at Russia... and start leaning Chinese.

My Exhausted Opinion of Last Night’s Presidential Debate

After practically two weeks of intense insomnia, I didn’t watch last night’s presidential debate.

Even without my prolonged lack of rest, I actually had every intention of seeing it through until about 45 minutes before Romney vs. Obama round III started. That’s when a large, spotted camel cricket jumped out from behind my loveseat in my living room.

I first tried killing it with a small box, but it neatly hopped away, thwarting my efforts to save myself the horrors of having to wonder where the little bugger was. When I finally located it again some five minutes later, it took all I had (i.e. a can of ant and roach Raid) to battle the thing to the death.

Clearly, since I’m writing this, I won; though there were some fairly shaky moments where I wondered if I would be so fortunate. And even as the winner, there was still a price to pay, as I had to leave the room to let the toxic fumes air out.

Well, that pretty much narrowed my options to going outside – with other disgusting camel crickets – or holing myself up inside my bedroom. I chose the latter, and once there, I just couldn’t find the energy to move again.

So I missed the debate.

And honestly? I can’t say that I care.

Yes, I know I’m the girl who’s obsessed with politics, and I usually much prefer to actually be there when the news happens instead of reading about it later. But after over four years of Obama’s campaigning – he really never stopped since 2008 or even 2007 – I’m over this President and anything he has to say short of “I’m sorry”… which will happen just as soon as hell freezes over.

I’m over his pandering and his bullying. I’m over his lies and conceit. I’m over his hypocritical attitude and egotistical obsession with getting his own way.

I’m just over him. And I have a feeling that a large enough part of America agrees with me, regardless of what the media may want to say.

So to me – and I’m assuming many others out there – it doesn’t really matter if Romney performed abysmally or amazingly in the debates.

He isn’t Obama. And sadly, that’s really all that matters at this point.

Chavez in Venezuela, Putin in Russia, and Castro in Cuba All Think Obama Deserves Another Chance

Tonight is the third and final presidential debate between incumbent President Barack Hussein Obama (mmm… mmm… mmm…) and challenger Mitt Romney (who doesn’t get any such catchy jingle designed to indoctrinate school children).

And it’s about foreign policy.

Now I could write an extensive blog post about just how far we’ve fallen in our standing in the world. I could detail how, under President Obama, we’ve repeatedly insulted and even intentionally humiliated out allies – from England to Israel to Germany – and coddled our enemies.

I could remind America – as if it’s not still fairly fresh in our minds – that our Libyan ambassador, J. Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans were brutally murdered by terrorists… or that there’s been an increasing number of turncoat attacks by Afghani soldiers and policemen on U.S. troops, their supposed allies… or that since Obama took office, we’ve had a number of terrorist and attempted terrorist attacks inside our own borders.

I could also point out how President Obama has bowed to foreign leader after foreign leader after foreign leader – both literally and figuratively – blatantly demeaning himself, the office he holds and America in general.

But because of the mountain of evidence available proving him an utter failure at foreign policy, it would unfortunately take far too much time to provide supporting links. (Though if you can’t come up with easy examples on your own, try hitting up Google or Bing and see for yourself.)

So I’ll just sum it up a different way.

This is all that needs to be said concerning Obama’s ability to handle this nation on an internal or external level...

Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez, Russia’s Vladimir Putin, and Cuba’s Raul Castro (or at least his daughter) – all human rights-violating dictators in their own ways – supporthis reelection.

All three governments hate America. All three willingly ally with American-hating, freedom-despising countries like Iran. And yet all three are rooting for Obama to continue on as President of the United States.

Need I say more?

I seriously hope not.

Shocker: Hillary Clinton Says Something Intelligent… About Women!

It’s not very often that I agree with Hillary Clinton.

But she must have read my blog yesterday – and even learned a thing or two – considering what she said in a new interview with Marie Claire.

(Just for the record and for anybody who doesn’t have a sense of humor: Yes, I know she didn’t really read my blog post and that the interview was probably actually conducted well before I even thought about writing it.)

“I can’t stand whining,” Clinton is quoted as saying. “I can’t stand the kind of paralysis that some people fall into because they’re not happy with the choices they’ve made. You live in a time when there are endless choices… Money certainly helps, and having that kind of financial privilege goes a long way, but you don’t even have to have money for it. But you have to work on yourself… Do something!”

This was apparently in response to former State Department Director of Policy Planning – Quite the title! – Anne-Marie Slaughter’s comments in her article, “Why Women Still Can’t Have It All,” which was published in the Atlantic over the summer.

Clinton also said that “Some women are not comfortable working at the pace and intensity you have to work at in these jobs… Other women don’t break a sweat… They have four or five, six kids. They’re highly organized. They have very supportive networks.”

While she’s got it all wrong on everything from abortion to staying with one’s husband when he’s an adulterous, unrepentant scumbag, Clinton nailed it this time.

Life is all about choices and personal abilities and learning to take responsibility for your actions, whatever they happen to be. It’s about understanding that every opportunity comes with its own special balance of risks and rewards…

If you’re going to shoot for President of the United States – as a man or a woman – understand that your family life is automatically going to suffer as a result. If you take on the position of CEO of any company, much less a big one, recognize that your social abilities might be cut in half. If you want to stay at home with the children, know that you might sometimes wonder what it’s like to have a paid career of your own.

Life is about giving and taking, which means that there is no such thing as having it all. Not for women. Not for men. Not for anybody.

And the longer we try deluding ourselves into thinking that reality here on this earth can be so cozy, the longer we’re going to keep making unhappy fools of ourselves as we pine away for a utopia that isn’t achievable.

Romney Did Make Sexist Comments During the Presidential Debates… But They Had Nothing to Do With Binders

Yesterday, my Facebook homepage had more than one strange status concerning binders.

One in particular read: “I bet Romney has binders full of jeggings, too.”

What that meant, I initially had no idea. Sure, like so many other Americans, I had watched the debates the previous night. But I couldn’t remember a single mention of jeggings – or anything even closely related to such atrocious fashion concepts – from either candidate.

It wasn’t until several hours later that I heard someone explain what the big deal was. And while it had nothing do with the unholy union of leggings and jeans, it was hands-down just as stupid.

Apparently, the left is trying to make a big deal out of Mitt Romney’s reference to receiving a binder full of female applicants. Taken by itself, maybe – Maybe! – some deranged lunatic prematurely released from an insane asylum might take that as a sexist statement. Maybe.

(Though personally, I have more faith in the intellectual integrity of deranged lunatics prematurely released from insane asylums. It’s just sad I can’t say the same for liberals.)

But in the larger context of Romney’s speech, it was foolproof-obvious that he was referencing his efforts to include females in his cabinet after becoming governor of Massachusetts.

Now, I have to say, as a woman, I did take issue with Romney’s comments. But since I’m also intelligent, self-respecting and independent, my objection had nothing to do with binders and everything to do with the absurd notion – which he genuinely seemed to believe – that not only are women an absolute necessity in getting a job done, but that we also deserve special treatment.

What Romney Really Said

Here’s what he said, as transcribed by Fox News (Yes, Fox News. Get over it.):

“Thank you. An important topic, and one which I learned a great deal about, particularly as I was serving as governor of my state, because I had the chance to pull together a cabinet and all the applicants seemed to be men.

“And I – and I went to my staff, and I said, ‘How come all the people for these jobs are – are all men?’ They said, ‘Well, these are the people that have the qualifications.’ And I said, ‘Well, gosh, can't we – can't we find some – some women that are also qualified?’

“And – and so we – we took a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet.

“I went to a number of women's groups and said, ‘Can you help us find folks,’ and they brought us whole binders full of women. [There’s that innocuous binders comment.]

“I was proud of the fact that after I staffed my Cabinet and my senior staff, that the University of New York in Albany did a survey of all 50 states, and concluded that mine had more women in senior leadership positions than any other state in America.

“Now one of the reasons I was able to get so many good women to be part of that team was because of our recruiting effort. But number two, because I recognized that if you're going to have women in the workforce that sometimes you need to be more flexible. My chief of staff, for instance, had two kids that were still in school.

“She said, I can't be here until 7 or 8 o'clock at night. I need to be able to get home at 5 o'clock so I can be there for making dinner for my kids and being with them when they get home from school. So we said fine. Let's have a flexible schedule so you can have hours that work for you.

“We're going to have to have employers in the new economy, in the economy I'm going to bring to play, that are going to be so anxious to get good workers they're going to be anxious to hire women. In the in the last [four years] women have lost 580,000 jobs. That's the net of what's happened in the last four years. We're still down 580,000 jobs. I mentioned 3 1/2 million women, more now in poverty than four years ago.

“What we can do to help young women and women of all ages is to have a strong economy, so strong that employers that are looking to find good employees and bringing them into their workforce and adapting to a flexible work schedule that gives women opportunities that they would otherwise not be able to afford.”

Ummmm… Say what, Mr. Romney?

Women Deserve to Be Treated As Equals... Not Charity Cases

I could easily make a brilliant argument for why women should be treated as equals instead of given special accommodations when doing the same exact job as their male counterparts. But instead, I’m just going to give you a fun, little insight into my snarky, non-blogging world.

Below, you’ll find another transcript, this time of my Skype conversation with a friend during the debate. In her defense, she was working on a paper for a post-post-graduate course, and therefore can’t be blamed for any bad grammar or spelling. I on the other, have no such excuse…
                        _____________________________________________________

Jeannette: Oh now some dumb young female is boo-hooing about the inequality of female work wages, with her question directed at Obama. Has she been alive for the last four years? Does she realize that her gender has suffered equally IF NOT WORSE under this CURRENT president?

CBW: Apparently not when he smiles at her and gazes into her eyes

Jeannette: Apparently not. Also, I'm sorry, but when women are in the top echelons of politics, CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, doctors, deans of entire universities, etc., the “plight of the poor oppressed female worker” just isn't the issue that it used to be.

CBW: How 1970's of her

Jeannette: Also, Romney is not answering this question the way that I would prefer him to. Yes, let's go out of our way to find females to fill office positions when no females actually ever applied in the first place, and let's give them special perks because they might be mothers when the men don't get those same special perks even though they might be fathers.

CBW: Ewww. Don't like that

Jeannette: Mr. Romney, Mr. Obama, stupid, over-priveleged, under-intelligent white girl... Women should be treated as equals!

CBW: Otherwise they use their boobs NOT their brains to do work

Jeannette: Precisely! If you want a government job, understand that the work hours might not be 9-5. This is just common sense.

CBW: Come on! Look at Piper Peribo in Covert Affairs
_____________________________________________________

Clearly, my friend has the same sense of humor that I do. (Because I would never willingly associate with anybody who thinks that Covert Affairs should be taken seriously. Other than my brother, who doesn’t count because he’s family and you can’t choose family.)

Yet even in her sarcasm – also like me – she makes a very good point.

It’s straight-up Hollywood-grade fiction to think that women can properly perform demanding jobs that they’re not willing or able to devote additional time to.

If we can’t keep up physically, mentally, emotionally or in any other way while getting equal pay to execute those duties, then we shouldn’t be keeping them… neither the responsibilities nor the perks.

That’s reality. That’s equality.

Deal with it.

Presidential Debate Number Two Offers the Perfect Line to Sum up the Obama Presidency

At approximately 9:20 pm last night, presidential hopeful Mitt Romney told President Obama “You’ll get your chance in a moment. I’m still speaking.”

There were good lines made by both candidates throughout the night. But it was Romney – with that comment – that really summarized the last three-plus years…

Obama doesn’t give anybody else a chance to speak, stalwartly refusing to listen to any opinion other than his own.

Ever.

He didn’t listen to the American people concerning his signature legislation, Obamacare. He didn’t listen to the American people concerning their opposition to repeated “stimulus” spending and bailouts. He didn’t listen to the American people on race relations or border security.

It’s his way or the highway.

And that’s just unacceptable.

I have to say, it was rather nice hearing somebody finally tell him to shut up and listen to somebody other than himself.

Oh right, and another bit of news that sums up the Obama presidency?

You don’t have to know a single thing about the utterly ridiculous TV show other than that the main focus is a small, spoiled child nicknamed “Honey Boo Boo” to understand that only an uneducated, unthinking, immature child can honestly think that we’re better off today than we were four years ago.

America Has to Face the Possibility of Race Riots if Obama Loses His Re-election Bid

Much like pathetic, immature, sore-loser sports fans (We won’t name any specific ones here, though a few team names will probably instantly pop into your head.), there’s a faction of Obama supporters who are already declaring their intentions to riot should their candidate lose in the upcoming elections.

And sadly, with the elections less than a month away, it’s important to consider that their threats might be serious.

Take the Black Panther’s – who were incidentally never prosecuted – open intimidation of voters in Philadelphia in 2008. Then remember the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin shooting, where random whites suffered repeatedly at the hands of liberal-leaning blacks… the kind of blacks who believe that whites are to blame for all of their troubles.

Really, of course, they’re partially right, if by “whites” they mean light-skinned liberals who treat their darker skinned compatriots as children meant to be coddled and directed, instead of as equals deserving respect and accountability. Liberal blacks, however, are just as guilty, since they were weak enough to let manipulative, condescending liberal whites convince them that they are children.

Clearly, there’s plenty of blame to throw around.

But blame isn’t going to matter much to the ensuing victims if Obama does lose and his least intellectually-developed followers do riot. Blame doesn’t fix smashed in storefronts or mend broken bodies or restore innocence.

So while I’m not predicting anything whatsoever, it doesn’t hurt to be careful as November approaches. Be on your guard and understand that the America that has been fostered by the likes of liberal politicians and educators and philosophers and all-around demagogues is not a safe place.

And it won’t be a safe place again until we start holding everyone accountable based on their actions instead of their race.

In other words, riots or not, Obama needs to go.

Sometimes the Numbers Say It All

English major or not, I’ve always found mathematics – essentially, the study of numbers – to be a fascinating subject. From the value of X to the uses for Pi, even a mathematical dunce like me has to understand the importance of adding two plus two together to always equal four.

(And forget those fantastical deviations of the field that try to claim otherwise. Math is a science, not an art, and therefore isn’t allowed to fudge facts in the same way. Therefore, two plus two always equals four. End of story.)

Similarly, 92% and 74% do not equal the same grade, no matter what the supremely racist Florida State Board of Education might be trying to say.

The Tampa Bay brand of CBS News reports that the board just “passed a revised strategic plan that says that by 2018, it wants 90 percent of Asian students, 88 percent of white students, 81 percent of Hispanics and 74 percent of black students to be reading at or above grade level. For math, the goals are 92 percent of Asian kids to be proficient, whites at 86 percent, Hispanics at 80 percent and blacks at 74 percent” because “not every group is starting from the same point.”

Interpreted more intelligently, it’s easy to conclude that the politicians and administrators who voted this in simply don’t expect too much intellectual ability from certain groups as from others.

In other words, they’re racist. The proof is in the numbers.

The proof is also in the numbers coming out of federal investigations into the misusage of taxpayer funds. The Washington Guardian reports that: “The government’s spending watchdogs have already secured nearly 600 convictions and judgments against people and companies accused of misusing stimulus funds and have a whopping 1,900 investigations currently open into possible wrongdoings.” And this all from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

And how about the numbers involved in the new joint study by the Met Office’s Hadley Centre and the Climatic Research Unit, which show no real rise in global temperatures from early 1997 to at least August 2012? Those seem pretty telling as well, despite the scandal-ridden University of East Anglia’s claims that 15 or 16 years is too short a time period to draw any rational conclusions. I suppose they’d say the same concerning the news that Antarctic sea ice is hitting record highs these days.

Though that’s not to say that numbers are always relevant, particuarly when used by liberals (who misuse just about everything: racial relations, tax-payer funds, scientific data…).

For example, just because two liberals watching the first presidential debates came up with a plan to save Big Bird that has since been named the “Million Muppet March” doesn’t mean that a million muppets will be participating… or even exist, for that matter.

The truth is that numbers don’t lie. But they can certainly be manipulated. Just ask the Obama administration any time that jobs numbers come out.

I Couldnt Watch the Vice Presidential Debates Last Night After a Certain Point

Watching the vice presidential debate last night, I had to press the power button at 9:54, essentially to save my TV from being hurled out the window and my neighbors from having to call 9-1-1 about the obscenities being screamed from next door.

Now I do have to say that I had previously been reading Ann Coulter’s newest book, Mugged, which – while being very informative – is filled with some utterly horrific, real life accounts of women being doused in gasoline and set on fire, policemen being beaten so severely that their eyes are gouged out, and 15-year-old girls being raped… all while liberal media outlets and politicians played the race card.

In other words, I wasn’t in the mood for liberal shenanigans to begin with.

And then the debate began.

At first, watching Joe Biden grin and laugh was just uncomfortably awkward. I’m actually not trying to be funny or even disrespectful when I say that the Vice President looked senile as he projected his disdain at Paul Ryan with far too much enthusiasm.

But then, as the debate progressed onward, with Biden continuously interrupting Ryan, mocking Ryan, laughing disparagingly at Ryan and overall acting like an undisciplined sophomore in an academic class he can’t – or doesn’t want to – force his mind to understand… and with moderator Martha Raddatz allowing Biden to interrupt willy-nilly, interrupting Ryan herself and switching the subject abruptly whenever it suited her purpose…

Well, it really just got too much.

Going into this, I had expected the lies and I had expected the bias. They’re to be expected from leftists intent on their own destructive agenda. But even so, I really thought that I would enjoy it.

However, it became all too clear that the vice presidential debate was not going to be the fun experience I anticipated. Nor was it even a worthwhile exchange of ideas between two opposing intellectuals.

It was just a blatant display of partisanship, egotitism and disrespect… the same exact combination that America has had to put up with for the last three-plus years.

We can only pray that we don’t have to put up with four more.

If I had to guess, I’d say that most moderates and independents left last night’s debate with the same exact thought running through their heads. Because Biden didn’t come across as knowledgeable…

Just dangerously arrogant.

Liberals Getting More Desperate as Election Day 2012 Nears

Can you spell desperate?

Possibly not if you’re an Obama supporter.

That’s really the only conclusion to come to after reading Reuters’ pathetic attempt at spinning President Obama’s Big Bird campaign strategy… a tactic that is quickly become one giant, uncomfortable goose egg among even some loyal liberal flock members.

Not however, for the 78-year-old school bus driver who told a 12-year-old that his mother should have considered abortion because said mom – and dad – have a Romney-Ryan sign in their yard. But that’s the kind of person – right along with DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who doesn’t know that “wrong” and “false” are synonymous – who probably can’t spell desperate.

One has to wonder if Reuters’ staff members can, considering their hopeful speculation:

“The more conspiratorial campaign watchers [i.e. like them] reckon maybe the president’s team must know something Washington does not.

“Perhaps, promising to save Big Bird is a winner among moms. A Pew Research Center survey released this week observed an 18-point swing in Romney’s favor among likely women voters over the course of the last month.

“Maybe, the Obama folks think the only way to bandage the hurt caused by Obama’s weak debate performance is with laughter.

“The winking ad with its knowing use of irony could be a play for young voters, a nudge that says Obama is still the hip politician they knocked on doors for in 2008.

“In a cloudy week where Democrats have formed a search party for silver linings, some hope the Big Bird ad is an attack line that merely hasn’t reached its proper conclusion.”

South Carolina’s Democratic Party Chair Dick Harpootlian, for example, is hoping that the President starts harping on Romney’s supposed enthusiasm (he laughed when mentioning cutting federal funding for PBS) for giving Big Bird the pink slip, pointing out that “There’s nothing funny about firing anybody. Why do you smile when you say you are going to fire somebody?”

But the thing is that Romney never said he was going to fire Big Bird! He simply said that America taxpayers can’t afford to pay for such pet projects … which is the truth, something we’re never going to get out of his political opponent anytime soon, as Pat Smith – who lost her son in the 9/11 embassy attack in Libya – is finding out the hard way.

All we’re going to get from Obama is more notices of real people – not fictitious TV characters – getting  real pink slips. Just ask FedEx employees, who are waiting to hear whether they’re part of the “several thousand” jobs their company has to cut next year due to the poor economy.

The Controversy of Big Bird, the Clear Solution to All of Our Problems

According to his spokespeople at Sesame Street, Big Bird wants out of the political campaign.

As The Wall Street Journal puts it, “Sesame Street isn’t amused. Sesame Workshop, a nonprofit educational organization that produces and owns the show, issued a statement Tuesday saying ‘we do not endorse candidates or participate in political campaigns. We have approved no campaign ads, and as is our general practice, have requested that the ad be taken down.’

“An Obama campaign spokesman, Ben LaBolt, said the campaign is ‘reviewing their concerns.’”

(Rumor is they’re in talks with Big Bird’s imaginary friend, Snuffleupagus, whose nonexistence fits in better with the mindset of the liberal left.)

Meanwhile, Mitt Romney is belittling Obama’s campaign tactics, saying, “You have to scratch your head when the President spends the last week talking about saving Big Bird.” questioning

But what could be more important: Foreign policy? National security? The sorry state of education? A hapless economy?

I think not!

And neither do the good people who’ve taken to Twitter to throw death threats at Mitt Romney.

Who can argue with intellectuals like Haunter, who recently freaked out that “Romney is trying to ban tampons. Omg. I’m not even kidding, someone go with me so we can shoot him dead.” Or LiftedBoy_, who opined, “I crash that f*ck*ng airplane that that f*gg*t n*gg* Romney, stab Mrs. Romney in her G*D D*MN esophagus. & won’t stop until the cops come in.”

Certainly not men like Westgate Resorts founder and CEO David Siegel, who sent a message to all of his employees warning them that since “the economy is falling apart and people like me who made all the right decisions and invested in themselves are being forced to bail out all the people who didn’t,” he’s just going to shut down his business should Obama be re-elected.

And the guys running Darden Restaurants – which owns Olive Garden, Red Lobster and LongHorn Steakhouse – who have cut back on employee hours because of the additional burdens imposed on them by Obamacare? Well what would they know about the measures needed to get this economy ahead? They’re only businesspeople after all!

The same, of course, goes for Wynn Resorts CEO Steve Wynn, who’s not shy about his political leanings these days. “I’ll be damned if I want to have him lecture me about small businesses and jobs,” he declared. “I’m a job creator. Guys like me are job creators and we don’t like having a bull’s eye painted on our back.”

Knowing the all-knowing, all-seeing, all-powerful President Obama, his response to guys like that – and the larger American public – would be “better them than Big Bird.”

President Obama Approves Satirical Big Bird Infused Attack Ad on Mitt Romney

I have to hand it to President Obama’s re-election team. Whoever is in charge of putting his campaign ads together composed quite the creative and even humorous video montage for public viewing.

Even a die-hard, informed anti-Obama voter like me had to smirk in amusement.

The video really has to be watched to be appreciated, but for those of you who can’t, the details are as follows:

After the obligatory, “I’m Barack Obama, and I approve this message,” a picture of Bernie Madoff lingers on the screen as a deep, concerned, male voice says “Bernie Madoff,” then “Ken Lay” and “Dennis Kozlowski” as their pictures appear as well.

The voice continues: “Criminals. Gluttons of greed. And the evil genius who towered over them?”

The camera cuts to a high rise office building, where a strange looking shadow fills one of the highest windows. “One man has the guts to speak his name,” the audience is assured as the clip splices to a two-second clip of Mitt Romney at the recent presidential debates… right as he’s about to say the words “Big Bird.”

This is immediately followed by two other shots of him repeating the Sesame Street character’s name and then Big Bird himself, sounding as innocent as ever, announcing “It’s me. Big bird!”

From there, it’s all shots of Romney and Big Bird, Wall Street signs and Sesame Street signs, while the commanding, melodramatic voice goes on: “Big. Yellow. A menace to our economy. Mitt Romney knows it’s not Wall Street you have to worry about; it’s Sesame Street.”

The Republican presidential candidate is then allowed to say eight more words on his behalf, namely, “I’m going to stop the subsidies to PBS.” But it’s the voice who gets the last say, with “Mitt Romney: Taking on our enemies no matter where they nest,” while the camera lingers on Big Bird snoring obliviously in his giant, twiggy bed.

Like I said, it’s a creative and amusing video at first glance, and even at second. But it’s also not hard to see Obama’s contempt for his political rival throughout the 31-second showing; his arrogance comes through vividly, as does his dangerously lackadaisical attitude towards important issues, such as this nations unsustainable and out-of-control spending habits.

The video is entertaining for what it’s worth, but in an election year where people are really hurting?

That kind of unchecked display of egotism isn’t likely to have much sway.

Joe Biden Takes off Six Days to Prepare for the Thursday Vice Presidential Debates

This Thursday, October 11, is going to be a very fun day.

No, scratch that, because I have no idea how the day is going to go.

But Thursday night? Now that’s another story altogether…

The evening of October 11 is when the vice presidential debates will take place between Joe Biden and Paul Ryan. And the White House has its guy taking off an entire six days to prep for the encounter.

Six days!

That six days is doubtlessly in part due to the last round of debates that took place last week. You know, the one where Obama was declared a pitiful failure.

Yeah, that one.

But even if the President had shined like the rising sun he likes to think himself as, the VP debates would still be a nail-biting event for the Obama administration. Largely because Joe Biden is about as blond as a guy can get.

(Sorry blonds. No offense meant. That was just the most polite description I could come up with.)

From telling a guy in a wheelchair to “Stand up, Chuck! Let everybody see you.” back during the 2008 elections, to admitting during this latest race that the middle class has been hurt severely over the last four years, Joe Biden has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth with a flair of arrogant airheadedness that is practically unimaginable.

The things that come out of his mouth are often so ridiculous that they’re almost unbelievable… as if some screenwriter or novelist wannabe was trying to write a comedic work and went overboard turning one particular character into a raging buffoon.

It’s that bad.

Or that good, depending on your perspective.

For anybody seeking some entertainment on Thursday night, it’s bound to be a bit of both.

So plan to pop some popcorn, grab a soda and kick back on your sofa for a night that’s bound to give any self-respecting comedian material for the rest of the year.

Unemployment Falls Below 8%... and Joe Biden Is a Genius

President Barack Obama might not be able to debate very well (or at all, judging by whom you ask), but when it comes to playing with numbers, there are few who can keep up with him.

The Associated Press reported today that the “U.S. unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent last month, dropping below 8 percent for the first time in nearly four years and giving President Barack Obama a potential boost with the election a month away.

“The rate declined from 8.1 percent because the number of people who said they were employed soared by 873,000 – an encouraging sign for an economy that’s been struggling to create enough jobs.”

To say that’s suspicious – that such commendable numbers get published just two days after Obama received horrible reviews in his first presidential debate against Mitt Romney – is like calling Vice President Joe Biden a little bit stupid: It’s a colossal understatement.

Once again, the President and his administration are proving what they really think of the American people…

And folks? What they think of us is far short of flattering.

The 2012 Presidential Debates: Let the Games Begin!

Last night, sitting President Barack Obama and presidential hopeful Mitt Romney took to the stage for the first presidential debate of 2012.

And Mitt Romney came out swinging.

There was no John McCain deference (i.e. groveling) given, no bending over and taking it. Mitt Romney stood out as a fighter and a leader, his points firm but well-mannered, stately yet entertaining, with zingers like:
  • “I have five boys. I’m used to someone saying something that’s not true over and over again and hoping I’ll believe it.”
  • “Mr. President, as President, you’re entitled to your own airplane and your own house, but not to your own facts.”
  • “You have been president for four years.”

That last one was because Obama more than once talked about societal inequalities as if he didn’t have anything to do with them – as if he’s running for office for the first time instead of sitting in the seat of power trying his best to dictate this nation since 2009.

Anybody watching with any intellectual integrity had to have recognized that Obama lied “over and over again… hoping” that the American people would “believe it.” Yet considering how devoid of intellectual integrity his following is, I can’t understand why last night upset them so.

Sure, Romney came across as a man you wouldn’t really mind running the country, but Obama played his normal cards of misdirection and deceits, which usually besots his base. Not this time though, as some of his most avid supporters have become some of his harshest critics.

Chris Matthews lamented: I don't know what he was doing out there. He had his head down, he was enduring the debate rather than fighting it. Romney, on the other hand, came in with a campaign. He had a plan, he was going to dominate the time, he was going to be aggressive, he was going to push the moderator around, which he did effectively, he was going to relish the evening, enjoying it.”

And the Daily Beast’s Andrew Sullivan was equally harsh: Look: you know how much I love the guy, and you know how much of a high information viewer I am, and I can see the logic of some of Obama's meandering, weak, professorial arguments. But this was a disaster for the president for the key people he needs to reach, and his effete, wonkish lectures may have jolted a lot of independents into giving Romney a second look.”

Again, that’s really nothing new. But if last night’s debates depressed Democrats further than they already are, then I’m not going to argue.

Go Team Romney!

Barack Obama Isn’t Going to Tell You the Truth. But Thanks to Joe Biden and Some Generally Obvious Facts, the Truth Is out There Anyway

Conservative news source The Daily Caller has unearthed a video that might seem shocking to the purposely uninformed, but not to anyone who’s kept their eyes open in the last four years.

In the video, shot back in 2007, then Senator Obama is addressing a largely African American crowd that’s cheering him on while he accuses the government of treating blacks as second class citizens and whites in general of exploiting them to get filthy rich.

Incidentally, white liberals such as MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow don’t care that their race is being maligned to such a dangerous degree. She and her cronies are all too happy to shrug it off, albeit with really racist commentary that they’re probably too stupid to understand are racist.

“This is supposed to make you believe that in this tape from before he was President, Barack Obama is revealing his secret plan to be way more black than he seems to you now,” Maddow opined. “This is how he snuck into the White House, right? People didn’t know he was this black and if they would have known he was this black, they never would have elected [him]. That’s the idea here, right?”

“Way more black?” Really, Rachel? Really?

And they say that conservatives are the racist ones?

Of course, it’s that kind of no-minded mentality that elected a dictator wannabe in the first place, not to mention an absolute idiot of a vice president, who just admitted that “the middle class” has “been buried in the last four years.”

Thanks Joe Biden. At least somebody’s occasionally truthful in the White House these days.

Because Barack Hussein Obama (Mmm… mmm… mmm) certainly isn’t going to go around admitting that U.S. births are down for a fourth year in a row, probably because people can’t afford additional financial responsibilities in the middle of an ongoing recession. Nor is Obama going to take the blame for his pathetic policies regarding our borders, which has resulted in the shootings of two more U.S. border agents, one of whom died.

And he’s really not going to own up to how his policies have decimated Democrat’s voting enthusiasm.

The UK’s Guardian, however, didn’t get the mainstream media memo to keep that kind of thing quiet, judging by its published survey “of the most crucial swing states” which “found that new voter registrations recorded between January and August this year are markedly down compared with the same period in 2008. The drop is particularly pronounced in several states for the Democrats – a likely indication that Barack Obama’s re-election team has been unable to match the exception levels of voter excitement generated by his candidacy four years ago.”

On the plus side, that seems to indicate that America doesn’t always need its leaders to be honest in order to get the big picture… the big picture being that Obama in one dreadful President.

France Handles Debt Crisis by Fully Funding Abortions

These days, I can completely understand why so many liberal Americans think that we’re inferior to Europeans. The way they’re handling their debt crisis is sheer genius, making our paltry printing efforts seem amateur at best.

While we’re playing with the puppies, they’re running with the big dogs, making the tough decisions and seeing them all the way through, back to the strong, intelligent, prosperous Europe that has always been.

Take France, for example, which “unveiled a package of reforms designed to increase access to abortion, including 100 percent reimbursement of medical costs by the state social security system,” according to France 24.

The article goes on to state that: “At present French women are only able to claim back between 70 and 80 percent of the costs, which average between 200 and 450 euros depending on whether the abortion is induced by medication taken at home or carried out by surgical procedure in a clinic.

“The change to full reimbursement was included in the 2013 social security budget unveiled on Monday. In a statement the government said the move was ‘necessary to ensure all women have equal access to abortion.’”

And there you have it, America! That’s the right way to handle a dangerous debt load that threatens to destroy your country: Just spend more money fostering a national mentality of responsibility avoidance!

President Obama certainly understands that. I just don’t understand why so few others in America do.

Guns Used to Slaughter 14 Mexican Teenagers Linked to Fast and Furious

You know those guns that President Barack Obama’s administration – and Attorney General Eric Holder’s office in particular – facilitated into the hands of Mexican drug cartels during their ill-conceived, poorly executed Fast and Furious operation?

By now, most Americans should know that one of those guns, wielded by one of those members, killed U.S. Border Patrol Brian Terry. And it shouldn’t need to be stated that many Mexicans lost their lives as well on account of the America government’s harebrained attempt to turn public opinion against the U.S. Constitution’s Second Amendment.

But now we have specifics about the latter.

According to Spanish language TV news network, Univision, (translated by ABC News), “On January 30, 2010, a commando of at least 20 hit men parked themselves outside a birthday party of high school and college students in Villas de Salvarcar, Ciudad Juarez.

“Near midnight, the assassins, later identified as hired guns for the Mexican cartel La Linea, broke into a one-story house and opened fire on a gathering of nearly 60 teenagers. Outside, lookouts gunned down a screaming neighbor and several students who had managed to escape. Fourteen young men and women were killed, and 12 more wounded before the hit men finally fled.”

The article went on to say that three “of the high caliber weapons fired that night in Villas de Salvarcar were linked to a gun tracing operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).”

In other words, three of the guns were deliberately sold to such disgusting savages by the Obama administration, which then proceeded to wait for bodies to start falling – bodies like those of the poor teenagers in Villas de Salvarcar – in order to suit its own selfish, power-hungry, anti-American purposes.

What kind of person intentionally allows hardened criminals to go waltzing away with weapons like that? What kind of person can condone the unnecessary slaughter of innocents just to make a point? What kind of person honestly cares that little about human life?

That kind of person is, sadly, not hard to find these days…

Because there’s one sitting in the Oval Office (or out on the golf course) and another at his desk at the Department of Justice.
