Chiefs’ Husain Abdullah Gets Flagged for Praying During Patriots Game

How in the world is praying unsportsmanlike?

Please someone explain this to me.

Last night, while apparently decimating the Patriots, the Chiefs’ Husain Abdullah was penalized for kneeling to Allah, which was deemed unsportsmanlike conduct.

I’m not trying to be PC here. I don’t believe in Allah, I don’t care for Allah, and I think Allah can lead to some seriously sick thinking. Yet we are supposed to have freedom of religion in this country, aren’t we?

Technically, the NFL is its own institution and can make up any number of stupid rules. If it wanted to ban the color red from the football field, then guess what? The Patriots, Chiefs and every other team with red in their uniform would have to comply if they wanted to continue participating in the league.

But just because the NFL has the right to be stupid doesn’t mean that it should be stupid. For all the actually offensive behavior by players these days, I have no clue why we have to come down on prayer unless it includes ritualistic sacrifices in the end zone.

NFL, you’re pathetic.

American Woman Gets Beheaded by American Muslim and Media Barely Blinks

You’d think that an American getting beheaded in America would make the news, but apparently our American media has declared the subject halal.

On Thursday, Alton Alexander Nolen, who goes by his Muslim moniker “Jah’Keem Yisrael” on Facebook, was let go at work after allegedly arguing that women should be stoned to death in certain situations. He then proceeded to go back to work on Friday morning, only to enact another Muslim extremist form of punishment by beheading one of his former female coworkers.

When I first saw the story featured on Yahoo! on Friday morning, it mentioned nothing about the Muslim connection. In the news source’s defense, I don’t think that detail had been released yet.

Though, let’s face it, the only people who really behead anyone these days are Mexican drug cartels and Muslim extremists. And since the beheading took place in Oklahoma, I logically assumed it was the latter at work.

Yet when more information came out indicating that, yes, Alton Alexander Nolen was indeed a Muslim convert, the story pretty much disappeared from Yahoo. Maybe I missed the screaming headlines from other liberal outlets like CNN and MSNBC, but the only articles I saw covering the story after that inconvenient truth came out was from conservative sites like The Daily Caller.

Do you remember how many stories there were about the Ferguson shooting, where a white cop shot a black criminal? It was everywhere! We couldn’t get away from it.

So where in America is the outrage when a black Muslim man beheads a white female?

Apparently, it’s not allowed to exist. Not in the mainstream media, anyway.

That’s because there’s a PC hierarchy this nation’s newsmen adhere to, and while it changes to suit various political agendas, it currently goes like this:

·         Women trump men
·         Blacks trump women
·         Muslims trump all

In other words, that poor Oklahoman woman who got beheaded never stood a chance.

Homeland Security Focuses on Climate Change Instead of Homeland Security

Our southern borders are almost entirely unprotected, with our patrol agents being used as welcoming committees instead of deterrents to the swarms of drug lords, sex traffickers, delinquents and tax burdens wanting in to the United States of America.

Oh yeah, and terrorists. They’re coming through too, on top of the terrorist attacks and attempted terrorist attacks we’ve already suffered under the present administration, including:

·         The Little Rock, Arkansas Army recruitment center shootings in June 2009
·         The Fort Hood shootings in November 2009
·         The Underwear Bomber on Northwest Airlines Flight 253 in December 2009
·         The Times Square bombing attempt in May 2010
·         The U.S. embassy attack in Benghazi, Libya in November 2012 (still sovereign soil)
·         The Boston Marathon Bombing in April 2013.

Considering that even the unsuccessful attacks were thwarted by dumb luck or divine intervention, clearly our Department of Homeland Security could be doing a better job of protecting citizens. Not that it cares.

Instead of focusing more solidly on eliminating terrorist attacks and other security threats within our own borders, it’s decided to add another chore to its list of responsibilities: fighting climate change.

Reuters reports: “‘Increasingly, we’ve moved not only from a security focus to a resiliency focus,’ said Caitlin. Durkovich, assistant secretary for infrastructure protection at Homeland Security, an agency better known for its fight to curb terrorist threats.”

Sometimes, government-speak can be fairly cryptic, but I think this one is easy to translate:

“We’re going to continue spending money on completely pointless projects that won’t do you a single bit of good. Feel free to go jump off a bridge whenever you want. We really don’t care.”

Actually wait a minute. That pretty much describes government-speak in general.

I guess it’s not so cryptic after all.

How You Can Easily Tell When a Piggish Politician is a Democrat or Republican

Here’s a good question: When politicians get caught at strip clubs or participating in other indecent acts, how can you easily tell whether they’re Democrat or Republican?

There are a few tricks I’d recommend to properly identify the disgraced oinkers:

1.      Look at the headline. If it excuses the candidate – such as Yahoo’s “Should we care if a candidate visits a strip club?” – then the pig in question is a Democrat.
2.      Check out the subhead. If it doesn’t mention a specific party, then the pig in question is a Democrat. For example: “The case of Kansas gubernatorial candidate Paul Davis raises important questions for the media – and voters.”
3.      Read the first paragraph. If it sounds about as wishy washy as… well… this: “Take a minute to consider the most reckless or embarrassing thing you’ve ever done. Think about that shameful moment or period in your life you choose not to revisit because it makes you wince. And then ask yourself: Should that moment be the measure of your character? The only thing anyone remembers about you?” If it reads anything like that, then yeah: The pig in question is most definitely a Democrat.

Apparently, this particular incident happened in the 90s, when the now 42-year-old Paul Davis was 26 and single. And as Yahoo also assures us, “He’s now 42, a dad and a state legislator.”

Who cares? I still want to know if a politician I’m considering voting for – whether Democrat, Republican or Independent – has shown that kind of poor judgment/misogyny. Because if he thought that little of women before, then there's a decent chance he'll be a repeat offender.

Call me old-fashioned.

Maybe it’s that antiquated mindset that also has me gaping in outrage at Yahoo News’ Matt Bai’s next lines of:

“For those of us who write about politics for a living, all of this should provoke a different set of complicated questions. Such as: When does boneheaded private behavior become relevant to one's public integrity? And who gets to decide – the media or the voters?”

Ummm… Come again? “Who gets to decide – the media or the voters?”

The voters, stupid! I don’t need you to think for me! I’ve got my own brain, especially since you clearly don’t know how to use yours. I bet that if a Democrat candidate walked around wearing a “It’s not rape: It’s a snuggle with a struggle” t-shirt (which was being sold in a department store in the Philippines), you’d excuse that too, you know-nothing twerp!

God save us from piggish politicians. And their self-important minions in the media.

Our God Is An Awesome God… Even When Our World Is Stupid

The news is depressing me today. It’s just the same stupid stuff done over and over again by the same stupid people who want nothing to do with truth or dignity or true beauty.

So I’m protesting by not writing about any of it this morning. Instead, I’m just going to post the lyrics to Rich Mullin’s “Awesome God” and leave it at that:

When He rolls up His sleeves, He ain't just putting on the ritz
(Our God is an awesome God)
There's thunder in His footsteps and lightning in His fists
(Our God is an awesome God)
And the Lord wasn't joking when He kicked 'em out of Eden
It wasn't for no reason that He shed His blood
His return is very close and so you better be believing that Our God is an awesome God

Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, power, and love
Our God is an awesome God
Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, power, and love
Our God is an awesome God

And when the sky was starless in the void of the night
(Our God is an awesome God)
He spoke into the darkness and created the light
(Our God is an awesome God)
The judgment and wrath He poured out on Sodom
The mercy and grace He gave us at the cross
I hope that we have not too quickly forgotten that
Our God is an awesome God

Our God is an awesome God
He reigns from heaven above
With wisdom, power, and love
Our God is an awesome God

That’s the message I want to post today, and that’s the message I want to remember.

I’m just going to leave it at that.

Breaking News! Elle Fanning Makes for an Adorable Brunette! Like Totally OMG!!!!!!

Why do we care so much about celebrities? I do not understand this.

I opened up one of those pointless, mindless celebrity articles on Yahoo! this morning. For what reason, I don’t know. Maybe because of the title: “Movie innocent goes brunette.”

The girl in question, Elle Fanning, looks cute as a blond and adorable as a brunette, and has a lovely smile regardless. The article, on the other hand, is anything but attractive…

“Fanning walked the carpet with straight, stylish, dark brown hair…”

[Editor’s Note: My hair is dark brown. This girl’s is medium brown. Stupid fashion critics.]

“… a big departure from what her fans are used to seeing in films like We Bought a Zoo and Super 8. The unexpected switch caused a wave of online interest. ‘**Sound the new hair alarm, y’all** Elle Fannie is no longer blonde. I repeat, no longer blonde,’ tweeted MTV Style…”

“Sound the new hair alarm?” There’s such thing as a “new hair alarm?” Seriously?

Even tongue-in-cheek, that’s just embarrassing. I’m embarrassed for MTV Style, and all the other ridiculous sources who thought that a 16-year-old changing her hair color was newsworthy.

I mean really. Who cares?!!

No offense to her (no, really. I mean it.), but her dye job isn’t curing the Ebola epidemic. It’s not fighting the ISIS terrorists, who may or may not be beheading children, and are definitely beheading adults. And it’s not helping turn around our appalling education system, which encourages children of all ages to stay intellectually brainwashed, emotionally stunted and physically obsessed.

So how about we all focus on the real issues at hand instead of whether someone so remotely unconnected to us looks adorable or not. We might find that there’s more to live for than what color our hair is.

Department of Homeland Security Continues to Fail Miserably

According to The Washington Post, “Over the past four years, employees have left [the Department of Homeland Security] at a rate nearly twice as fast as in the federal government overall, and the trend is accelerating, according to a review of a federal database.”

That’s a little scary right there. And this next piece of the article doesn’t make it any less so:

“The departures are a result of what employees widely describe as a dysfunctional work environment, abysmal morale, and the lure of private security companies paying top dollar that have proliferated in Washington since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks.

“The department’s terrorism intelligence arm, for example, has cycled through six directors during the Obama administration, decimating morale and contributing to months-long delays in releasing intelligence reports, according to interviews and government reports.”

Just to make sure everyone’s following, this is the Department of Homeland Security the article is talking about. This is the group that’s supposed to be protecting American borders and keeping our citizens safe from terrorist threats that are already developing inside the country.

I’d say that our president and his minions don’t much care about our well-being. And it would be true. But apparently Obama doesn’t much care for his own safety either, considering how a guy with a knife was able to hop the White House fence, run across the lawn and actually enter the building before the Secret Service was able to stop him.

I guess at least Obama’s consistent?

NFL Gets It All Wrong in Response to Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson Abusive Behavior

I’m officially getting tired of the whole Ray Rice/Adrian Peterson/NFL Domestic Abuse stories.

Not to say I don’t have strong opinions about the perpetrators. Both of them allegedly have multiple children with multiple women, so clearly they don’t respect women. Or themselves.

A man who respects himself doesn’t go around having sex with whatever comes his way. He considers more than his physical urges, which means that he doesn’t go slugging women in the face or giving small children black eyes.

I’d love to therefore say that I appreciate the NFL’s response to these outed examples of horrible off-field behavior. But I can’t, and not just because the League happily ignored most of the criminal behavior until its own neck was on the line.

As I understand it, the NFL has since essentially created a nanny state governance system, where players will be pretty much monitored by supervisors – female ones, of course – to supposedly ensure that they don’t hit their sexed-up sidekicks or smack around their kids.

But how about this solution: How about we start treating the source instead of the symptoms?

Our society is filled with harmfully immature individuals. Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson are the norm, for heaven’s sake, maybe not when it comes to physical acts of violence, but certainly when it comes to their general lack of self-control.

Not to keep trash-talking former Baltimore Ravens’ players (though as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan, I can’t say I’m balking at it either), but do you know what piece of advice Ray Lewis says he would give his younger self?

“Use a condom.” That’s the best non-football contribution he thinks he can give himself.

How about “Keep it in your pants!” Or better yet, “Life is about more than just physicality. It’s worth something greater than instant gratification.”

Those are the lessons we need to be teaching society these days. Not the “Hitting girls is mean” message the NFL is busy throwing at its players, but “Think before you act as a general rule.”

If we commit to spreading that message, we’ll end up seeing a lot less of cases like Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson, and a lot more examples like Tim Tebow and Peyton Manning.

Football isn’t the problem, people (unless we’re talking about Ravens’ fans). Society's wanton disregard for dignity is. And it’s high time we threw the flag at the real fouls going on.

Staten Island Students Define Feminism as Dressing Classless in School

About 200 Staten Island students are bucking their high school’s dress code, and calling it feminism.

You see, Tottenville High School enforces a ban on low-cut shirts and crop tops, skinny jeans and wearing leggings as pants, all of which are apparently riveting examples of what true womanhood is all about. Because nothing screams “Girl power!” like form-fitting, skin-baring outfits that make boys focus on physical offerings instead of the whole package. Right?

Wait a minute… That doesn’t sound quite right…

But these girls don’t want to wait a minute. They don’t want to think. And they don’t want to know their vocabulary, since they’re crying “Sexist!” about a dress code that also bans male-oriented apparel such as do-rags, spiked jewelry, muscle shirts and wallet chains.

The protesting students might not have much class, common sense or school smarts, but they make do with what they do have. Completely misguided passion for pointless pursuits, as captured in the tweets below:

·         “Maybe instead of worrying about what I’m wearing, you should worry about the fact that I’m going to graduate high school with next to no life skills whatsoever”
·         “when the principal pays for my clothes, then he can tell me what to wear if my mom let’s me walk out of the house then you have no say”
·         “WEAR WHAT U WANT!! Rules are meant to be broken!!!”

To these girls, I have the following responses:

·         Maybe YOU should start worrying about your academic standing and ultimate ability to cope in the real world. That’s ultimately your decision, darlin’, not the school’s.
·         When you start paying for your own education, then you can dress as badly as you want.
·         If rules are meant to be broken, then other people can treat you as badly as you seem determined to treat yourself. You’re not the only person to consider in this situation.

Clearly, somebody needs to tell these girls what they’re headed toward if they don’t start figuring out that life is more about shallow trends, beauty and materialism. Maybe the parents? Novel thought, I know.

Otherwise, they’re going to turn into beautiful but classless train wrecks who get physically, emotionally and every-other-which way abused by others, all because they think their worth is wrapped up in how much they get noticed.

Just ask Rihanna, who got nationally humiliated by the NFL last week for being the continuing poster girl for domestic abuse.

John Kerry Proposes Ignoring Separation of Church and State to Fund “Real Islam”

Secretary of State John Kerry met representatives from twenty-six countries in Paris to discuss the Islamic State/IS/ISIS/ISIL problem plaguing the world today.

This is the John Kerry who rarely fails to say something interesting. And by interesting, I mean mind-bogglingly ignorant. I remember watching him during the 2004 presidential debates, and literally cringing at some of his absurd responses.

Though I have to say his comments aren’t nearly so blatantly ridiculous as past examples. You do have to connect a few logical dots to understand that he’s still the same ignoramus as before.

Inhis remarks about how to properly combat the Islamic State/IS/ISIS/ISIL, he said:

“… the military piece is one piece. It’s one component of this. It’s a critical component, but it’s only one component. And the truth is, equally – probably far more important than the military in the end is going to be what countries are able to do to help Iraq to be able to step up and other places, by the way, to step up and start drying up this pool of jihadis who get seduced into believing there’s some virtue in crossing into Syria to fight or to join ISIL. And a young nine-year-old kid who goes with his father and his mother and holds up the severed head of someone. I mean, that’s just beyond imagination. And what this effort has to do is literally dry up the money, dry up the foreign fighters, prevent the foreign fighters from going home back to various places to do harm. It has to start major efforts to delegitimize ISIS’s claim to some religious foundation for what it’s doing and begin to put real Islam out there and draw lines throughout the region.”

It’s that last statement that stands out the most to me: “It has to start major efforts to delegitimize ISIS’s claim to some religious foundation or what it’s doing and begin to put real Islam out there and draw lines throughout the region.”

What he’s saying is that we need to put resources toward differentiating between “false” Islamic beliefs and “true” Islamic beliefs. And resources cost money.

Which means that taxpayer dollars will be used to promote religion, even though liberals are constantly harping about how the government isn’t allowed to have anything to do with such things. You know, separation of church and state and all?

Supporters could argue that Kerry was telling everyone else that they should be throwing money at the problem, while America has no intention of helping out. I mean, the secretary of state never came right out and said “America is going to fund ‘real Islam.’

But we all know how the Obama administration likes throwing money around. So that argument is a joke.

Unfortunately, the results to this proposed strategy aren’t going to be nearly so funny to the American economy.

A New War in the Middle East or Another Obama Administration Failure in the Making?

Secretary of State John Kerry completed his tour to gin up Middle East support against the Islamic State, which incidentally, I have no idea what to call anymore. Is it ISIS, ISIL, IS?

This is as bad as the still-undetermined spelling of al Qaeda! If we’re going to go fight these people, we should at least be able to get their name right.

But that’s not the only problematic part of these military efforts, as the mainstream media is readily admitting. The Christian Science Monitor says the response to Kerry’s efforts “was less than enthusiastic.” And the Associated Press listed off a set of reasons why the Middle East is being so wishy-washy about standing against the terrorist organization plaguing it:

·         The various governments don’t care for democracy, which the United States stands for. In theory, anyway.
·         There are religious issues within the Muslim ranks, where Sunnis don’t want to help out Shiites and vice versa.
·         Nobody takes the U.S. seriously anymore.

The AP briefly blamed Bush for that last assessment but went on to add, “The Obama administration’s swift abandonment of Hosni Mubarak in 2011 shocked allies in the region, most of whom were hardly more democratic than the ousted Egyptian leader. U.S. attempts to work with Islamists during the brief rule of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood left many concluding that American leadership was naïve and its diplomacy inept.”

Those key points and much of the rest of that section basically boils down to Obama being incredibly incompetent in his handling of the Middle East. But if you want to read it all for yourself, click here and then scroll down to the section that says “U.S. CREDIBILITY HAS WANED.”

Meanwhile, the Obama administration is still trying to play both sides, where it’s both going to war George W. Bush-style and is seeking the hippy credo of pot, peace and cowardice at the same time.

National Security Adviser Susan Rice told CNN: “I don’t know whether you want to call it a war or a sustained counterterrorism campaign or – I think, frankly, this is a counterterrorism operation that will take time. It will be sustained.”

She doesn’t know. This shouldn’t be a difficult classification, but she doesn’t know.

How can we expect others to get on board with our efforts if we don’t even know what those efforts really are?

That’s a question that deserves an answer. And the same goes for whether we have a president who actually cares about anything but his golfing stats.

Monkeys Getting Drunk on Taxpayers' Dime

Back in my crazy college days, there was a club called The Hardware Bar that promised to be the place you could get “hammered, nailed and screwed.” Hammered meaning drunk and probably suffering a splitting headache the next day, nailed and screwed meaning… well… you know.

It was apparently a tempting offer, because the place was usually packed. And judging by The Washington Times write-up I just read, today’s D.C. establishment was right there in line with the rest of ‘em. Because it’s copying that motto. Big time.

How else can you explain that the federal government is spending $3.2 million to get monkeys drunk?

Ok, so it’s not the American taxpayers who get to get hammered, but we’re certainly getting… well… you know.

Regardless, it’s a lot more appealing from The Hardware Bar than from the government.

“Right now, the National Institutes of Health is spending $3.2 million to get monkeys to drink alcohol excessively to determine what effect it has long-term on their body tissue.”

Let me stop them right there and ask why we care? We already know that binge drinking has negative effects. Why do we need to know the minute details of how this completely voluntary act breaks down our bodies?

Oh yeah, we don’t! Nor do we care about how “NIH also has handed out $69,459 to the University of Missouri to study whether text messaging college students before they attend pre-football game tailgates will encourage them to drink less and ‘reduce harmful effects related to alcohol consumption.’”

I’ll pause again to flat-out answer that question for them right now: It won’t.

“And the government’s premiere research arm has doled out money in recent years for research on binge-drinking mice, inebriated gamblers and pilots seeking the sensations of flying drunk – on a simulator of course.

“NIH defends such expenditures on the grounds that these research projects help those they fund improve their ‘potential to develop into a productive, independent research scientist.’”

Here’s a thought… Maybe people wouldn’t binge drink in the first place if they knew their government was handling their tax dollars with just a (dry) ounce of common sense! And then we wouldn’t have to waste time, money and effort on getting monkeys drunk.

I’m pretty sure I just nailed it.

As in I just hit the nail on the head… Like I solved the problem… I mean…

Oh, forget it. I need a drink.

Thirteen Years After 9/11, Nearly Half of Americans Consider Country Less Safe

According to an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, 47% of Americans believe the country is less safe now than before 9/11 2001.

Considering all the money, time and effort we’ve spent on making the country more safe since Islamic extremists rammed planes into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, that’s pathetic.

It’s also perfectly understandable. Which makes it even more pathetic.

The Washington Times article I found on the subject blames it on “the rise of the Islamic State and its on-camera beheadings of journalists.” And it adds: “That’s more people feeling unsafe than even a year after [9/11]… when just 20 percent felt that way. The fear level has spiked dramatically since just last year, when 28 percent of Americans said they didn’t feel safe.”

That makes sense too.

I mean, back in 2002, we had a president who wasn’t perfect but who genuinely cared about the United States of America. Militarily, he did everything he could to ensure our safety.

In 2014, we have a president who is broadcasting his open borders policy to the world, telling everyone to come on in without legal permission or security checks. That’s not just a financial drain on our already hurting economy; it’s also a humongous national defense issue.

Put bluntly, if we’re not patrolling our own borders, then it’s not just the assistance-seeking illegals and violent drug lords who can cross at ease. It’s also the terrorists, who want to turn the United States as far away from freedom and prosperity as possible.

Just ask Mohamed Elibiary, a senior member of Obama’s Department of Homeland Security Advisory Council, who tweeted about it being “inevitable that [the] Caliphate returns,” “Kind of comical watching pundits on some US TV channels freak out about an #ISIS #Caliphate,” and “Easy folks, take deep breath & relax. #Iraq.”

Islamic translation: Sorry America, but you might as well just give up and let us brutally ram Sharia Law down your throats like we’re doing in the Middle East, where we kidnap, rape, torture and terrorize at will.

Obama’s response to all of that is, once again, pathetic. Leaving our southern borders largely unprotected, he’s finally decided to do something about the utter mess of the Middle East, but only if he gets to say really stupid things like that the [terrorist organization] ISIL is not Islamic.”

So, no. I don’t think the beheadings are the real – or at least the full – reason why Americans feel so unsafe right now. I think it’s because we have a president who doesn’t have our best interest at heart, and we know it.

Bruce Levenson Loses Team Over Racist Remarks; Ray Rice Skates on Assaulting Woman

It’s quite obvious that we have a seriously screwed-up level of priorities in this country.

Over the weekend, Atlanta Hawks’ owner Bruce Levenson was pressured into agreeing to sell his part of the team because of racist comments he made.

According to TMZ, in a 2012 email, he complained to team executives that the current fan base is overwhelmingly black, the cheerleaders are all black, the music is all black and the sports bars’ customers are nearly all black. “I have even bitched the kiss cam is too black,” he’s admitted.

Making racist remarks is never right. But SAYING hurtful things is usually better than DOING hurtful things… like punching your fiancé in the face and knocking her out cold.

Yup. It’s official. Ray Rice really did punch his soon-to-be-wife right in the head during an elevator argument. I’m watching the video footage right now. He doesn’t hold back.

But what does Rice get for his actions? A two-game suspension. That’s it. Two lousy games. Then he’s right back to being a hot-shot, highly-paid loser for the Baltimore Ravens.

So… What can we conclude from this?

How about that our sports-and-entertainment crazed society cares more about what people say than what they do?

Or how about that it values blacks over women? Which means that if a black man punches out a black woman, his blackness trumps her femaleness and he gets to get away with it.

This isn’t right, people! It isn’t right and it isn’t helpful. To anyone.

So let me spell out the right-there-in-your-face truth:

Black people are not more important than women. Women are not more important than black people. Men are not more important than Asians. Gays are not more important than Native Americans. Latinos are not more important than young adults.

And the list goes on.

People are people. Stop putting them into groups, and start treating them like individuals.

‘Cause guess what? They may BELONG to the former, but they ARE the latter. And they can only be held accountable for who they are and what they do. Not anything – or anyone – else.

Note Added on 9/10/14: Clearly, I picked the wrong fight to pick on this one considering what happened to Rice after I posted this. I should have focused more on the putting your money where your mouth is message.

The Ridiculous Hypocrisy of Greepeace

This is another no-duh blog, thanks to the ridiculous hypocrisy of Greenpeace International.

Greenpeace is an over-bloated, overly sanctimonious and overly ignorant organization to begin with. I mean, come on… It still believes in global warming despite an enormous and growing amount of evidence to the contrary.

Or does it?

The fully sanctioned actions of its international program director, Pascal Husting, certainly seem to indicate that perhaps Greenpeace leadership isn’t so gung-ho about its pointless mission as it pretends to be. It’s just come to light that Husting used a chartered jet to fly back and forth between his Luxembourg home and Amsterdam office for two years.

That’s a 500-mile round trip.

And 313 pounds of carbon dioxide generated.

For a total cost of $20,000.

How many trees could have been saved if he just had chosen a different mode of transportation?

Personally, I could care less since I don’t believe there’s any such problem as global warming. But Husting and the rest of Greenpeace management say otherwise, which means that they should be putting their money where their obnoxious mouths are.

Speaking of money, the organization operates on a $95 million annual budget, according to the Washington Times. But it might have to drop that down a mil or two this year since almost 700 donors in the Netherlands alone have canceled their donations after hearing about the Husting hypocrisy scandal.

Sadly, however, I’m sure that Greenpeace will recover from this outing quickly enough.

There are more than enough ignorant people out there desperately seeking a cause – any cause – to make themselves feel better about their life choices. And people like that have very short memories when it comes to issues they should really be paying attention to.

Colorado Marijuana Taxes Start Out With a Bad Drug Trip

Sometimes I have to laugh when government plans go up in smoke.

“Smoke!” Ha!

Why is that so funny? Because I’m talking about marijuana. Pot. Mary Jay. And all those other cool terms I never learned because I was homeschooled.

Some education I got.

(Almost) all silliness aside, when the Colorado government pushed to legalize marijuana, it wasn’t thinking about crackpot (ha!) libertarian ideals. It was thinking about taxes, and all the additional income it could bilk off of dumb college students and other druggies who would rather escape into temporary, hazy dream worlds than deal with long-term reality.

According to the Denver chapter of CBS, the state thought it would bring in over $33 million in additional taxes in just the first half year.

Instead, it came up more than $21 million under that estimate.

See why I’m laughing?

This was totally predictable to anyone who didn’t have their eyes, ears and minds stopped up with socialized bureaucracy nonsense. Of course lawless ninnies are going to keep frequenting their friendly neighborhood drug dealers instead of stopping at tax-paying establishments.

It’s cheaper!

That alone is a majorly big deal, especially in an economy that’s still seeing far too many unemployed, including a heck of a lot of recent college grads. And then there’s the fact that the government does very little for anyone but itself these days, so very few people give it any loyalty back.

I mean, why follow the law when lawmakers are only in it for themselves?

It’s a very valid question that politicians refuse to take into consideration. So clearly they’re smoking something too, just not anything as benign as pot.

In short, legalizing marijuana was an utterly idiotic idea from a tax-revenue standpoint alone.

Now I’m off to find some brownies.

(Just kidding, Dad. I wouldn't know how to find any even if I wanted to.)

According to Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama, Joe Biden Is Racist

Did you know that the phrase “Take back America” is racist?

That’s what Attorney General Eric Holder said last month in an interview with ABC: “There’s a certain level of vehemence, it seems to me, that’s directed at me [and] directed at the president. You know, people talking about taking their country back… There’s a certain racial component to this for some people. I don’t think this is the thing that is a main driver, but for some there’s a racial animus.”

It’s also racist according to President Obama, at least as of 2011. According to U.S. News and World Report’s Ken Walsh:

“A guest suggested that when Tea Party activists said they wanted to ‘take back’ their country, their real motivation was to stir up anger and anxiety at having a black president, and Obama didn’t dispute the idea. He agreed that there was a ‘subterranean agenda’ in the anti-Obama movement – a racially biased one – that was unfortunate. But he sadly conceded that there was little he could do about it.”

So what does Vice President Joe Biden do? He goes out to Detroit and tells the people gathered there that “it’s time to take back America.”

Oy vey.

That’s just stupid. And tone deaf. And embarrassing.

Worse yet, it’s stupid and tone deaf and embarrassing regardless of whether you take the liberal or conservative perspective here.

From President Obama and Crony General – oops! I mean Attorney General. Clearly – Eric Holder’s viewpoint, Joe Biden is a racist right alongside the mother of all racist organizations!

(No, not the KKK or Nazis. The Tea Party. Come on people. Keep up with me here.)

Looking at it from a Tea Party point of view, or anyone who has the intellectual integrity to admit that this nation is a wreck, Joe Biden is admitting that the last six years of his running mate’s administration have done nothing good.

I mean, come on… At this point, what can we take America back from other than Obama and his liberal agenda?

Like I said: stupid, tone deaf and embarrassing. In other words, typical Joe Biden.
