President Obama Says Some Nice Things About Military on Memorial Day

President Obama had some very nice things to say about our military men and women on Saturday. Looking ahead to Memorial Day, he noted that members of our armed forces, “who have given their lives in service to this country we love… are heroes, each and every one.

“They gave America the most precious thing they had – ‘the last full measure of devotion.’ And because they did, we are who we are today – a free and prosperous nation, the greatest in the world. At a time when only about one percent of the American people bear the burden of our defense, the service and sacrifice of our men and women in uniform isn’t always readily apparent. That’s partly because our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and coast guardsmen are so skilled at what they do. It’s also because those who serve tend to do so quietly. They don’t seek the limelight. They don’t serve for our admiration, or even our gratitude. They risk their lives, and many give their lives, for something larger than themselves or any of us: the ideals of liberty and justice that make America a beacon of hope for the world.”

Those are beautiful, beautiful words… spoken by an absolute liar who doesn’t care one whit about the men and women he’s talking about. Or to, for that matter.

It shows too when he’s not trying to kiss up to the camera.

Last year, the Pentagon estimates there were 26,000 cases of sexual abuse in the military, which is a 35% increase over 2010. And while I don’t condone any of those actual examples of cretinism, I do believe it’s important to note how little respect the military has gotten under President Obama.

This is the man who accepted the presidency in November 2012 after willfully ignoring thousands of military voices, whose absentee ballots went missing or were never recorded in the first place due to government mishandling. As I remember, the same was true in 2008.

This is the man who plans to raise U.S. funding for the United Nations next year by $3.6 billion while simultaneously cutting military capital by $10 billion. Now I know that we waste tons of money in the military as everywhere else in government… but why would Obama slash the one and further finance the other?

Yeah. I didn’t think there was a decent reason either.

So it should come as no surprise that this is also the man that presided over the retraction of college tuition assistance in the military this year while fighting to give education benefits to illegal immigrants. It’s also important to mention how our war rules of conduct have been drastically changed to favor the enemy and put our troops in danger.

In other words, the military isn’t getting much respect these days. Our service men and women are getting turned aside like so many pieces of trash. So it shouldn’t be much of a surprise if they’re acting like garbage as a result.
