People Don’t Seem to Like Hillary Clinton Very Much

Things aren’t going well for the possible rapist, definitely womanizing scumbag’s wife, a.k.a. Hillary Clinton.

I can’t imagine why. I mean, this is possibly the first female president of the United States that we’re talking about. Why aren’t people excited?

Well, if you ask some, like vendors in Philadelphia trying to sell political memorabilia, you might hear that she’s too well known. She’s not a shiny penny. (Or something lame like that.)

Others are a little more realistic in their analysis. They don’t like her because she’s an elitist, fascist pig who’s willing to lock people in or out of her convention just so she looks good on TV.

That’s how Rania Khalek seemed to feel when she tweeted: “The DNC is preventing a planned walkout by some during Clinton’s speech by locking ppl in the #DemConvention.”

Indeed, the DNC itself seemed to announce as much, though admittedly without admitting it was trying to save Hillary’s face.

And then there are the hardcore Bernie Sanders supporters, who hate Hill – flat-out loathe, really – because she stole the election from their guy. Which, thanks to WikiLeaks, we know she did.

As of Thursday night, they were out there protesting outside the Democratic National Convention, so mad they were willing to rough up someone wearing Hillary Clinton gear.

That someone just happened to be Project Veritas’ James O’Keefe, who went into the crowd pretending to be “with her” (Hillary’s idiotic slogan).

O’Keefe recorded the whole thing, of course. And he was hysterical.

The Bernie fans though? Not so much.

They were intense, like the black man who said he was walking “away from the Democratic party” because he was tired of “suffering” under the control of “political mob bosses.”

They were furious, like the older white man who first asked whether Hillary Clinton would “like a knife up her *ss,” and then proceeded to call her a “b*tch” and the C-word.

And they were tragic, like the man who asked, “Tell me three reasons why I, a black man, should vote for Hillary?” He went on to shout that he could care less about the glass ceiling: that what he was concerned about was putting food on his family’s table.

I can’t call any of that hysterical. I can, however, call the DNC a DNR this week…

Do not resuscitate. ‘Cause Hillary Clinton for president is looking pretty hopeless.

Dear Western World, These Muslim Extremists Know Exactly What They’re Doing

There was yet another terrorist attack in France yesterday.

Two men shouting “Allahu akbar” and “Daesh” – the term spineless, sightless Westerners use for ISIS out of respect for Islam (i.e. fawning reverence for anything that isn’t Christianity. Or Israel) – stormed a Catholic church, slit an 85-year-old priest’s throat and then proceeded to give a sermon in Arabic.

Stories like that are becoming disturbingly commonplace here in the West. Just this month alone, there’s been:

·         The truck drive from hell in Nice, France, that killed over 80 and wounded another 300-plus on July 14
·         The axe and knife attack onboard a German train that wounded five on July 18
·         The bombing at a wine bar in Ansbach, Germany, on July 24 that left 15 injured
·         And now the attack on a French church in which a priest died and a parishioner was critically wounded.

After all of that – not to mention 9/11, the underwear bomber, the shoe bomber, the Charlie Hebdo slaughter, the Paris massacre, the calculated slayings in San Bernardino, California, the Orlando nightclub tragedy, etc., etc., etc. – you’d think the West would get a clue that there are a lot of Middle Easterners and people of Middle Eastern descent who don’t exactly like us… that, in fact, they’re going out of their way to destroy us.

Yet, apparently not.

According to the U.K.’s Mirror, a nun at the latest terrorist attack described how, “Everyone was saying, ‘Just stop. You don’t understand what you are doing.’ But it had no effect.”

They don’t know what they’re doing?

I can’t imagine how traumatized that nun is. And I don’t mean to victim shame. But is she serious?

You have to know what you’re doing to patiently sit around for hours and hours before you plow a truck into a crowded street full of innocent civilians watching fireworks.

You have to know what you’re doing when you pack an axe and a knife, board a train and start hacking at people.

You have to know what you’re doing when you blow up a bomb in a public place or slit an elderly man’s throat while your buddy records it on his smartphone.

Unless they’re demon-possessed, these people know full-well what they’re doing. And they clearly like it enough to keep doing it over again and again and again.

My Take on the WikiLeaks-Inspired Mess That Is the Democratic National Convention

I was up in Boston until about 1:00 pm on Sunday and then pretty much on the road until 10:30 pm, only to get up for a crazy-busy work day. So I missed all the WikiLeaks drama until tonight.

For any of you who still haven’t heard the news, the notorious activist hacker WikiLeaks got its hands on some 20,000 Democratic National Committee emails… a bunch of which made it crystal clear that the primary was rigged against Bernie Sanders and for Hillary Clinton.

Of course, anyone who thought about it for more than a second had to figure that was the case. But now we don’t have to make very well-educated guesses. We have proof (as if we needed any more) that Clinton is a manipulative egomaniac with no qualms about trampling on other’s rights and that the DNC couldn’t care less about We the People (again, one big fat “No duh”).

As a result, the Democratic National Convention – which just officially began today – is a raving mess, with Bernie Sanders supporters repeatedly booing Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and hissing at any mention of Hillary.

Which, I can’t say I blame them for. I mean, it’s hard for a socialist to wake up and realize the conservatives were right all along about big government being a lying piece of trash.

But now that we’re all nice and updated about the drama, here are my thoughts on the matter:

1.      Looks like WikiLeaks’ Julian Assange is a Bernie Sanders supporter and, like most Bernie Sanders supporters, he’s far from pleased that Hillary Clinton stole the Democratic nomination.

2.      Something tells me Donald Trump is going to get a big boost from this, either from Democrats so furious with Hillary that they’ll vote for Trump out of spite or vote for a third-party candidate, which is just as good as voting for Trump.

3.      I’m sure that getting booed off stage could have happened to a worse person than Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. But hey, Mussolini wasn’t available.

And last but not least…

5.      This whole thing is hysterical!!!!

I can’t wait to see what happens next.

With Each Terrorist Attack, the West Is Turning More Into Third-World Countries

Here in the U.S., we’ve had three terrorist attacks in about a month.

It started with the Muslim extremist who opened fire on that gay Orlando nightclub, followed by the #BlackLivesMatter-instigated shooting in Dallas that left five police officers dead and the same kind of targeted attack on cops down in Baton Rouge.

All of them were done by American citizens.

Other countries are actually warning their people about visiting us now. Understandably so.

In Europe, meanwhile, it seems even less safe. Though at least the continent can claim that it’s citizens aren’t trying to destroy their own counties. Over there, it’s all foreigners doing the dirty work.

Germany, for one, started out the year with droves of alleged migrants across cities raping and molesting women. And it just marked another milestone yesterday after an axe-wielding, Allahu Akbar-shouting, 17-year-old boarded a train and started swinging, leaving three people in critical condition and another with more minor injuries.

And then there’s France. After its third massive terrorist attack in 18 months, it’s becoming a lot less known for the Eiffel Tower, flaky pastries and snotty attitudes than blood, guts and gore.

This all begs a very basic but important question…

Since when did the once-safe, once-Christian U.S. and Europe become the tumultuous, Muslim-dominated Middle East?

Nice’s Turn: Another Terrorist Attack Hits France

Once again, the sane, feeling world grieves with France after it was hit by yet another terrorist attack.

This time, the main weapon was a truck used to mow down people in the city of Nice as they gathered to watch fireworks for Bastille Day, a French holiday akin to America’s Fourth of July.

According to Fox News, there were two Americans who died in the attack. And since children love fireworks as much as adults, there were little ones in the crowd too, more than 10 of whom lost their lives in this intentional, vicious display of bigotry and us-vs-them mentality on steroids.

Yeah, I’m drawing a parallel. And no, it’s not unwarranted. Not after Dallas. Not at all.

So far, at least 84 are dead, with countless more injured, traumatized and grieving.

84 people dead because someone believed a bunch of carefully constructed lies about past prejudices and continuing causes and what lives matter and what don’t.

You’d think we’d get a clue considering how much of this has been going around.

Police Walk Off Job at Minnesota Lynx Game… And Good for Them!

Yesterday, Yahoo published an opinion piece condemning four privately-contracted Minneapolis police officers for walking off the job at a Minnesota Lynx basketball game after players walked out wearing shirts supporting the Black Lives Matter movement.

I can’t call it a news article because it wasn’t one. Not when it immediately proclaimed:

“The Minneapolis Police Department’s motto is ‘To Protect With Courage, To Serve with Compassion.’

“Except when it comes to Saturday night’s Minnesota Lynx game at the city’s Target Center, it seems.”

Way to be one of those self-righteous prigs I wrote about yesterday, Yahoo. Like the rest of the mainstream media, you have blood on your hands. Not that you care.

Now, the front of the Lynxes’ black shirts read in large white letters “CHANGE STARTS WITH US” followed by a smaller print that reads “JUSTICE & ACCOUNTABILITY.”

On the back, they read:

PHILANDO CASTILE
ALTON STERLING
BLACK LIVES MATTER

And they included the Dallas Police Department’s emblem between the second and third lines.

According to Yahoo, that was “in honor of the five officers killed by a rogue sniper during a rally protesting the shooting deaths of Castile and Sterling. Lynx players also denounced the ‘senseless ambush’ of the five fallen officers, according to the Star Tribune, and praised Dallas police for their efforts against the unnecessary use of deadly force in recent years.”

That may all be true. But it’s not even close to being good enough.

It’s not good enough when we value criminals’ lives over cops’.

It’s not good enough when we automatically assume cops are guilty instead of doing due diligence.

And it’s not good enough when we treat them like dirt while still expecting them to protect us.

That Dallas Police Department emblem in between all those big, bold words screaming that police are racist, power-hungry monsters? It’s not even close to being good enough.

Which is exactly why those four Minneapolis police officers were entirely justified and even courageous for walking off and refusing to work for the Lynx again.

It’s about time people started sticking up for the police, even if it’s just themselves.

Speaking of sticking up for themselves, the opposing basketball team should have walked off the court too. Because it was the Dallas Wings.

Great job, Minnesota Lynx. Way to be inexcusably blind, deaf and dumb.

And people wonder why this nation is such a mess.

#NoLivesMatter to Power-Hungry Politicians and Self-Righteous Prigs

40-year-old Doreen Scofield is mourning today.

She’s been mourning since Sunday, when her son was murdered in Baltimore.

Jermaine Scofield left behind a 5-year-old daughter and a girlfriend too. Not that any of them matter to power-hungry politicians, an agenda-driven media or a gullible population composed of self-righteous prigs. Not when he was just a black man shot by another black man.

If he only would have been killed by a white man or a cop, that’d be different. But he wasn’t.

So far this year, 147 people were killed in Baltimore. According to The Baltimore Sun, Jermaine “was among four shot – three of them fatally – in a violent six hours in the city” on Sunday alone. Two people were also stabbed to death over the weekend, including a 59-year-old white woman.

She doesn’t matter either, by the way. Not when she was just a white woman. And she still wouldn’t have mattered if she was killed by a white man or a cop.

Like Jermaine Scofield, her corpse just isn’t a useful prop.

Basically, what it comes down to is that their deaths don’t give politicians any stump speeches to gain polling points or press some callous, calculated narrative.

They also don’t give cowardly black people another excuse to blame others instead of fighting the cultural slavery they’ve accepted. Nor do they give self-absorbed white people another opportunity to ignore their own sins by condemning others.

All of which means, of course, that these politicians and cowards and self-righteous prigs don’t care about black men killed by white men or cops either. Not really. Not when they’re so quick to pick and choose who to mourn and who to shrug off based on skin color and circumstances.

If blacks and whites would set aside their self-serving perspectives for just one minute, they’d see the real enemy… and how #NoLivesMatter when power-hungry politicians get involved.

No Really, Guys: Your Words Matter

Words matter.

I always tell my Innovative Editing or continuing education writing students that, usually in the context of authorship: choosing what you’re going to say and how you’re going to say it.

Yes, they’re your words. You own them, and therefore they exist to do your bidding, whether that’s to compliment, insult, debate, provoke or inspire. As the author – whether of fiction or non-fiction, books, articles or social media posts – you have a lot of power.

By choosing specific vocabulary in a specific order, you can inspire a lot of emotion, whether love or hatred, sympathy or disgust, acceptance or dismissal, assurance or trepidation.

Now, I’m not saying we shouldn’t ever try to inspire negative emotions. Far from it. Sometimes negative emotions keep us from getting hurt or getting hurt worse.

Animosity, revulsion, rejection and fear: We have the instinctive ability to feel all of that for a reason. It makes us edge away from a rattlesnake to avoid getting bitten… or recognize that murder is wrong and that murderers need to be brought to justice… or consider other’s feelings when we express our own.

That last one might sound a little out of place. But think about it: Fear of hurting your fellow human beings or making them think badly of you can prevent a lot of unnecessary damage, whether to them or to yourself.

When you don’t have that healthy amount of fear, it gets far too easy to spread malicious gossip and lies that can literally lead to death. People kill themselves and others over the words they hear, either so devastated or so infuriated that they take permanent, devastating action.

It’s a fact that comes to light all too often these days… and has throughout history.

Afraid yet?

Good. You should be.

Of course, there’s a line. You should never be afraid to defend truth – just as long as you take the time to understand what truth is. And you should never be afraid to be yourself – just as long as yourself is something that genuinely ensures a better future.

So seriously, people: Words matter.

Please think about that the next time you're choosing which ones to use.

This Isn’t Helping, People

There was a shooting down in Dallas, Texas, last night during a Black Lives Matter protest against the highly publicized series of black men dying by cop.

Whether Black Lives Matter had anything to do with it or not, I don't know. They're delusional at best and hateful at worst; but there are plenty of people of all colors who push verbal, mental and emotional hatred without letting those negatives transform into physical violence.

At this point, I'm not even willing to say it was black people who did the shooting. It could have been self-righteous whites (judging by some of the comments on the Yahoo article I read). Or another terrorist attack by Muslims. Who knows.

What’s obvious is that we have a racial problem in the U.S. And not in the way liberals say.

Yes, there were two more cases of cops shooting black men this week, one in Minnesota and one in New York City.

In the first one, the officer seemed to be in the wrong (though considering how much the media lies, I’m not willing to publish a firm conclusion here). In the second case, it was road rage, with the black man getting out of his car, reaching through an off-duty cop's open window and punching him in the head until the victim pulled out his gun and shot the perp.

Lumping the two together does nothing for the allegedly blameless Minnesota man. Nothing.

Neither does championing the likes of Freddie Gray in Baltimore, Maryland; Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri; or any of the other moronic lowlifes who GOT THEMSELVES in trouble with the law and ended up dead because of it.

That means pompous 1%-er CEOs in Silicon Valley aren’t doing anyone any favors by telling their black employees they can “call in black any day” because some black men they never heard of got shot.

So far, the liberal outrage has done nothing more than create more chaos. Forget what just happened down in Dallas if you're too hyped up on media-induced sanctimoniousness. But here in Baltimore, police numbers have dropped significantly and murder rates have soared.

And as I’ve said before, it ain't really white people who are suffering that statistical change. It’s black, inner-city Baltimoreans who are dying - including children – because we’ve made cops afraid to do their jobs.

So liberals, media, blacks, whites and everyone else out there, please stop lumping all black men together. They’re individuals, not some stump speech for you to exploit for your own holier-than-thou benefit.

Get a life already. Before more people have to lose theirs.

There's More to "The Star-Spangled Banner" Than You May Know

Just in time for the 4th of July, I finished up my research for Proving America, a to-be story about the War of 1812 and the making of America's national anthem, "The Star-Spangled Banner.”

On the one hand, I’ve found it amazing to learn so much about the time period, the conflict and the people involved.

On the other hand, I’ve found it appalling to learn so much about the time period, the conflict and the people involved, since it means there was a whole lot I previously didn’t know… and probably should have.

One of the biggest ones is the fact that there are three more verses to “The Star-Spangled Banner!” I mean, seriously, how was I not aware of this?

Just in case you weren’t either, here’s the full thing:

The Star-Spangled Banner

“O say can you see, by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hail’d at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watch’d were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there,
O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

“On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep
Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream,
’Tis the star-spangled banner - O long may it wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

“And where is that band who so vauntingly swore,
That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion
A home and a Country should leave us no more?
Their blood has wash’d out their foul footstep’s pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

“O thus be it ever when freemen shall stand
Between their lov’d home and the war’s desolation!
Blest with vict’ry and peace may the heav’n rescued land
Praise the power that hath made and preserv’d us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto - “In God is our trust,”
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Happy 4th of July!

Elizabeth Warren Calls Out Fellow Liberals in Silicon Valley

I’ve always found it fascinating how liberal Hollywood and Silicon Valley elites are.

Everyone knows it’s miserable to be a conservative in those West Coast bastions of buku bucks. The best way to get ahead is to tout platitudes about the 99% and fighting global warming.

Yet everyone also knows that Hollywood and Silicon Valley host some of America – and the world’s – most wealthy people who use up insane amounts of electricity to power their production and products.

Perhaps not everyone puts two and two together to equal hypocrite. But regardless, the answer is right there staring them in the face whenever they’re ready to open their eyes.

Which seems like just happened, actually, and to one of the least likely liberal candidates ever.

That’d be Elizabeth Warren, the woman who was outed a few years back for not being Native American despite using her supposed sliver of a heritage to get scholarship perks and political favors. She’s also the one who famously said “You didn’t build that” to companies who were protesting higher taxes.

Basically, she’s the quintessential liberal. So it’s amazing that she’s attacking some of her own. Yet for whatever reason, she is, comparing Silicon Valley to big banks that became economy-upholding monstrosities.

You know: the whole “too big to fail” deal.

The “idea of ‘too big to fail’ in the financial sector gets a lot of attention,” CNN says Warren told New America, a public-policy think tank in D.C. “But the problem isn’t unique to the financial sector. It’s hiding in plain sight all across the American economy.”

According to her, that means large corporations like Walmart and CVS, and Silicon Valley giants like Google, Apple and Amazon – the latter of which utilize what she deems to be anticompetitive business tactics.

Admittedly, some of her examples are ludicrous (really, what do you expect from someone with her track record?), including how Google’s internet search engine is much more likely to show Google-related results than those of its rivals.

If you’ll allow me a moment to stoop to her intellectual level: Ummmmm… No duh.

Companies don’t usually do well if they constantly tell customers to check out the competition.

With that said, Elizabeth Warren’s particular brand of liberal logic aside, it’s probably not a bad thing for these Silicon Valley hypocrites to be called out on the carpet they’re normally so smug about receiving favor on.
