A Worthless Greece Riots Again

So Greece went bonkers again over the weekend, rioting for the debt-funded luxuries they’ve been entitled to for so long.

Sad as the chaos and destruction is and was, it’s not at all surprising.

Greece rioted repeatedly last year, perhaps more than any of the other socialist or socialist-leaning European nations.

To be sure, Italy, Spain, France and the UK all made the news in 2011 for their immature response to proposed government spending cuts. Their locals attacked police, destroyed property and basically acted like a bunch of… well… spoiled brat socialists too used to having the nanny state government take care of them to act like mature, rational adults.

But the Greek citizenry went a step further and acted like rioting was their calling.

That’s not to say that the Greeks are by nature so much more pathetic than the rest of Europe or the rest of the world. They only won their gold medal in hoodlumry because their government had to take more drastic action than other nations so far.

Rachel Marsden, writing for Human Events, explains:

“Greece was spending beyond its means by injecting cash into a public-sector system that wasn’t in turn producing anything of real value on which it could then turn a substantial profit. When this system slid into the negative, they borrowed on credit until their credit rating tanked and they couldn’t get loans. So they turned to Europe and the IMF, which are made up of countries borrowing money themselves on credit to manage their own debts. Where in all of this is anyone actually producing anything that’s turning a significant profit? While in China, they have enough cash floating around to buy up the treasury bills of every other cash-strapped country, thereby stringing them up by the short and curlies and ensuring the red carpet treatment anywhere and everywhere they might wish to go on a round-the-world tour.”

That’s frightening in and of itself, but perhaps not more so than the basic immaturity so prominently on display in Greece right now, where over 80,000 rioters burnt down over 40 buildings in central Athens alone, outnumbering the already taxed police force five-to-one.

Could that happen in the U.S.? Unfortunately, the answer is a definite yes.

We already saw a miniature version in Wisconsin last year when Governor Scott Walker cut back on government spending, particularly when it came to union benefits. In turn, the unions went nuts, occupying the state capitol building and trashing it repeatedly.

In other words, Greece isn’t something for the U.S. to roll its eyes at or poke fun of. It’s a harbinger of what we will become if we don’t start acting like adults and taking care of ourselves.

The Himalayas Aren’t Melting After All. Except That They Are Still. So Keep Forking Over Your Money and Freedoms.

In 2009, we were all told that the Himalayas were melting at an exponentially dangerous rate and would disappear altogether by 2035.

General panic ensued until scientists realized they had made a mistake and republished the findings. The snow-capped mountain range wasn’t going to be gone by 2035, they clarified, but 2350.

Oops!

Everybody makes mistakes though, so most people were willing to go right back to drinking the Kool-Aid in their end-is-nigh tie-dye shirts after that little mix-up. If anything, global warming alarmists got even more fired up about doing Mother Nature’s work: scaring people out of their hard-earned earnings and God-given liberties under a message of repentance and reprisal.

Only it’s just come out that another mistake has been made… on top of the one announced last week, which involved a blatant admission that the world hasn’t actually warmed in the last 10 years and that we might even be facing a mini ice age…

Now on top of that we learn that, according to a brand new study based off of satellite technology, the Himalayans haven’t melted in the last 10 years.

Double (or triple) oops! How embarrassing!

Yet global warming “scientists” aren’t embarrassed at all. They’re not deterred and they’re not giving even the slightest hint of an apology to all of the people they terrified, swindled and bullied. Instead, they insist that this changes nothing.

“Our results and those of everyone else show we are losing a huge amount of water into the oceans every year,” Professor John Wahr of the University of Colorado assures. “People should be just as worried about the melting of the world’s ice as they were before.”

And according to the UK’s Guardian, “The scientists are careful to point out that lower-altitude glaciers in the Asian mountain ranges… are definitely melting… But over the study period from 2003-10 enough ice was added to the peaks to compensate.”

So in other words, the earth is going through cycles. Like it normally does. Which is why it oftentimes snows in the winter and gets hot in the summer… and why there are freak occurrences from time to time where the climate doesn’t behave how we expect it to.

But if the global warming alarmists admitted aby of those particuarly obvious facts, they wouldn’t be able to own anybody’s minds and pocketbooks. And where’d be the fun in that?

If Spanking Causes So Many Unfortunate Traits in Children, What’s Everybody Else’s Excuse?

Amidst all of the news about Santorum’s sweep in last night’s primaries – And good for him! – this is the headline that really caught my attention this morning: “Spanking kids can cause long-term harm: Canada study.”

So that’s the one that I’m writing about today.

According to Joan Durant, a professor at the University of Manitoba, and her co-author, Ron Ensom of the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario in Ottawa, spanking children can cause everything from dangerously aggressive behavior to a lower IQ.

In fact, “We’re really past the point of calling this a controversy,” Durant says. “That’s a word that’s used and I don’t know why, because in the research there really is no controversy.”

In other words, spanking is automatically psyche-altering abuse. End of story. Rather like global warming.

However, the study admits that spanking isn’t nearly as common as it used to be. What it doesn’t mention is how bad adolescent behavior has gotten over the past few decades.

These days, it’s not uncommon for middle school students (i.e. 11-14 year olds) to be having sex. And that trend is still trickling downward even to the elementary school level.

The same goes for hardcore drugs, alcohol and gang activity.

In light of Durant and Ensom’s “research,” this evaluation of reality begs the question of how many of those children have actually been spanked. And how many of those parents have taken the exact opposite routes of looking the other way or flat-out encouraging that behavior?

As a former education student who still has a number of friends in the business, I hear horror stories all the time about school children’s behavior, from K all the way up to 12. And I also hear about the parents who either flat-out condone their sons and daughters’ exceptionally immature and egocentric conduct, or just ignore it.

To them, spanking never enters into the equation, even though that could be just the thing their children need in order to leave high school without a drug addiction or an STD.

Spanking, when administered correctly, teaches children about boundaries and consequences. Boys and girls who are properly disciplined tend to not grow up into dysfunctional men and women who expect a world that caters to their needs just like their parents did… a dangerously unrealistic belief that usually leads to unfulfilled lives.

Children need serious discipline in some form or another. Because discipline is what’s needed to succeed in life.

An Out of Touch President Obama Strikes Again

In an interview with NBC’s Matt Lauer on Sunday, the PotUS said he “deserve[s] a second term… We’ve made progress. The key now is to make sure we don’t start turning in the wrong direction.”

He also said: “What’s frustrated people is that I’ve not been able to implement every aspect of what I said in 2008. Well it turns out our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change than I would like sometimes. But what we have been able to do is move in the right direction. And you know what? One of the things about being president is you get better as time goes on.”

That is how out of touch, arrogant and narcissistic President Obama really is.

Study Declares Sugar “Should Be Regulated as Strictly as Alcohol” for Our Own Good

Michelle Obama needs to stop trying to control my individuality with her healthy food kick.

It all seemed harmless enough in the beginning. But that changed quickly, as evidenced by how she bullied privately-owned restaurants like Olive Garden into cutting their calorie count. And now she’s apparently trying to set the stage to socialize sugar altogether.

Live Science released a story yesterday claiming that: “Sugar and other sweeteners are, in fact, so toxic to the human body that they should be regulated as strictly as alcohol by governments worldwide, according to a commentary in the current issue of the journal Nature by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).”

Think that Michelle Obama isn’t involved with that? Even when universities get government grants all the time for studies exactly like that one? Under corrupt administrations like the one her hubby runs, fund-recipients are essentially paid to agree with the government. Or else.

Besides, the researchers’ answer to the supposed problem fits far too nicely into President Obama’s grand scheme of bribing and taxing the American people into miserable servitude. The UCSF study concludes that the best way to combat the ravages of sugar consumption is to tax sugary foods and drinks, ban sales of such edible materials in or near schools, and set age limits on any such purchases regardless.

Because it’s that unhealthy, they say, especially when over two-thirds of the nation is overweight or obese.

First of all, the definition of “overweight” is exceedingly misleading, considering that, at 5’2 ½ and 127 lbs, I’m considered just barely within the “healthy” range. That’s quite possibly because of the extra – genetically decided – junk in my trunk, but how many other women are considered overweight because of the same “issue?” America does, after all, have significant black and Hispanic populations, not to mention that not every white woman has a naturally flat backside.

But even if the clinical/political definition wasn’t seriously skewed, it is not now nor should it ever be the government’s responsibility to decide what I can and cannot eat. Saying otherwise is both dangerously intrusive and overwhelmingly insulting.

It says that I am not an individual with individual needs and wants, and an individual ability to make my own choices and live with the consequences. It also says that government has the right to decide what I do. And what next will it say that about? What I’m allowed to think? Who I’m allowed to worship?

Sadly, it’s been trying to do both for a while now.

But just because Michelle Obama, her horrible husband, and the rest of the Nanny State government and its cronies want my individuality, they have no right to it and they can’t have it… no matter how they couch it in concern for the general welfare.

Mitt Romney Wins Florida – for Better or for Worse – Thanks to Women Voters

So Mitt Romney won the most recent round of GOP presidential nominations. And he did it in part because female Floridians flocked to him, quite possibly because they didn’t take kindly to Newt Gingrich’s womanizing past.

Or possibly because he’s better looking. Who knows these days.

As a female myself, I can’t say that I blame them if they really did go the Romney route because of the other front-runner’s sordid self. I don’t know what Gingrich is like now, but his history shows that he at least used to be quite the oinker. And it’s really hard to vote for somebody who respected women so little, especially considering the conservative uproar Republicans put up over previous pig president Bill Clinton not that long ago.

I’m not going to say that I’m thrilled with Romney winning another state on top of New Hampshire but, at this point, I’m not fully convinced that he’s any worse a conservative candidate than Gingrich.

Both have in some form or another supported a predecessor to Obamacare, both have “crossed the aisle” to make deals with liberals one too many times for comfort, and both come across as unbelievably arrogant more often than not.

(Not that the last point has anything to do with conservatism. I just find it annoying.)

Regardless, my vote is still with Rick Santorum regardless of whether he has a real chance or not. If I have the choice, I’ll go with the most conservative man or woman standing any day.

Democrat Governor Martin O’Malley Mulls Taxing Maryland Gasoline

Back in 2010, while other states were electing conservative or at least Republican governors, senators and state representatives, my idiot state of Maryland was holding firm in its unwavering commitment to stupidity.

Maryland went all – or very nearly all – Democrat during the mid-term elections. Again. Despite the vicious arrogance and wretchedly self-serving actions of the Democrat party, my state welcomed them all right back into our lives with hugs, kisses and boxes of chocolate.

Now it looks like we’re going to be paying dearly for our sheer stupidity. Literally, thanks to Democrat Governor Martin O’Malley’s proposition to add the state’s 6% sales tax to gasoline, which could make Maryland the fourth most expensive U.S. state to fill up in.

The tax, if passed, would be implemented gradually, adding 2% sales tax each year over a three year period. The result could cost Maryland drivers over $0.20 extra per gallon by the time it’s fully executed.

“Look,” O’Malley said during a local CBS interview, “none of this is easy. And I know none of it’s going to be very popular. But there’s certain things that if we don’t do we end up paying in other ways.”

He went on to say that the tax would add badly needed revenue for infrastructure projects while simultaneously creating jobs.

Obviously, the idea of cutting spending doesn’t compute in his narrow liberal brain, so let’s not even point out a few obvious fact, like how people will drive less if the tax is raised, especially that drastically. Or that they’ll probably cut back on their spending elsewhere too, since driving to the store just became so much more expensive, as did everything that gets shipped exclusively inside the state and therefore relies on Maryland gasoline to get from point A to point B.

And let’s definitely not conclude that all of the lost sales tax revenue on all of those lost sales might add up far higher than whatever the Maryland government manages to wring out of its already cash-strapped citizens at the pump.

After all, it would be a waste of time to mention any of those very clear and probable repercussions. Because this is exactly what Maryland asked for two years ago.

So there’s no point to protesting when it’s exactly what we got.

Global Warming Hasn’t Happened for 15 Years… but It’s Still Totally Happening

The University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit – made internationally famous by its numerous attempted cover ups – has issued new findings that rather seem to contradict everything it’s tried to tell us for the last who knows how many years.

Brace yourself now because, after so much education, indoctrination and flat-out brainwashing, this might come as a bit of a shock…

The Earth hasn’t really warmed for the past 15 years straight. In fact, it might even be headed for a mini ice age with shortened summers and crazier winters.

In other words, so-called climatologists have either been lying to us for the last decade or so or they’re just incredibly stupid with really faulty equipment.

(Guess where my vote is.)

They’re also now telling us that solar output – and subsequently the Earth’s temperature – goes through cycles… which almost sounds vaguely familiar. Like somebody else has been saying that for years now…

Conservatives maybe?

But of course not! Because global warming is real still. The University and its fellow “leading climate scientists” say that these colder temperatures don’t change a thing. Global warming is still happening and we’re still killing the planet. End of story.

I’d say it seems as if they married their conclusion well before they ever set out to test it. But clearly that would make me a silly conservative who thinks for herself and therefore manages to see the blatantly obvious facts when they smack her across the face.

And who wants to be that insightful?

The U.S. Economy Grows by a Measly 1.7%

1.7%.

As Business Insider states so well, “That’s the final, pathetic growth number for 2011.”

GDP grew a measly 1.7% in 2011 after (supposedly) jumping 3% in 2010. That’s what Obama’s billions and billions in so-called stimulus did. It gave us one (alleged) year of what could be considered decent growth in good times – not so much right after a recession, however – and then 1.7% the following year.

1.7%!

Maybe that’s because, instead of okaying pipelines that would result in thousands of jobs for Americans, President Obama lends out a couple billion to Brazil’s state-owned oil company Petrobras to create jobs there.

Oh, and give hundreds of millions to green energy companies that seem incapable of doing anything but going bankrupt. He does that too. The latest business on the insolvent stimulus recipients list is Ener1, which accepted $118.5 million to help it manufacture batteries for electric cars.

Taxpayers can officially wave “bye-bye” to that money, the same as they did for Solyndra and all of those other ill-conceived – but energy efficient! – ventures President Obama and his deficient Vice President Joe Biden spent so much time (and gas) talking up.

Yet he’s still out there declaring that he needs to win reelection because “the country needs it.”

Yeah, like another hole in the head.

Obama Tries to Pretend He Cares about “Common Sense”

Try asking President Obama about his continuing demands for the rich to pay “their fair share” and he’ll probably say something along the lines of: “Now I hear folks running around calling this class warfare. This is not class warfare, let me tell you something. Asking a billionaire to pay at least as much as a secretary, that’s just common sense. That’s common sense.”

I know this because he spouted off those exact misleading platitudes at yet another one of his fundraising events recently.

What Obama intentionally failed to mention is that Warren Buffett – whom he was referring to when he said “billionaire” – doesn’t actually make a traditional income, which is why he doesn’t pay the same tax rate as his secretary. He makes all of his money off of his investments, which is a completely separate category under the increasingly confusing set of inane intrusions and loopholes known as the U.S. tax code.

Besides taxing income derived from investments made with already taxed income is rather like sentencing somebody more than once for a single crime. It simply isn’t right.

It’s also important to point out that as President, Obama has failed to display more than a handful of situations – if that – where he actually utilized this “common sense” he talks about.

Common sense would focus on cutting government down to a more manageable size, not ramping up spending and insisting that “the rich” pay off the irresponsibly large tab.

Common sense also implies some level of maturity, which our Commander in Chief displays even less, especially when dealing with anybody who doesn’t worship the ground he walks on.

Just yesterday, he had a run-in with Arizona Governor Jan Brewer down in her state, where the Drudge Report writes:

“It was clear from the moment they greeted one another that this would not be a run-of-the-mill encounter between the president and a local official. At one point, she was pointing her finger and him and at another, they were talking at the same time, seemingly over each other. He appeared to walk away from her while they were still talking, and she confirmed that by saying she didn’t finish her sentence.”

And he allegedly had a similar encounter with Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal back during the BP oil spill, where he took issue with a standard political request for food stamps for those badly affected by the mess.

Clearly, with Obama so focused on getting what he wants at all cost, he is the last person who should be lecturing anybody about common sense.

What the World Can Learn from 40 Beached Pilot Whales on a New Zealand Beach

Yesterday, we got a news story about 40 beached pilot whales on a New Zealand beach, thanks to Yahoo!’s far-reaching and largely pointless efforts.

Apparently the critters came in too close to the shore and got themselves beached. Not once but twice. After volunteers “worked for hours to get them back into the sea.”

Originally, there were apparently close to 100 pilot whales that got themselves into a dry spot, 34 of which died before they could be rescued. “26 were successfully refloated late Monday and had swum offshore,” but the remaining whales worked themselves right back onto the sand.

And as of yesterday afternoon, Department of Conservation spokesman Nigel Mountford believed there was little hope left of saving the twice-foolish mammals.

The article concluded that “Mass strandings are common on the New Zealand coast and more than 50 pilot whales have died in two separate beachings in the same area in the past two months… Scientists are unsure why pilot whales beach themselves, although they speculate it may occur when their sonar becomes scrambled in shallow water or when a sick member of the pod heads for shore and others follow.”

So why focus on a bunch of animals on a political blog? I’m glad you asked…

This story highlights a couple of things that liberals would consider to be inconvenient facts and conservatives would be more likely to call “common sense:”

Number 1: Mankind is not the source of every hurt in the world. Sometimes animals hurt or kill each other, or hurt or kill themselves all on their own. In fact, watch the Discovery channel if you want some really disturbing footage of exactly how animals treat each other on a regular basis. There’s a reason – lots of them, actually – why humans are generally considered superior. Except for politicians, of course.

Number 2: Mankind cannot prevent every hurt in the world, much less save it entirely. Those very nice volunteers wasted hours and hours trying to maneuver a bunch of bulky, powerful, panicked whales off of the sand and into the water, only to have to try to do it all over again with practically two-thirds of the original group, most of which probably died. And for what? To save a planet that seems intent on keeping up its natural cycle of life and death regardless of how much any of us interfere?

It just seems much more sensible to give up on the idea of mass responsibility over the history of mankind and start thinking about personal responsibility on a day-to-day basis instead.

And the same thing goes for the whales. Who knows... Maybe they'll finally stop beaching themselves that way.

Study Finds Abortion Safer than Carrying Full Term (i.e. Government Should Get out of Women’s Reproductive Rights)

“Getting a legal abortion is much safer than giving birth, suggests a new U.S. study published Monday.” So reads a Reuters tagline, which is a heck of a lot less certain than its headline of “Abortion safer than giving birth: study.”

So which one is it?

Well, says Reuters’ writer Genevra Pittman, “Researchers found that women were about 14 times more likely to die during or after giving birth to a live baby than to die from complications of an abortion… What makes it complicated, [Dr. Bryna] Harwood added, is when the law interferes and requires doctors to state information that isn’t always balanced or medically sound – usually exaggerating the risk of abortion.”

Sure. Right. Let’s say we believe all of that. The data wasn’t skewed with third world women or abortion-related “complications” that were incorrectly labeled as birthing fatalities. And abortions are safe for everyone involved, except for the fetus which really doesn’t matter anyway, rather like slaves didn’t matter in the U.S. before the Civil War and Jews didn’t matter under Nazi rule.

But even so, we still have a problem…

Essentially, the article and those quoted in it – purely representing one side of the argument, might I add – favor the government getting out of people’s business. If a woman wants to have an abortion, let it just be between her and her doctor, they say.

But name one other area of life where liberals such as Pittman and her sources consider this right to privacy.

They certainly don’t when it comes to businesses, which they think should be regulated up and down. Children should be taught what the schools deem appropriate, even if completely extreme and one-sided, instead of what parents feel is right. Our means of transportation, the wages we get to keep, what we can and cannot eat, even how we’re buried…

The government butts into absolutely everything, including every other area of the medical world, where it rules and regulates and picks and chooses.

But abortion is supposed to be different somehow?

Even from a staunchly liberal kill-baby-kill standpoint, it makes little sense to intrude on every area but one. Especially one that is nothing short of murder, a progressive form of chauvinism and a general cancer to society as a whole.

That all leads to one very important thought… that the government is intruding just as much into the abortion issue as anything else. It’s just taking a different tactical approach to controlling us.

The Way Students Rely on Wikipedia for Their Facts Doesn’t Say Much for America

You know what’s wrong with America?

Well, at this point, just about everything. But let’s focus on our education system for now.

When Wikipedia blacked out its site this past Wednesday in protest of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA), which could all too easily be used to censor websites and content posted online, students freaked out, tweeting complaints such as:

“Wikipedia can’t go! How on earth and I going to do my history homework?”

“They shut down Wikipedia? DAMN IT. I have a lab report due tomorrow.”

“How am I supposed to do my homework without Wikipedia. Dear good grades, #yourtimesup”

This does not say anything good for what America is becoming or even what it is now.

Despite Wikipedia becoming less unreliable over the last few years thanks to its new source requirements, it’s still not exactly welcome in the scientific community. Professionals don’t go around citing Wikipedia as a general rule. And with good reason, since the site’s content is still user-created.

Yet directly or indirectly, children are still being encouraged to utilize the database as fact instead of possible fiction. Blame it on Hollywood’s message of instant gratification, parental neglect and/or stupidity, or America’s education system in general, which usually does everything but teach students to dig deeper than the easy or the popular thing to do… But it’s a problem regardless.

Yahoo! Shine’s Piper Weiss writes that Wikipedia can be “a boon for education. If used correctly – that’s to say with skepticism and non-exclusivity – it can lead students to stronger sources, teach them the value of investigation and even the importance of questioning the true nature of fact.”

But what in America makes her think most children – or even adults – have any desire to do any of that? The repeated flash gang riots in Philadelphia last year? The lazy, greedy, destructive Occupy Wall Street movement, which was filled with college-aged products of public education? The high levels of teen pregnancy – when contraception is readily available – drug and alcohol abuse?

Perhaps one anonymous student summed it up best with his or her tweet of “Dear Wikipedia, I get where you’re coming from but this blackout business is bull. I have homework to do.”

Translation: Nothing matters except myself in this very moment and not a second or person beyond.

And that’s what’s wrong with America.

Joe Biden Tells San Francisco that the New York Giants Are Going to the Super Bowl

Remember then-Senator Obama’s St. Louis gaffe during the 2008 presidential elections?

While in Kansas City, Missouri, he communicated with the Democratic National Convention via satellite. Apparently traveling without his teleprompter, the president-to-be said that he was “here with the Girardo family here in St. Lous”… when Kansas City and St. Louis have a sports rivalry along the lines of New York and Boston, or Dallas and… well… everybody outside of Dallas.

Never to be outdone in the stupid mistakes department though, Joe Biden might very well have just topped his boss on Wednesday, proving once again that, of the pair, President Obama is the mad scientist of the two and Biden is the dangerous but still snicker-worthy minion.

Carla Marinucci writes in the San Francisco Gate that “Vice President Joe Biden had his ‘oops’ moment Wednesday speaking in a 49er-crazed San Francisco when he told a crowd at a city political fundraiser that ‘the Giants are on their way to the Super Bowl.’”

First off, I have to take serious issue with Marinucci’s sentence structure, which seems to strongly suggest that Biden isn’t already well known for turning himself and his constituents into a national and international embarrassment every time he opens his mouth.

Second of all, what an idiot!

And thirdly, just remember… It’s Republicans like George W. Bush and conservatives like Sarah Palin that are the dumb ones.

Obama Rejects the Keystone Pipeline, Choosing Votes over the Good of the Country

Back on January 13th, the Chicago chapter of CBS News ran an article titled “Gas Outlook: ‘Most Painful Year At Pump Ever.’”

The piece detailed how gasoline prices could hit somewhere uncomfortably close to $5 a gallon by Memorial Day, without much relief over the summer.

“Gas prices always spike in the summer,” it read. “But the 2012 Gasbuddy.com Price Outlook predicts this summer will break records. ‘It looks like it might be the most painful year at the pump that we have ever seen,’ senior analyst Patrick DeHaan said.”

And the article continues to quote him on exactly why that might happen. Specifically, he blames the “improving” economy, and current tensions between Iran and the U.S. over the Middle Eastern nation’s aggressive attempts to develop nuclear weapons.

What he fails to mention and CBS fails to report (no big surprise there) is that prices wouldn’t be nearly so high even now if the U.S. government would just stop pandering to the kind of insane environmentalists that value animal and plant life over human beings.

You know, like the kind that deemed it improper to kill rats (the rodent kind, not the politicians) in Washington D.C. Or the kind that deliberately interfere with or even prevent attempts to acquire oil.

And yes, I’m talking about President Obama and his recent rejection of the Keystone XL oil sands pipeline proposition.

That project would have made it easier and cheaper over the long-term for the U.S.’s neighboring ally, Canada, to transport its black gold around. And while it wouldn’t be completed for some time, of course, short and mid-term speculation would still positively affect oil prices to give consumers everywhere at least a bit of relief.

Then there’s the fact that, some 100,000 U.S. citizens could easily get jobs working on the U.S. portion of the pipeline. But Obama doesn’t care about the American people’s income or expenses. He cares about reelection.

Even the Hill admits the decision “will likely go a long way toward improving rocky relations with environmental groups,” all but blatantly calling it a political move to “shore up his base.”

It also speculates that “Obama’s decision could make him more vulnerable to criticisms that his policies are disrupting the private sector and costing the economy jobs, especially if the economy worsens.”

So if oil prices climb higher as predicted this Summer – or even if gasoline doesn't drop down past the painfully inflated prices it's at now – don’t just blame Iran. Blame the sitting U.S. president… and remember this come November.

Washington D.C. Opts to Protect Rat’s Rights

Forget the dogs. They’re old news. These days, Washington D.C. is going to the rats.

And quite literally, thanks to the Wildlife Protection Act of 2010, which protects vermin from extermination.

Yes, it is now illegal in the District of Columbia to kill a rat. Instead, the disease-ridden and potentially dangerous critters have to be captured – in families if at all possible – and relocated, possibly to a “wildlife rehabilitator” if need be.

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli accurately describes the law as “crazier than fiction” and understandably takes issue with the neighboring D.C.’s self-imposed legal inability to “kill the dang rats.”

As he describes, this poses a major problem for Virginia…

“They have to capture them – then capture them in families. [Not sure] how you’re going to figure that out with rats. And then you have to relocate them. That brings us to Virginia. Now, if you don’t relocate them about 25 miles away, according to experts, rodents will find their way back. Well, an easy way to solve that problem is to cross a river, and what’s on the other side of the river? Virginia.”

In the D.C. politician’s defense, they’re probably just trying to defend themselves from any loose – or literal – definitions of the word “rat.”

But even so, inconveniencing people to this extent all in order to protect creatures that would really and truly eat us alive if given the chance is nothing short of insane. And it doesn’t say much for what this country is becoming either.

Stephen Colbert Needs to Keep His High Profile Opinions to Comedy Central

Stephen Colbert of the Colbert Report can be a funny guy.

Yes, I know that he mocks conservatives up and down but that doesn’t mean I can’t laugh at his ridiculous antics from time to time… like his 2008 commentary on the Belgians buying out Budweiser, which was downright hysterical!

Right now, however, the Comedy Central faux news commentator is something very far from amusing.

Ever since President Obama got elected nearly four years ago, Colbert has gotten it into his head that he’s something more than just an intentional joke.

First there was the 2010 “March to Keep Fear Alive,” which was created to mock the Tea Party and sway the mid-term elections. And then, around the same time, he actually went to Congress to give his “expert” opinion on immigration and why we need as many illegal ones as possible.

Now, he’s directly butting into the GOP presidential field.

Like he’s an expert on something other than satirical commentaries on matters he doesn’t care to learn the truth about?

Colbert might very well think that he’s helping out by interfering in something as serious as America’s future. I don’t know him, so I can’t say one way or the other.

What I can say, however, is that he’s not doing anybody – himself included – any favors by making light of an overwhelming ignorance on issues that is destroying this nation.

It’s high time Colbert learns that lesson, though he seems set on ignoring it until it’s too late.

Tim Tebow and the Taliban

What do conservative Christians and the Taliban have in common?

A lot, according to blogger Rick Marazzani, who thinks that while conservative Christian “Tim Tebow looks like an All-American guy” on the outside, “he has more in common with the Taliban than with our Founding Fathers.”

Obviously, Marazzani knows nothing about conservative Christians, Tim Tebow, the Taliban or our Founding Fathers if he’s honestly going to make such an inane comparison. Like so many other liberals out there, he seems hell bent on proving himself an ignoramus extraordinaire.

But – just for kicks and giggles – let’s throw out the most obvious difference between the Taliban and conservatives… one that should be apparent to anybody, no matter how ill-educated or brain-deficient: Conservatives don’t go around killing people like the Taliban do. (There’s also the matter of our God actually being God, but that’s another discussion for another day.)

If anybody shares characteristics with the Taliban, it would be liberals, who uphold the murder of unborn children as a sacred right and go around shooting people up on any given day. After all, have you ever met a conservative thug?

Probably not.

But let’s move on to the Founding Fathers, who Tebow – with his belief that “procreation is from God, a precious trust reserved for marriage,” “all Christians are under obligation to seek to make the will of Christ supreme in their own lives,” and “all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy” as Marazzani accuses – apparently has nothing in common with…

Thomas Jefferson closed his second inaugural address by asking America to seek “the favor of that Being in whose hands we are, who led our forefathers, as Israel of old.”

In George Washington’s 1789 Thanksgiving Day Proclamation, he spoke of it being “the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor.”

Benjamin Franklin successfully calmed down his fellow delegates at the 1787 Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia with these words: “In the beginning of the Contest with Great Britain, when we were sensible of danger, we had daily prayer in this room for the Divine protection. Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered… I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth – that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid?”

To be fair, according to distinguished scholar and author Dr. Mark David Hall, when it comes to America having a Christian founding, “history is complicated, and we should always be suspicious of simple answers to difficult questions.”

But it still seems overwhelmingly safe to say that the Founding Fathers would probably get along a lot better with Tim Tebow than liberals like Rick Marazzani who are ignorantly turning America into one big sad joke.

Homeland Security Trolls Facebook, Hulu and YouTube to Establish “Situational Awareness”… Whatever That Means

Today, let’s focus on Homeland Security’s Big Sis, Janet Napolitano, and her insane, Obama-approved invasion of American life.

As we’re just learning now, the government has been carefully watching certain popular websites for the past 18 months, including:

• Facebook
• Twitter
• The Drudge Report
• The Huffington Post
• Parts of The New York Times and ABC News
• Hulu
• YouTube
• Any “blogs that cover bird flu… news and activity along U.S. borders… [and] drug trafficking and cybercrime”

Kinda makes me wonder if they’re watching me… (If so, I’ll take the increased traffic!)

They say it’s all for the purpose of collecting “information used in providing situational awareness and establishing a common operating picture.” And no, that doesn’t make any sense in English or any other language, unless you speak liberal, which fortunately, I do.

Translation: They want to do whatever they want to do without any repercussions. (Strangely enough, that’s how most liberal statements translate, but moving on…)

In the case of Hulu, this means kicking back and watching One Tree Hill (and yes, it’s still on somehow) whenever they don’t feel like actually earning their taxpayer-paid salaries.

The same goes for Facebook and Twitter (usually to post their thoughts on One Tree Hill, something along the line of “OMG! Chad Michael Murray is like sooooooo hot!”), though I’m sure they also troll for opinions about Obama in between commercial breaks.

More than likely, they added the Huffington Post so they could be sure to bulk up on their “news” every day. But clearly, they hit up YouTube to replay their favorite parts of One Tree Hill… You know, the snapshot collages set to N’Sync songs of old.

In all seriousness, Napolitano, her minions and her own evil master have no real business poking into the lives of random U.S. citizens and corporations that have no known connection to terrorist-related activity. And besides, don’t they have anything better to do with their time?

Apparently not though. And that’s a scary thought.

Mitt Romney Takes New Hampshire but It’s Not Over ‘Til It’s Over

So Mitt Romney won in New Hampshire and won it big with 39% of the vote, sending much of the conservative population in this country into a depressed funk.

But here’s the thing: New Hampshire was always Romney’s. There was never any chance of anybody else taking it home.

Why? Because Romney is arguably the most liberal conservative among the GOP presidential hopefuls, and New England is predominantly filled with liberals of one stripe or another.

Case in point: Jon Huntsman managed to get 17% of the vote. Where else is that going to happen?

Thinking about the whole situation this morning, I told myself that it wasn’t over until it was over. And then I really stopped and thought about it…

Because it isn’t. Hasn’t this crazy race with so many one-time leaders shown us that? There are still several key states to conquer, including the upcoming South Carolina caucus. And Newt Gingrich groups, for one, are busy plotting vicious – but not necessarily untrue – attacks on frontrunner Romney even now.

Anything can happen going forward… kinda like this past Sunday’s matchup between the highly-favored Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos.

(And yes, here I go again. But it really is relevant!)

From the beginning, that game was a nail-biter for anybody rooting for Tim Tebow and the Broncos. For myself, I didn’t really start believing that they might have a chance until their second touchdown, and then the Steelers took control of the game and it seemed like they were going to win instead.

They didn’t though, merely matching the Broncos’ score and sending them into overtime where anything could happen. And it did in the most unexpected way possible, with a beautifully thrown pass, a perfect catch and a triumphant run right into the endzone.

The Broncos won with style and flair that quite simply doesn’t happen in most football games.

And considering all of the trash talk about Tim Tebow and his Christianity, it was like some superpower (for kicks and giggles, let’s just say God) had it all mapped out so that He would get the maximum amount of glory in the end. Keeping everybody at the edge of their seats was just a way of getting everybody’s attention.

So here’s a thought for all of those conservatives now clinically depressed about Romney’s double-state win. For all we know, God might just be playing up to a big, spectacular surprise finish that will turn heads and get people talking.

I don’t pretend to know exactly how God works, so I’m not going to say for sure that’s what’s going on one way or the other.

I’m just saying that it’s not over ‘til it’s over. And God has everything in His hands regardless.

Are We Really Feeling Bad for Tom Brady because Tim Tebow “Stole” His Spotlight?

Sorry to go all football yet again, but with all of this “Tebow-Mania,” as the mainstream media has dubbed it (when really, it’s them obsessing over how much they dislike him like little girls fighting over who’s prettier) it’s kinda hard not to.

I really do have the capability to write about other topics, such as our latest example of Muslims gone wild: Sami Osmakac, who had plans to blow up parts of Tampa, Florida since, “We all have to die, so why not die the Islamic way?”

Lovely, right?

That brief bout of information and still inspiring though admittedly brief commentary proves that I can, in fact, concentrate on non-Tim Tebow topics. And I will again just as soon as the media stops writing snarky pieces about the Denver Broncos’ quarterback.

Snarky pieces like the one published yesterday by the ever-biased Reuters. This time was no exception, as the opening lines established quite quickly…

“Long before Tebow-Mania swept across North America, football fans had a fascination for another National Football League (NFL) quarterback with a no less compelling story. With three Super Bowl titles and a supermodel wife, Tom Brady has been a player fans gravitated to for much of the past decade as the New England Patriots triggerman, with details of his glamorous life and glittering career filling newspapers, magazines and hours of NFL Sunday pre-game shows.”

Ok... Number One: We’re really going to compare conservative Christian Tim Tebow to I’m-So-Cool-Because-I-Married-a-Slutty-Victoria-Secret-Super-Model Tom Brady? Really? That’s like weighing diamonds against cubic zirconium: One matters a lot less to anyone who knows what’s real.

And Number Two: We’re really going to boo hoo for Brady for not getting as much attention? Really? It’s like… No, there really aren’t any good comparisons for how ridiculous this one is.

Brady is one of those exceptionally talented and good-looking athletes that think they’re superior to everyone else because they can maneuver a ball and look hot doing it. Rather like David Beckham. (Honestly, I’ve never seen the mass appeal in either, but I grant that they’re both held up as crush material.) And that’s insufferably annoying.

But that’s Tom Brady, who walked out onto the field during Super Bowl XLII in 2008 as if he was the only thing worth talking about. Ever.

Going into that game, I didn’t care who won: the then-undefeated and heavily favored Patriots or the New York Giants. But after that one look at Brady, I was suddenly very certain I wanted him to eat dirt. Which he did, proving yet again that there really is a God.

Which is exactly what bugs the mainstream media so very much about Tim Tebow. He reminds them that there’s more to life than what Tom Brady stands for. And that scares them.

Denver Broncos Take on Favored Pittsburgh Steelers and Take It Home in Overtime

Anybody who watched the Steelers-Broncos game last night had to be impressed with quarterback Tim Tebow and the team.

Were there mistakes made? Certainly, including several overthrown passes and that darned interception that seemed to temporarily throw the Broncos off of their game and the Steelers onto it again.

But none of that really matters considering the end result, which was Tebow, in the first 11 seconds of overtime, throwing a perfect pass to Demaryius Thomas, who ran it down the field for a touchdown that had at least three people outside of the Broncos' stadium on their feet and screaming.

(I know because I was one of them and watching the game with the other two, who don’t even happen to be big Broncos fans. That’s how good it was!)

As teammate Willis McGahee said after the game, “He’s showed he’s a quarterback in the NFL. Case closed. They say he couldn’t throw. They said we wouldn’t be able to run the ball on them. We did that. I wonder what they’re going to say next week.”

Considering how much “they” dislike Tim Tebow for his unapologetic Christianity – and that pro-life ad he ran during the 2010 Super Bowl – I can predict exactly what “they” are going to say or, at the very least, hope.

“They” want him down and out, because he’s a reminder of just how vile “they” really can be in their support of what is infanticide – i.e. murder – by a less-controversial name. “They” can’t really forgive him for that, so “they” will always be hoping he fails, especially against a team like the Patriots, who – let’s face it – could easily cream the Broncos in the next round of Playoff games.

A friend of mine recently blogged about the media’s love-hate (as is love to hate) relationship with Tim Tebow, asking the question why “they” picked on him so much when thanking God before and after games isn’t all that uncommon in the NFL.

At the time, I couldn’t come up with any decent reason either…

Until I remembered Focus on the Family’s Super Bowl ad.

And then all of the facts clicked into place and I had my answer.

Clearly, “they” would have been much happier with Tebow if his mother had decided to take the doctor’s advice and kill him like a good, little liberal.

Or if he’d just keep his mouth shut like a good, little conservative.

Nonfarm Payrolls Rise to 200,000 and Unemployment Slides to 8.5%… Or Did They?

We’ve got the economic data back for December’s unemployment numbers. And great news! Nonfarm payrolls increased 200,000 according to Labor Department calculations.

They tell us that’s the most it’s risen in three months and, according to Reuters, “way above economists’ expectations for a 150,000 gain.” On top of that, the unemployment rate has slid from 8.6% to 8.5%.

Awesome, right?

Completely! Except, of course, for a few pesky little details that aren’t mentioned until the end of the story if at all…

This is the month of December, as in the month that Christmas is in, as in the month that there’s usually an increased amount of shoppers, as in the month that employers usually take on seasonal help.
Not as many jobs were created in October and November than originally thought, therefore there were less jobs “available” to be had, which means that the government unemployment number shrinks on its own... not because the economy is getting any healthier.
The government quietly revises its unemployment numbers just about every time they release this kind of news. They just do it a few weeks after everybody is done celebrating the inaccurate original numbers so that nobody really notices.
There are still 20 million unemployed or underemployed in the U.S. today.

Also “way above?” Is Reuters in middle school or something? Next thing we know, it’s going to start talking about how “like totally ballin’” Obama is or ask him to sign its yearbook.

Pathetic.

The whole thing is just one more game of smoke and mirrors on the part of the president and his media minions. And they’re trying to play us all for fools.

Obama Refuses “to Take No for an Answer” and Does What He Wants To Do As Usual

“I refuse to take ‘no’ for an answer,” President Obama said yesterday about his implementation of four staff members that Congress should have been able to approve or deny.

As the Washington Times reports: “Pushing the limits of his recess appointment powers, President Obama on Wednesday bypassed the Senate to install three members of the National Labor Relations Board and a director for the controversial new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau – moves Republicans said amounted to unconstitutional power grabs.”

That’s a pretty decent way to describe what happened except that it isn’t just Republicans who think Obama is grossly overstepping his executive authority. The usually liberal-friendly Bloomberg bluntly states that “the president is playing with fire” since he’s calling the installments “‘recess appointments’ even though Congress technically wasn’t in recess”… even if Obama says it was.

Bloomberg even goes to speculate that Obama “is choosing politics over principle, and playing dangerously with the Constitution’s checks and balances, in choosing to tell the Senate when it is and is not in session.”

But White House lawyers say their boss has every legal right to spit on our founding fathers’ intentions. And really, what else can we expect from a President with a complete lack of morals when it comes to his political machinations?

Unfortunately, just because this isn’t at all surprising doesn’t make it any less dangerous. And this IS dangerous; make no mistake about that.

His refusal “to take ‘no’ for an answer” has brought us one step further from a mere nanny state government into pure, unadulterated socialism… the kind that leads to gross human rights violations, destruction and death. Not that there’s any other kind.

Obama's actions in the past few weeks (and the past few years) – including how he authorized the U.S. military to detain and imprison U.S. citizens ‘suspected of terrorism’ without any recognized rights or even specified charges – violate the very concept of a free society, regardless of whether or not he promises he won’t abuse the power he keeps demanding, which we all know he will because he’s a power-hungry madman.

He’s already shown us far too many times and all too well that he will take whatever steps he needs to in order to get his own way. The Constitution, the American people, American ideals and even basic decency don’t matter to Barack Hussein Obama.

And that’s more than sad. That’s scary.

Mitt Romney Wins Iowa by Eight Votes on Rick Santorum

So the Iowa battle is over and Mitt Romney won. By 8 votes.

Rick Santorum came in second place, followed by Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, Rick Perry and Michelle Bachmann. Jon Huntsman (a.k.a. That Other Guy) didn’t bother to run in Iowa at all.

This news means that I’m now willing to talk about it all, largely because there’s now actually something to talk about, instead of resorting to idle speculation in a race that has been nothing short of unpredictable from the start.

Mitt Romney was definitely one of my fill in the blank answers to yesterday’s “better not be” candidate. He implemented RomneyCare, for heaven’s sake, has defended global warming theories like a liberal lemming, and is generally far too RINO (Republican In Name Only) for my tastes or the country’s desperately deepening needs.

What’s not to dislike?

Then again, the man’s also not Obama. So if Romney does in fact win the Republican nomination – and that is by no means guaranteed just because he won a single state – well then, he’s still a far better shot than the evil dictator we currently call President.

But again, winning one state does not make a GOP presidential candidate, especially when Santorum came in such a ridiculously close second. The same goes for Ron Paul, for that matter and even, possibly, Newt Gingrich, Ricky Perry and Michelle Bachmann.

Remember, Bachmann, Paul, Gingrich and Santorum all surged heavily in the past when everybody else had long since counted them out. Who’s to say it can’t happen again?

This is one of those quintessential time-will-tell situations, where the future winner really is so completely up in the air that it’s all but pointless to speculate too heavily.

What is not pointless, however, is for other Republicans out there in the other 49 states that have not yet voted to really consider the candidates, their values and what kind of president they would make.

Because while just about anybody is better than Obama, we can do better than “Better.” We can do “Best.” And that’s exactly what we should shoot for.

Anything but Iowa

I’m going to be honest with you guys… I really don’t want to write about Iowa, the GOP presidential hopefuls, or the elections at all right now.

Why not? No idea. But it’s my blog and I can ignore headline-catching news, thereby sacrificing potential search engine hits, if I want to.

Maybe that’s the problem though. Maybe I’m just sick to death of all the headlines trying to tell me why I should or shouldn’t be in love with Ron Paul, Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, Rick Santorum, Michelle Bachmann and… ummm… that other guy who nobody cares about.

Why is he even bothering to stay in at this point anyway?

Or maybe I’m still bitter that my man, Herman Cain, got bumped out before it even really started. That could be it too.

But the final fact in my opinion is that I just want it to be over and done with. And when it is, I’ll write about it.

As in tomorrow. Right now, I have no predictions how this crazy race is going to play out.

All I’m going to say for the time being is that it won’t be Huntsman and it better not be…

40,000 New State Laws Take Affect in 2012

I write a lot about government interference at the national level. But let’s face it: It happens at the state level as well, as evidenced by the near-40,000 state laws set to take affect this new year of 2012.

40,000.

That’s a four with four zeros after it, which equates to an average 800 new laws every U.S. citizen within the 50 states has to memorize and abide by on any given day in 2012… along with the countless other rules, regulations and ridiculousness that we are expected to follow.

If this is freedom, than old school Russia, present-day China and Hugo Chavez’ Venezuela should only be seen as moderately rights-impaired instead of communist deathtraps.

According to MSNBC, 2012’s lengthy list of new state laws includes New Hampshire’s statute that minors have either their parents’ or a judge’s signed consent to get an abortion, California’s curriculum change to teach homosexuality even more blatantly in the classroom, and Georgia’s determination that all golf carts must be registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Because golf carts can kill, you know. They’re, like, really dangerous.

Now some of those legislative decrees might make sense depending on your political leaning, but one way or the other none of them should be necessary.

Even if abortion is a simplistic medical procedure involving only a female, a doctor and some surgical equipment, a minor should automatically be expected to have her parents’ consent to have one done… just like she would for any other healthcare-related activity.

As for the decision to preach homosexuality from the bully classroom, isn’t that intertwining politics and religion? ‘Cause it certainly ain’t science.

And the golf carts restrictions are just inane and, more than likely, more a ploy to make more money for the government than any concern about state citizen safety.

These laws that we’re supposed to uphold merely try – and fail – to take the place of common sense, which is rapidly decreasing in this country thanks to heavy government intervention at every level. They turn us from intelligent, self-respecting individuals into mass dependants that will serve neither ourselves nor our country any good in the end.

U.S. politicians are too shortsighted to care about that distinction or the consequences of their actions. But 2012 is high time for U.S. citizens to.

Sweetie the Panda Bear Makes the BBC’s Female Faces of the Year for 2011

Women everywhere, get offended! The BBC just heralded a panda as one of its 12 female Faces of the year 2011.

Really, what better way to end this year and ring in 2012 than to complain about the ridiculousness that is the global media?

Ok. Ok. As stories go, featuring Sweetie the panda as December’s most talked about woman is relatively harmless, especially compared to the nauseatingly long list of other media ridiculousness that ran rampant throughout papers and newsites the rest of the year.

Still, equating an animal to women worldwide (but more specifically U.S. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff and sister-of-the-princess Pippa Middleton, who all made the list right up there with Sweetie) serves as just one more example of how utterly insignificant the mainstream media has become.

With stories like that, it’s no wonder Fox News holds 2011’s top 13 most-watched cable news programs. There’s really not much else out there when it comes to traditional news outlets.

Here’s hoping that 2012 is filled with a lot more truth and common sense and a lot less propaganda and pointlessness.

Who Cares about Bill Maher’s Tim Tebow Tweets?

Judging by his observable behavior, Denver Broncos’ quarterback Tim Tebow seems like a decent guy.

And, by the same rule, so-called comedian Bill Maher seems like a pretty pointless person who doesn’t deserve the time of day.

Maher, the writer and star of the 2008 commentary “Religulous” – a movie that mocked religion in no uncertain terms – thrives on saying nasty things to cover up his intellectual and societal inadequacies. So it should come as absolutely no surprise that he doesn’t like Tim Tebow, an avowed Christian who isn’t ashamed of what he believes.

Considering the obnoxious, unethical and/or downright illegal behavior of so many other NFL stars – Terrell Owens, Michael Vick and even Brett Favre come to mind – it seems rather stupid to get so riled up by Tebow’s good behavior. But Bill Maher is a supremely stupid man, which is why he tweeted:

“Wow, Jesus just #@*! Tim Tebow bad! And on Xmas Eve! Somewhere… Satan is tebowing, saying to Hitler “Hey, Buffalo’s killing them”

Oh, and he didn't say #@*!. Self-censorship isn't something that Maher believes in.

Admittedly, the Broncos – which consist of more than just Tim Tebow, fyi – lost badly to the Buffalo Bills. And I’ll confess to cringing as I watched the score tick closer and closer to the humiliating 14-40 loss.

But guess what? Losses – even big ones – are part of life just like wins are. They don’t mean that Jesus hates Tim Tebow or that he isn’t exactly what he claimed to be.

Only a supremely stupid someone would try to think otherwise.

So here’s the bottom line on the issue: Bill Maher has made it his personal and professional purpose to prove himself pointless. And since he doesn’t have the power to affect our safety in any way, shape or form, it’s best just to ignore him altogether.

Maybe if we do, he’ll go away.

Anyone Can Get through Airport security with a Fake Boarding Pass but the TSA Takes the Cake

The TSA takes the cake.

Literally.

Just ask Joe Maltese, whose mother-in-law packed a chocolate cake inside his suitcase, unbeknownst to him. But when he opened it up back home, he got a double surprise: Not only was the cake there, but there was also a decent third neatly sliced out of it.

Neither he, nor his wife, nor his mother-in-law claim responsibility for the missing chunk. And so Maltese contacted the TSA about it, since his luggage also featured a sticker marking that it had been checked.

Go figure, the TSA said it wasn’t their fault either. According to them, they meticulously went through their video feed, in which they saw nothing of any such cake violations.

And it’s not like we have any reason to distrust them other than that they’ve molested children, the elderly and everybody in between with their unprovoked patdowns; behaved completely unprofessional while handling traveler’s luggage and body scans (e.g. stealing stuff, purposely overlooking weed, writing sexually suggestive notes, etc.); picked prison-stay-inducing fights with colleagues, and wasted billions of taxpayer dollars.

Oh right, and they also don’t actually protect us from terrorists either.

Charles C. Mann recently met up with Bruce Schneier, an understandably constant critic of the TSA, who just happens to be a cryptographer and security technologist as well. Schneier is also the man who’s proven just how easy it is to get through airport security with a Photoshopped old boarding pass.

So “Has the nation simply wasted a trillion dollars protecting itself against terror?” Mann muses. His answer is far from satisfactory: “Mostly, but perhaps not entirely.”

Schneier addresses the problem with fairly flawless logic: The government should focus on nipping terrorist plots well before they reach the final phase. “That’s how the British caught the liquid bombers. They never got anywhere near the plane. That’s what you want – not catching them at the last minute as they try to board the flight.”

Put like that, it rather makes a girl wonder just how stupid our government really is.

“It’s infuriating,” Schneier sums it all up easily. “We’re spending billions upon billions of dollars doing this – and it is almost entirely pointless. Not only is it not done right, but even if it was… it would be the wrong thing to do.”

Considering the over bloated bureaucracy in control these days, that isn’t surprising at all.

CAIR’s List of Questions for the 2012 Presidential Elections’ Candidate Field

It’s Christmas time, a time when normal Americans make lots and lots of lists: shopping lists, wish lists, to-do lists, lists of reasons to be thankful... You get the picture.

Liberals, on the other hand, need no such silly excuse as Christmas to make lists. They make lists all year round, and most of them are negative: lists of enemies to cross; lists of how exactly to aggravate business, slow the economy and dispirit workers; lists of ways to lie, cheat and steal without getting caught.

CAIR (the Council on American-Islamic Relations) is as liberal an organization as you can come by, if you define “liberal” as conniving, illogical and self-serving. So it’s no surprise that CAIR has a list of its own, one directed at the remaining GOP presidential nominees.

Here is its list of questions:

1. Racial and Religious Profiling/Homeland Security: A number of law enforcement agencies use race, ethnicity, national origin, or religion to identify and target individuals for heightened security attention even where there is no indication of wrongdoing. Do you feel relying on these types of characteristics is an effective tactic for protecting America? If not, then what methods do you endorse?

2. Transportation Security (No Fly List): Many Americans report being subject to additional screening when traveling by air or through U.S. borders as a result being incorrectly placed on one of several government watch lists. Would you provide an effective, expeditious means through which persons placed on a government watch list could have themselves removed?

3. Immigration Reform: Do you favor an immigration reform package that includes a path to legalization, an increase in family visas, and restrictions on the lengths of detentions? If not, what would you do differently?

4. International 1 (Afghanistan): What is your plan for bringing our troops home from Afghanistan without sacrificing American prestige and regional stability?

5. International 2 (Arab Spring): Popular protests and upheavals across the Middle East and North Africa have toppled authoritarian regimes and provided new hope that democracy will emerge in the region. How will your administration support this ongoing process of regional democratization?

6. Healthcare (Insurance Coverage): What is your solution to the twin problems of rising healthcare costs and large numbers of uninsured people?

The Daily Caller Gives Us “Government Spending at Its Stupidest”

What would we do without amazing conservative websites like the Daily Caller, which gives us lists like “Top ten: Government spending at its stupidest?”

Thanks to them, we learn invaluable facts about what the government is doing with our hard-earned taxpayer money, like recklessly spending:

1. $130,987 for dragon robots: “We think the phrase ‘dragon robots’ sounds pretty cool. But when their purpose is to help develop preschoolers’ vocabulary, that’s when we get a little worried. The National Science Foundation will spend nearly $1 million over four years to determine if the dragon-shaped robot can enhance toddlers’ learning skills – because Elmo and Barney are just so 1990s.”

2. $175,587 for a study on the link between cocaine and the mating habits of quail: “The funding for this super-important scientific study is down from its 2010 level of $181,406. But we think the amount is ridiculous for research that proves what the film ‘Blow’ already did: that cocaine is linked to high-risk sexual activity.”

3. $96,000 on iPads for kindergartners: “One school district was awarded this grant to buy every kindergarten student the latest Apple gadget. These kids can’t add yet, but thanks to Uncle Same they’ll never need to.”

4. $147,138 to build a magic museum: “Maybe the wizards at the American Museum of Magic in Marshall, Mich., can make the federal deficit disappear. The grant was awarded to promote the “history of magic entertainment.”

5. $48,700 towards the Second Annual Hawaii Chocolate Festival: “These funds were awarded to promote Hawaii’s chocolate industry. The Aloha State is already full of sandy beaches, clear blue water, and sun. Why do they get all the good stuff/ (That’s the mayor of Hershey, Pennsylvania on Line 1.)”

6. $484,000 for a pizza restaurant: “Arlington, Texas has one more beer and pizza joint, thanks to this grant to a private developer. The groovy Mellow Mushroom, a national chain, is known for its hippie theme.”

7. $606,000 for a study about online dating: “Columbia University researchers received over a half-million dollars to study online dating. Maybe the Ivy League nerds who conducted this study should put down the lab coats and go to a bar – or at least the library.”

8. $55,660 on butter packaging: “Kriemhild Dairy Farms received this chunk of change to package their grass-fed cow butter. The funding isn’t the only thing that’s too big: The butter itself is 85 percent fat.”

9. $136,555 for teachers to retrace Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales in England: “This grant, awarded to teachers from Kent State and Eastern Illinois Universities, allowed Middle English fanatics to take the trip outlined in Canterbury Tales. We’re betting £10 that the tour guides just make up half of the landmarks.”

10. 764,825 for a study on how college students use cell phones and social media: “The National Science Foundation awarded the University of Notre Dame this grant to study the mobile and social media habits of college freshmen. We can tell you exactly how college freshmen use mobile phones and social media: for 3 a.m. texts and phone calls to that girl in American History. We could have saved the government a lot of money. Just ask us.”

Of course, considering the size of our national debt and deficit, those amounts might not really seem like that big of a deal. But you know what they say: A couple hundred thousand dollars here and a couple hundred thousand dollars there can really add up before you know it.

If Women Ruled the World

According to some people, if women ruled the world, there would be no more war.

There would be no more power struggles, or rape or poverty or ill-educated children. Only songs sung to fluffy bunnies and friendly unicorns, while everyone wears lots of pink.

And yes, the notion is that ridiculous.

Despite PC notions of sex and gender, women are still human beings. And human beings have a nasty tendency to want what they want, when they want it and how they want it.

The only things that keep most people in check are the natural codes of ethics we’re created with and the legal ramifications of behaving badly. It might be tempting, after all, to lie, cheat, steal and abuse, but hopefully not enough to suffer the consequences.

But if men and women choose to ignore their consciences or consider the potential punishment insignificant, the gloves come off and the bad behavior starts.

For proof of that, look no further than any elementary school playground, where undisciplined little boys beat up on their weaker playmates and undisciplined little girls shun, pick on and trash talk their less pretty or graceful or well-to-do classmates. The motivations are the same; only the means of delivery differ, since each gender has its stereotypical tendencies and limitations.

Those limitations are why men, for better or worse, seem to dominate the history books. It’s simply easier for men to achieve widespread command than women, though there have been some prominent female rulers as well…

Like Queen Mary, who brutalized Protestants, and Queen Elizabeth, who persecuted Catholics in her turn. And like Queen Isabella, who is credited with starting the Spanish Inquisition, and Catherine the Great, who earned her name through her military might.

In other words, women are just as capable of instituting pain and destruction as men when they manage to achieve unlimited control. So gender has far less to do with it than power, which “tends to corrupt and absolute power [which] corrupts absolutely,” as Lord Acton wisely once said.

So when Hillary Clinton – a power-hungry, power-wielding woman – starts talking about promoting women as a means of bringing about peace and Barack Obama – a power-hungry, power-wielding man – starts signing executive orders to “support women as critical participants in preventing and resolving conflict,” consider both of them up to no good…

And their idea rather ridiculous.

Tim Tebow Haters like Rabbi Joshua Hammerman Have Gone off the Deep End

I’ve been a Denver Broncos football fan since Super Bowl XXXII in 1998. (Which they won) And I’ve been loyal ever since, even rooting against my #2 team, the Steelers, in Super Bowl XL for beating the Broncos in the AFC Championship game that year.

Sadly, I don’t get to watch them all that much, largely because I don’t have cable. That and, living in Baltimore, I find myself frequently distracted from paying attention to my beloved Broncos, thanks to my intense annoyance with all things Ravens.

These days though, as difficult as it is for me to shut out the birds marking everything from billboards to coworkers’ conversations, it’s become even more difficult to ignore the Broncos, all thanks to the Tim Tebow insanity sweeping the country.

Commentary on Tim Tebow is everywhere, from the sports world to religious venues. And even in the former, opinions of him seem to spring from his Christianity more than his ability to play ball half the time.

Considering the downright nasty analysis he can get, it doesn’t seem too farfetched to say that it isn’t Tebow’s ability or inability to throw a ball that really has people in snits.

Take Rabbi Joshua Hammerman, who – if not for being a Jew – would probably get along great with President Obama’s old pal, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who is known for his hateful words on just about every subject, including the 9/11 terrorist attacks. (Wright hates Jews, hence why he and Hammerman wouldn’t be friends.)

In his personal blog, Hammerman predicts that a Tebow Super Bowl victory could lead to “insane things, like burning mosques, bashing gays and indiscriminately banishing immigrants.” All because the Broncos quarterback is a conservative Christian.

Because conservative Christians are known for that kind of stuff? That notion makes as much sense as Hammerman’s defense that Tebow:

“…has done extraordinary things. His love for people is unbounded. His entire life’s work is also predicated on saving my soul for Jesus. He’s not alone in this. Tebow has been affiliated with the Southern Baptists, who spend millions to convert Jews, often deceptively… I personally don’t consider that exemplary behavior. Is it better than raping little boys? Absolutely. But is it admirable? I have issues with anyone determined to save my soul, be that person Christian or Jewish… My ideal person of faith is a pluralist, one who accepts the legitimacy of my faith. Tebow does not. I do not find that admirable.”

First of all, a religious pluralist is somebody who doesn’t really have a belief, only crack. Second of all, as far as I’m aware, Tim Tebow has never said anything even remotely anti-Semitic. And third of all, huh?

This seems a decent time to quote Proverbs 26:4 – a Jewish saying – and move on.

Islam Isn’t Nearly So Nice as CAIR Wants Us to Think

Islam is a problematic religion.

Sorry to say it yet again, but it’s just as true today as it was during the Fort Hood shooting of 2009, the 9/11 attacks of 2001 and the Twin Tower bombing in 1993.

It doesn’t matter that the Counsel of American Islamic Relations (CAIR) wants to portray Islam as “a faith that preaches peace, co-existence, justice, tolerance, love [and] compassion,” as the organization’s Ahmed Rehab says. Nor, for the sake of this particular discussion, does it matter that the majority of Muslims are just ordinary people trying to live out their lives.

There are still far too many extremely violent followers of Islam – of which we have ample proof – to deny that their religion plays a part in it. (For a verifiable list of JUST the Islamic group al Qaeda’s global contributions to violence, click here.)

Yet CAIR tries to numb us to all of that through propaganda like TLC’s “All American Muslim,” a reality show that follows five Muslim families through their everyday activities in America.

That’s all well and good, and in a free country like America, they have the right to create, produce and star in any such thing. But the public also has the right to know that there’s another side to Islam then what CAIR would have us believe.

This is the side that chains up, beats and even tortures young children in Pakistani Islamic seminaries to prepare them for fighting the infidels. This is the side that brutally attacks random pedestrians on Western streets while shouting ethnic slurs. And this is the side that wants Christians and Jews either dead or deprived of their God-given freedom.

It isn’t wrong or shameful or embarrassing to acknowledge that unfortunate reality.

When terrorists yell “Allah akbar” – clearly marking themselves as Islamists – right before they start attacking innocents, it’s only wrong and shameful and embarrassing to not acknowledge that Islam appeals to some people with really twisted world views.

We can treat Muslims both here in the U.S. and everywhere else with the respect they deserve as human beings and individuals. But we do not have to be dangerously stupid in ignoring Islam’s much more problematic side.

If anything, it might very well hurt somebody somewhere not to acknowledge it.

Michael Savage Offers $1 Million to Newt Gingrich to Drop out of Race

Popular conservative talk show host Michael Savage, stunned the news nation yesterday with an offer to presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich:

Get out of the race and he’ll give the former Speaker of the House $1 million; stay in and risk losing to Obama. In Savage’s own words, here’s why…

“The Republican presidential field has come down to two candidates who have a real chance of getting the nomination: Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney. While it’s true that Romney is not as strong a conservative as many would like him to be, the most pressing issue before America today is defeating Barack Obama. And that is something Newt Gingrich cannot do.”

Why not? Well, Savage’s reasons mainly come down to Gingrich not being as strong a conservative as he could be, which is funny considering how he flat-out admits that Romney isn’t, and yet he thinks the former Massachusetts governor can win it.

Can anybody say Romneycare?

Yet Savage doesn’t seem to be the only person who wants Mitt out at all cost. His fellow radio talk show host, Glenn Beck, says that he’d rather vote for Ron Paul as a third party candidate than Newt Gingrich on the Republican ticket.

Now I like Beck. And while I’ve never listened to Savage before, I can imagine that I might like him too considering the basic genre that he fits into. But on this issue, both of them are clearly nuts.

I don’t like Gingrich all that much myself. I think he’s a bit pompous, a bit duplicitous and definitely a bit scummy. But all of his faults pale in comparison to Obama, who is either one of the stupidest politician ever to hold office or one of the most evil, and definitely in the top 25 for being self-absorbed, narcissistic and belligerent.

So while, in my opinion, Newt is only marginally better than Mitt Romney, I’d still choose him over the worst U.S. President since Jimmy Carter anyday. And I think it’s fairly obvious that, with economic misery as high as it is, the majority of the country would agree with me.

As for a third party option? That practically guarantees another four years of Obama, so let’s not even go there.

If they know what’s good for their country, Savage and Beck can do us all a favor and just shut up already.

If I Ruled the Universe, the TSA, Obama Administration, UN and Robert Pattinson Would Be Outlawed

I’m always joking with my family and friends about how things would be “If I ruled the universe.”

This sometimes switches to “If I was empress of the world” or “If I ran Planet Earth” but, regardless, the gist is always the same: sanity and common decency would prevail.

If I ruled the universe, for example, women would not be able to wear leggings as pants, a fashion faux pas that shows every crack and crevice of their derrieres. Personally, I don’t care how many Buns of Steel workouts you do every week; I’d really rather not see that much of anybody without at least a formal introduction and a few dates.

If I ruled the universe, men wouldn’t talk about their college porno sprees or jaunts to the strip club in front of women they’ve just met, female colleagues or anybody who hasn’t signed a contract saying they actually want to hear about such things.

And if I ruled the universe, Robert Pattinson would not be a sex symbol. Ever. But that just goes without saying.

Just as necessary would be the removal of the TSA, who (temporarily) topped off their list of utter uselessness by removing an elderly woman’s back brace because they thought she “was wearing a money belt.” Forget my delicious dreamland: Please somebody tell me why they should exist in any universe when they’re so consistently incompetent?

Moving up the ladder, my universe wouldn’t include the Obama administration, which is chock full of more insane ideas than Barney Fife (without the charm). How else can you explain how it’s considering opening up an automated crossing between Mexico and the U.S. at a time when Mexican drug cartels are running amuck and illegal immigration is sapping us of both funds and safety?

And certainly neither last nor least, if I ruled the universe, the UN would be dismantled and fined for all it’s worth (which is or isn’t much, depending on the definition of the word “worth”). The power-mad organization is now looking into ways to impose a semi-global “climate debt” to respect “the rights of Mother Earth,” also known as a tax to line their corrupt pockets even further.

My universe wouldn’t stand for such corruption, stupidity and thoughtlessness. But since my universe quite clearly doesn’t exist, I suppose we’ll all just have to work at fixing this one up as best as we can.

Let’s get to it!

Washington Insiders Just Like to Hear Themselves Speak

Sometimes you have to wonder whether our elected officials actually hear themselves when they speak.

Then you realize that they live to hear the sound of their own voices, which is why they say as many dumb things as they do. After all, they can cram in a lot more them-time if they just babble like idiots.

Take Georgia’s Democrat Representative Hank Johnson, for example. He believes the whole kafuffle over the Fast and Furious gun running scheme “is another manufactured controversy by the second amendment, NRA Republican Tea Party movement.”

No matter that it was the Obama administration’s Attorney General Eric Holder who authorized it, purposely allowing Mexican drug cartels to purchase firearms and bring them across the border – allegedly to track them – resulting in a decent hundred or so deaths, including that of a U.S. border agent.

Nope! This is clearly the “second amendment, NRA Republican Tea Party” group’s fault for putting poor Attorney General Holder on the spot like this: not his own fault at all, clearly. Because perfectly innocent people usually have to explain the difference between lying and misleading Congress as pertaining to “your state of mind and whether or not you had the requisite intent to come up with something that would be considered perjury or a lie.”

Again, babbling like an idiot.

Or consider President Obama, who told a group of Hanukkah guests that he and his “never need an excuse for a good party.” Really, there was no reason to say that unless he enjoys hearing himself, since he’s already made that very apparent with his constant golfing trips and vacations and soirees.

I guess that’s just how Washington works though, both the capitol and the state, as evidenced by Representative Rick Larsen’s staffers tweeting about their drunken activities on the taxpayer’s dime, and referring to the congressman as “my idiot boss,” among other things.

As unprofessional as that was, it’s hard to disagree with the sentiment, considering Larsen’s voting record on issues such as abortion, national security and energy. My biggest issue with his staffers' tweets is simply this: They didn’t include nearly enough people in that description.

Global Warming “Deniers” Are “Endangering Humankind” but the Fort Hood Shooting Was Just “Workplace Violence”

This is how ridiculous we’ve become as a nation:

Our elected senators make mountains out of molehills concerning global warming, while our Defense Department makes molehills out of mountains concerning national security.

Oh right, and our legislators unwittingly sign laws allowing military personnel to engage in sodomy and bestiality.

This is how ridiculous we’ve become as a nation… almost as pathetic as Europe, which is on the verge of collapse and still can’t do anything but whine and rag on America. I didn’t hear a single one of them questioning Standard & Poor’s decision to downgrade the United States’ credit rating this year, but now that it’s threatening to do the same to Germany, well clearly “some American ratings agencies and fund managers” must be “working against the euro zone,” right?

As if they’re not doing a bang up job of destroying their joint economy all by themselves. Just like we’re doing to ourselves by electing the likes of California Senator Barbara Boxer, who recently had this to say on the non-issue of global warming:

“The message I have for climate deniers is this: You are endangering humankind. It is time for climate deniers to face reality, because the body of evidence is overwhelming and the world’s leading scientists agree.”

I assume she’s referring to the scientists who think that aliens from outer space might destroy Earth to save the universe from the ravages of global warming… who are forced to take administrative leave on charges of scientific misconduct for their research on polar bears… or deliberately hide data that don’t support the conclusions they want?

Those scientists? Or is she talking about 1973 Nobel Prize winner and physics genius Dr. Ivar Giaever, who resigned from the American Physical Society over its pro-global warming stance? Or maybe she means NASA, which recently showed that the earth is allowing far more heat into space than global warming hypists would have us believe.

Truth is, I doubt even Boxer knows what she’s talking about. She rarely does, after all.

Neither does our Department of Defense, at least when run by the Obama administration. That much is obvious when it wants to classify a blatant act of terrorism – like Major Nidal Hasan’s Fort Hood shooting – as “workplace violence.” What about the proof that he corresponded repeatedly with radical Islamic cleric Anwar al-Awlaki?

But clearly, that kind of solid proof doesn’t matter when people are so intent on being ridiculous. And let's face it: Under President Obama, that's exactly what we're becoming.

They’re Spending Our Money on Penis Pumps

They’re spending our money on penis pumps.

And no, there’s no punchline to that statement. Though it is clearly a joke when $240 million of taxpayer money got spent on penis pumps for the elderly over the last 10 years.

That’s according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, who justify the expenditure since erectile dysfunction (ED) can “commonly occur in men in the Medicare age group.” The National Institutes of Health says that this can be caused by “diabetes, other endocrine abnormalities, vascular abnormalities, trauma, neurogenic, psychogenic, side effects of many medications, and other causes.”

I think that by “other causes” they mean “old age.”

Let’s get real: The older our bodies get, the less they work. And here’s another hard fact to face (or not): Erections aren’t some kind of indisputable right that need to be protected at all costs!

I’m very sorry if a 65-year-old man can no longer perform like he could when he was a young stud muffin of 25. But as sad as I’m sure that is, it shouldn’t be the U.S. government or U.S. taxpayer’s job to pump up his penis! Nor should I have to donate my money towards affording him or anybody else Viagra or implantable devices.

Here’s another thought: If we’re so concerned about the government getting out of everybody’s sex lives, why shouldn’t it apply to the financial side of things as well as the legal or even ethical?

People should pay for their own darn penis pumps for heaven’s sake! And if they can’t afford one, then tough luck. I’m sure they’ll live.

Black Activists Sue Democrat Party for History of Racism

The Democrat Party has long held itself up as the protector of equality and the avenger to those suffering from racism, sexism, genderism, classism, and just about every other “ism” out there (just as long as it doesn’t favor Republicans in any way, of course).

Anybody who understands history, however, knows that banner is far from true. After all, the KKK, Jim Crow laws and the destruction of the black family (through welfare and Lyndon B. Johnson’s so-called War on Poverty) all lie squarely on the Democrat Party’s shoulders.

So really, African Americans have every right to dislike the group.

That’s why Reverend Wayne Perryman, prominent black pastor and community activist, is suing Democrats, from Obama on down. Filed on September 12, 2011 in an official U.S. District Court, Perryman and his co-accusers claim that the party has never apologized for its racist policies dating from 1792 all the way to the present.

At first read, that all sounds like Democrats are finally getting what they deserve. Because, let’s face it, as a party and even on the individual level to a large degree – either through intentional malice or unacceptable ignorance – they’ve acted like abusive spouses towards blacks: saying nice things and giving nice gifts to cover over the bruises.

But just because the Democrat Party deserves to be publicly humiliated and stripped of its finances doesn’t mean that this is the right way to go about it.

First off, the charge of “racism” isn’t on the U.S. books. People can’t legally be prosecuted for disliking somebody based on their differences, nor should they be.

This is a free country, after all, and freedom means the right to think without fear of prosecution, even if those thoughts are completely unfounded. So even if the Democrat Party never does apologize for all of the rotten, hurtful, hateful, ridiculous things it has said over the course of its existence, it shouldn’t legally have to.

Only morally.

It also shouldn’t have to pay for crimes its ancestors committed a few centuries ago or even a few decades ago. Whatever happened to personal accountability?

Of course, the answer to that questions is this: The Democrats killed it. Which means they doubly deserve this taste of their own medicine.

But even so, make no mistake of the bigger picture: This is vigilante justice at play: not law and order. And, as such, it will probably cause more harm than good in the end.

Unemployment Rate Slides to 8.6% Even though Job Situation Didn’t Improve

Checking out the news – specifically the report that “job creation remained weak” last month, yet somehow “the unemployment rate slid to 8.6%” – has put me into a decidedly cranky mood this morning.

That kind of news makes me feel like I’m being lied to. Largely because I am. And so are you.

For that matter, we're also being patronized big time by the Obama administration, which obviously thinks it can play around with economic data enough to lull voters into a false enough sense of security so that we’ll vote Democrat next year.

Translation: Our elected president and his motley crew think we’re a bunch of idiots. Stated bluntly like that, it’s rather hard not to take offense.

Then there’s Herman Cain’s admission that he gave Ginger White money without his wife’s knowledge. That has me ticked off too.

Do I think that he cheated on his wife? No, I still don’t. I’m still as certain as I can be without flat-out proof that those other women were frauds, which makes this latest case unbelievably convenient for Cain’s opposition.

Yet even if my suspicions are correct and Ginger White was lying, it doesn’t change the fact that Cain made a major – and frankly, stupid – mistake that could very well cost him any chance of getting the nomination. If I was his wife, I’d be ticked.

Heck! If I was his supporter – which I am – I’d be ticked!

Though I don’t think I’d mind being wrong in this case, for better or worse, right or wrong, I can’t see Cain recovering from this latest attack.

And that makes me cranky.

Yesterday I couldn’t help but shake my head in disgust at America – a country that I truly love – when I read about a convicted criminal’s extremely frivolous lawsuit.

Today, unfortunately, I find myself doing the same exact thing after reading Yahoo’s “2011 Year in Review.” Apparently, these were the Top 10 most searched for internet topics in 2011, in order:

1. iPhone
2. Casey Anthony
3. Kim Kardashian
4. Katy Perry
5. Jennifer Lopez
6. Lindsay Lohan
7. American Idol
8. Jennifer Aniston
9. Japan Earthquake
10. Osama bin Laden

Setting Apple mania aside, it’s a really sad day when shallow sluts like Kim Kardashian, pointless bimbos like Katy Perry and all-around train wrecks like Lindsay Lohan are deemed to be of such monumental interest.

While I actually do feel bad for Lindsay Lohan, who is throwing her life away to indulge in obviously very low self-esteem (I can’t bring myself to have any such pity for Kim Kardashian, who only got famous because she made a sex tape, and Katy Perry, who goes out of her way to portray herself and womankind as sexbots with the mental capacity of dandelions), I still have to ask:

Who cares?

Unfortunately, the answer is as obvious as it is unflattering. Mindless gossips care to know all the dirty details about Kim Kardashian’s ill-fated, publicity-driven marriage or Linday Lohan’s countless trips to court and rehab, just like self-made subservients are interested in Katy Perry’s latest cupie doll performance.

(And no, I’m not talking about clicking on a featured story about them every once in a while. I’m referring to actually searching for them.)

As Yahoo points out, “Breaking news stories don't always crack the Top 10: People don't have to search for details they can get in the news, and it's rare that a single term can stand for a complex news story.”

But even so, that’s no excuse for such universal interest in the illegal, immoral and uninspiring antics of such uninspiring and exceedingly immature individuals.

Criminal Files Lawsuit against Victims for Breach of “Oral Contract”

What in the world is this country coming to?

If Jesse Dimmick’s lawsuit is any indication, it isn’t going anything good.

As far as I can tell from the convoluted story delivered by ABC News’ Topeka, Kansas chapter, Dimmick was running away from the cops after allegedly beating a man to death. Stumbling upon the home of Jared and Lindsay Rowley, he figured it was the perfect hiding place and went for it.

Dimmick says he explained the situation to them and, agreeing to give them money if they hid him from the police. The Rowley’s say they only let him in because they knew he was armed and were afraid of what he would do if they said no.

One way or the other, Dimmick was eventually captured and the Rowley’s went on to sue him for intruding in their home and causing them emotional stress, which they believed was worth about $75,000.

So the now-convicted criminal followed suit and laid down his own charges:

“I, the defendant, asked the Rowleys to hide me because I feared for my life. I offered the Rowleys an unspecified amount of money which they agreed upon, therefore forging a legally binding oral contract.” For this, he wants $235,000.

In Dimmick’s defense, I’m really not sure which lawsuit is more absurd. Suing a criminal for emotional distress seems rather ridiculous, not to mention extravagantly opportunistic. Shades of Shylock, anybody?

Then again, believing that a fugitive’s oral contract is worth anything – much less $235,000 – legally speaking is equally insane. And both cases display a total lack of substance that’s rather appalling.

If this is really what America has come to – where both victims and criminals think they can milk the legal system for all it is and isn’t worth – then that’s beyond sad.

It’s pathetic.

Richmond Virginia Tea Party Slammed with Tax Audit for Protesting Unfair Treatment

“The power to tax is the power to destroy.”

I’ve used that quote, made by Chief Justice John Marshall in the Supreme Court case of McCulloch v. Maryland, before. But it’s one of those statements that never gets old, largely because it never become irrelevant or unimportant.

Let’s face it: Liberals don’t really care about saving the poor, the oppressed or the earth, causes which they claim they need our money to support. They just know that, by paying lip-service to those issues, they can get themselves elected so they can force us to pay for other things, including their trips to Europe, unethical legs up and cushy connections.

They also know they can curry favor and/or punish their opponents with the same tax system that ultimately pays their wages and benefits. And right now, the city of Richmond, Virginia stands out as a clear example of just how right Chief Justice Marshall really was.

Down there, the local chapter of the Tea Party movement had to pay $10,000 and meet countless regulations in order to stage three rallies. The payment and rules were all meted out and met according to the letter of the law.

Then along came the Occupy Wall Street movement and suddenly the city didn’t care to acknowledge those same fees and laws, much less enforce them. So after weeks of watching the protesters camp out, make a mess and cause disturbances on public property – all for free – the Richmond Tea Party had had enough, and demanded its money back.

Not surprisingly, the powers that be refused. A bit less predictably, they also slapped the Tea Party chapter with a tax audit for daring to question their authority.

Of course, Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones’ administration completely denies the allegations of favoritism. They’re “just completely unfounded,” city spokeswoman Tammy Hawley told Fox News.

As for the audit, “The Richmond Tea Party did not file any of the required… monthly returns during 2010 and had only filed January and February 2011 when this account was selected for audit review,” she said. To which the Richmond Tea Party fired back, saying it was legally and specifically exempted from the tax in question.

But here’s the thing: Even if it wasn’t – which it probably was, as this audit is so convenient for the opposition that it’s flat-out ludicrous – the whole situation illustrates just how much power the government has over us… and just how much trouble that means we’re really in.

Black Friday Sales Results Look Good but Might Not Hold Their Eggnog Well

After a hectic Black Friday filled with crazy deals and even crazier customers, the tallies are in.

CNBC reports: “sales rose an estimated 6.6 percent to a record $11.4 billion on Black Friday… while the traffic at stores rose 5.1 percent, according to ShopperTrak.”

To the untrained eye, those numbers might very well seem to signal the dawning of a new season of shopping and consumerism set to conquer this weak economy once and for all. CNBC is certainly quick to invest in that misconception, casually mentioning, “As usual on Black Friday, retailers used deep discounts… to lure shoppers [in],” as if nothing other than holiday cheer – and Obama, of course – influenced those hefty sales.

But the real reason behind this season is far less joyful.

The truth is that consumers are hurting, and retailers know it. Which is why they went out of their way to slash prices ridiculously low.

Best Buy, for example, had 42” LCD HDTVs for just under $200. J.C. Penney offered luggage sets for under $40 when they’re normally well over $100, and Wal-Mart featured HP laptops for $248.

Sorry to say, but those bargains aren’t normal, even for Black Friday. Neither is the fact that Target opened up on Thanksgiving instead of early the next day, or that Kohl’s made it a Black Friday weekend instead of a single morning.

These are all signs of a weak economy, no matter how much stores made. And they might even indicate weaker consumer spending as we continue into the Christmas shopping season: The mad dash for bargains could be a sign that holiday gift-givers are keeping themselves on tight leashes this year.

On the bright side for investors and consumers alike, as I said before, retailers know that consumers are hurting. So they’re playing it safe with especially great buys and deep discounts that will keep customers happy and probably even make companies a profit in the end.

Just don’t think that any of that is a sign the economy is finally turning. As Georgia business owner Bill Looman advertises in his van window, he’s “not hiring until Obama is gone.”

And neither is anybody else.

Occupy Wall Street Courageously – and Stupidly! – Plans to Occupy Black Friday

Say whatever you want about the Occupy Wall Street crowd (I certainly have) but there is one negative name that even I’ll be hard-pressed to slap on them this Black Friday.

There’s overwhelming proof to support claims that they’re lazy, ill-educated, irresponsible, greedy, spoiled brats. But if they really go through with their plans to protest “the businesses that are in the pockets of Wall Street” like they say they will, then cowards they ain’t.

Stupid, yes. Cowards, no.

Occupy Wall Streeters are apparently trying to encourage consumers to just say no to stores that are publicly traded this Black Friday. In other words, they think they have a shot of convincing people to boycott the likes of Target, Wal-Mart, Macy’s, J.C. Penney, Sears, Apple and so many other typical shopping spots that ultra bargain hunters literally kill to hit up the day after Thanksgiving.

Like I said: Stupid, yes. Cowards no.

Cowards wouldn’t put themselves in the middle of intimidating crowds of crazed shoppers looking for their $300 flat screen TVs, whatever-is-up-this-year Elmos and other assorted discounted goodies.

Though stupid people just might waste their time explaining on their website:

“Keep in mind that we are not occupying small businesses or hardworking people – we must make a distinction between the businesses that are in the pockets of Wall Street and the businesses that serve our local communities.

“We are NOT anti-capitalist. Just anti-crapitalist.”

Really though, when it comes down to it, they can call themselves whatever they want to. Come the morning after Thanksgiving, when they face off with hundreds of thousands of Black Friday shoppers, they’re going to be bleeding, broken and crying for their mamas.

U.S. Politicians Think They’re Better Than Us

Here’s the problem with U.S. politicians: They genuinely don’t think they’re like us.

In their minds, they don’t come from “We the People.” In fact, in their minds, there is no “We the People” at all; it’s just "We the Washington insiders." And they like it like that.

That’s quite obvious considering how they’ve legislated everyday American life into knots and gnarls… while creating multiple loopholes for themselves to crawl out of.

Wildly unpopular and hazardous healthcare mandates? Congress doesn’t have to live or die with it.

Easy ways to make a buck through insider trading? Congress can; we can’t.

Heck, even when it comes to exceedingly cut and dry issues, government somehow manages to bypass its own laws. For instance, so far, has anybody seen any mention of former New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine going to jail for his heavy hand in the giant, money-laundering mess that has been MF Global for years now?

Yet catch any of us normal folks moving a toe – even unintentionally! – over legislator’s ridiculous lines and watch them throw every book they have at us.

For proof of that, just ask Carlos Rafael, a boat owner in the New Bedford, MA fishing community. He thought he struck it rich when his crew informed him they had accidentally caught an 881-pound bluefin tuna, which would go for a very pretty penny.

Considering the intricate netting of laws that govern every aspect of American life these days, it shouldn’t come as any surprise that fishermen have to have special permits for just about everything they do, including catching tuna.

But Rafael was ready for the exceedingly slim possibility of doing just that; he had been buying tuna permits for the last four years just in case. And as soon as he heard the good news, he immediately called the bluefin tuna hot line (Yes, government really does think of everything.) to report the catch just like he was supposed to.

Unfortunately, that was his big mistake, because apparently, the money he shelled out on those tuna permits only covered tuna caught with a rod and reel, not nets like his men used. And so the authorities were waiting to take the tuna away when his boat pulled up to shore.

For anybody who cares to know, that’s the problem with U.S. politicians.

Congress’ Super Committee Proves a Failure… No Big Surprise There

So much for Congress’ so-called Super Committee proving worthwhile.

For that matter, so much for Congress in general proving worthwhile.

Just as every sane, thoughtful person predicted, Democrat and Republican members of the recently formed and utterly pointless band of supposed problem solvers couldn’t agree on what to cut and what to save in the latest budget battle.

I’d love to blame the Democrats for this latest batch of insanity, but let’s face it: Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner helped create and forcibly pass the deal that created the Super Committee, insisting that it was the best possible plan available.

Yeah. Right. Sure. And magic feathers work outside of Disney cartoons.

It’s amazing that these people ever made it past middle school, much less obtained their bachelors and beyond.

Republican legislators assured their base months ago that they had rigged the debt debates so that cuts had to be made one way or the other. Yet they somehow didn’t foresee a problem in the fact that, if the Super Committee couldn’t play nice like big girls and boys, a decent chunk of that $1.2 trillion in proposed savings would be automatically taken from the military.

That was supposed to propel both sides into agreement, as if the average Democrat politician would have a problem with weakening our national defenses even more than we’ve already done.

I’d ask what Republicans were thinking, but that would assume they have the capability to think at all… and I’m not willing to take that for granted anymore.

Now we’re going to have to hear about their “talks” for the next month at least. Fox News writes:

“Failure by Congress’ debt-cutting Super Committee to recommend $1.2 trillion in savings by Wednesday is supposed to automatically trigger spending cuts in the same amount to accomplish that job.

“But the same legislators who concocted that budgetary booby trap just four months ago could end up spending the 2012 election year and beyond battling over defusing it.”

One more reason to look forward to 2013… when hopefully a number of these ridiculous people will be out of a job and out of our hair.

Occupy Wall Street Terrifies NYC School Children and Other Interesting News

Let’s do a crazy Friday blog, where I try to fit in everything newsworthy that’s caught my attention into one single (potentially) cohesive commentary.

First up is Occupy Wall Street, which went berserk on little kiddies yesterday. CBS reports how the “Tiny Tots, Some As Young As 4, [were] Overwhelmed By [the] Hostility, [and] Crush of Humanity.”

Of course, the protesters weren’t there specifically to frighten small children on their way to school. But they certainly didn’t object to scaring them either as the students and their parents braved “a gauntlet of… yelling and chanting – some kicking and screaming” so-called adults to get to their classes on the other side of the street.

The NYPD even had to help escort the children through while some protestors chanted, “follow those kids!” Why, I’m not sure, and considering the maladjusted behavior these people have displayed throughout their mini movement, I really don’t want to speculate.

99 of their fellow idiots also blocked traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge, prompting cops to arrest 275 people between there and Zuccotti Park. No wonder Karl Rove called them cowards when they interrupted his speech at Baltimore’s Johns Hopkins University, adding: “Do not be so arrogant and presumptive to think that you’re the only person who has a First Amendment right that needs to be heard.”

They are that “arrogant and presumptive” though, as well as disease ridden. St. Louis Health Director Pam Walker blames dating sites for increased STDs, but I think it could just as easily be blamed on the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Not so much for the fact that one in four American women apparently relies on medication for mental disorders. That, I think, lies squarely at the feet of a society that promotes women as victims twice-over: persuading them to be mere sexual outlets for men and then encouraging them to feel the victim when exactly that happens.

Thanks for that disturbing conundrum, liberals. It makes just as much sense as vilifying the rich, then allowing General Electric to pay little to no taxes for two years running.

That’s what happens though when you’re buddies with President Obama, who, by the way, has proven incapable of opening a door on two occasions now… twice as much as President Bush.

In all fairness, maybe that’s because First Lady Michelle won’t let him eat anything to keep his brain working properly. The woman is an annoying menace, and apparently the role model of Christopher and Mary Sultze, who were so concerned with childhood obesity that they starved their newborn baby for months to keep her from getting fat.

Welcome to the world of liberal thinking.

Money We Don’t Have and Things We Don’t Need

Here’s a pop quiz for you on this lovely day-before-Friday morning:

1. Why does United States Attorney General Eric Holder need “five days on the taxpayer’s dime hopping around Caribbean islands in the name of improving law enforcement in the region?” as Daily Beast writer John Solomon so aptly asks.

2. Why would he especially be doing this right after President Obama outlined his new austerity plan to cut down on government spending?

3. Why does the United States government need to employ 65,000 TSA workers in airports all across the country, when they’ve allowed a collective 25,000 security breaches in the past decade, including the Underwear Bomber?

4. Why does the United States Department of Energy dole out money to haphazard visionaries with sketchy business plans as if taxpayer money grows on trees?

And a bonus question: Why did we bail out General Motors when it was just going to suck up and shred taxpayer money – now $9 billion and probably rising – like there was no tomorrow to worry about?

For Q1, you can argue that Eric Holder doesn’t feel like dealing with the aftermath of his disastrous Fast and Furious gun running scheme. As for Q2, let’s face it: Obama’s rules and regulations don’t apply to his friends, cronies or fellow liberals, which exempts Holder three times over.

Q3’s answer should read something along the lines of “Because they say so. So there! Now shut up and get back in line to be photographed naked and possibly catch cancer.” And Q4 comes down to this: Obama’s buddies need their money somehow, right?

Of course, I’ll also except the following blanket answers for all of them, including the bonus question: The government is incompetent, the government doesn’t respect the people, or the government just really doesn’t want to face the facts … despite all of the evidence piling higher and higher around it like so many stacked notices of payment due.

Hedge fund legend Mark Mobius stated the extreme obvious when he predicted the certainty of “another financial crisis around the corner because we haven’t solved any of the things that caused the previous crisis.” That much is extremely obvious, considering the state of the Western world.

Things just keep getting worse in Europe, with Spain’s 10-year debt costs hitting new highs and so many other countries in the euro zone on the ropes as well. And now Fitch Ratings says that, “Unless the euro zone debt crisis is resolved in a timely and orderly manner, the broad credit outlook for the U.S. banking industry could worsen.”

Last week, apparently somebody took a shot or two at the White House from the Washington Mall, with one bullet even hitting a window. ABC reports: “The round was stopped by ballistic glass behind the historic exterior glass, while an additional round has been found on the exterior of the White House.”

The news service was also quick to assure everyone that the 21-year-old suspect, Oscar Ramiro Ortega, is thought to be mentally ill. After all, why else would anybody – outside of the deranged Tea Party racist types, of course – want to attack Barack Obama, the beloved leader of the free world?

Especially a Hispanic? Clearly, if he doesn’t recognize all of the good things Obama has done for minorities, he must be deranged!

Right? Of course! No other way to look at it. Moving on now…

But let’s play pretend and say that Ortega – who has a long rap sheet for such things as domestic violence and drug charges – went to Washington to shoot the Bush White House instead.

If that had happened, he would have been hailed as a hero.

News agencies would have noted Bush’s unpopularity amongst minorities – and in general – and then gone on to list all of the grievances America’s oppressed had against the President, including Katrina (which Bush clearly sent since he “hates black people” like Kanye West said).

They would have gone into detail about Ortega’s difficult upbringing, what he had to suffer, how he tried so hard to succeed and how Bush just wouldn’t give him a chance. And, let’s face it, they would have all but praised him for taking more than pot shots at the President.

We know that because of how the news agencies covered the shoe-throwing incident in Iraq not all that long ago.

Instead, since this is Obama residing in the posh place, the media covers up the story for a decent week and then explains it away as a simply irrational act made by an irrational person.

Now don’t get me wrong; I’m not saying that Ortega isn’t mentally disturbed. And one way or the other, I hope that they find him and lock him up where he can’t shoot at anybody again, including President Obama.

I’m just saying that it’s hard not to notice the difference in coverage.

Further Proof that Occupy Wall Streeters Are Insane and Celebrities Don’t Care about the Little People Like They Say They Do

It’s becoming evermore clear that the Occupy Wall Street movement is filled with some of the whiniest losers ever to inhabit the planet.

If they were animals (which is a possibility considering that they poop on the sidewalk like dogs), they would have been picked off ages ago by predators who were taking easy advantage of the sorriest pickings available.

Then again, maybe they’d just kill each other off naturally – since they seem to have no problem turning on each other – or more than likely just starve to death, since they have no idea how to do anything useful or intelligent.

They highlighted all three negative characteristics when superstar rapper Jay-Z promoted one of the newest editions to his clothing line, Rocawear: a t-shirt that features the slogan: “Occupy All Streets” in support of his (less rich, less cool, less intelligent) fellow thugs camped out in cities around the country.

Occupy Wall Streeters went nuts (more than they already are, that is) over the merchandise. And then they went even more insane when Rocawear issued a statement that it hadn’t agreed to give any of the proceeds to the whiny bunch of self-made losers.

One Occupy Wall Street leader roared that making bling off the $22 shirts was “an insult to the fight for economic civil rights.” Forget the fact that, as businessman Russell Simmons noted, the merchandise “did a good fun thing to promote awareness.”

Oh no, Occupy Wall Street wants more.

They always want more. When it comes down to it, they’re more greedy than the rich, “fat cats” they’re protesting. At least the rich, fat cats do something to earn their money; OWS mainly stands there and whines (and goes to the bathroom on the sidewalk).

Besides, how do they think Jay-Z got the money to start Rocawear in the first place? By standing there and whining (and going to the bathroom on the sidewalk)?

Of course, it’s not completely and totally Occupy Wall Street’s fault that they automatically think that celebrities would give them the shirt off their back (Ha ha! Get? Get it?). After all, Hollywood likes to cultivate a certain image of being an all-caring community that supports the underdog, whether they be whiny losers (OWS), pedophiles and rapists (Woody Allen, Roman Polanski), or just plain, all-around, brain-dead, vapid viruses with no grasp on reality (fill in the blank).

Yet when it comes down to it, celebrities are really looking out for number one.

It kinda makes one think that Occupy Wall Street and Hollywood deserve each other.

President Obama Sees Progress in Sanctions against Iran… and Possibly Still Believes in Santa Clause too

If President Obama isn’t trying to mislead the country, then that’s a really sad commentary on his intellectual prowess, or lack thereof.

Along with calling the U.S. “a little bit lazy” in the business arena, President Obama apparently thinks that international sanctions against Iran are really working. Worse yet, he wants to consult China and Russia before going forward with any new plans to dissuade the hardcore Islamist nation from building a nuclear bomb.

I really hope for his sake that he’s really just nefarious and not that nearly that stupid at all. Because all of the available evidence strongly suggests – if not shouts from the mountaintops – that Iran could care less about its international law… and that Russia and China are comfy, cozy, slutty in its bed.

Haven’t we had enough proof by now that Russia and China not only really dislike the U.S. but are also going so far as to help Iran by way of selling them weapons… despite the supposedly airtight sanctions?

Haven’t we also had enough proof that Iran doesn’t respect anything but force? When we offer hands of friendship, professionalism or even common courtesy, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his regime simply bite our hands like rabid dogs.

Case in point: Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi says he see “no more point in making additional concessions” regarding his country’s hotly contested nuclear program, even though he and his haven’t made any notable concessions throughout this entire process!

If anything, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says, Iran is even closer to producing an atom bomb than everybody would like to think.

And yet we keep relying on the same methods to woo the hate-mongering, reality-denying, tyrannical regime from the dark side, begging a very simple but very important question: Why?

Honestly, I’m not sure if it would be better for the United States if the answer was “Because Obama is an incompetent fool” or “Because Obama is out to destroy the America most of us know, love and vastly benefit from.”

Again, for his sake, I’m hoping that it’s the former.

Joe Arpaio Says There’s No Difference Between Obama Supporters and Mexican Drug Cartels… Chris Rock Proves Otherwise

Arizona’s Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is well used to controversy. The self-described “America’s toughest sheriff” almost welcomes it with his letter-of-the-law stance on immigration so close to the Mexican border.

“I’m a controversial guy,” he freely admits, and he’s inviting even more controversy now that he’s conducting an official investigation into Barack Obama’s eligibility to be president of the United States. This includes determining whether Obama is using an illegal Social Security number and birth certificate.

“I’ve got the drug cartels from Mexico sending me death threats and now I have the Obama supporters sending me death threats,” Arpaio told WND news. “I’m not sure which are worse.”

But let’s face it: There is a difference. The Mexican drug cartels, after all, are more than willing to put their money where their mouths are. Most of the Obama supporters, on the other hand, would just dance on Arpaio’s grave after somebody else offed him.

Not to mention that the Mexican drug cartels actually make sense (maybe because they say less and shoot more) in a non-ethical kind-of way. Obama supporters like supposed comedian Chris Rock don’t even come close.

Rock excuses the President’s disappointing performance this far since there’s apparently a “f*cking art to the first term… It’s like Clinton’s first term. You can’t really do your gangsta sh*t until your second term… Even Bush couldn’t really f*ck up the world until his second term. That’s when he put the hammer down.”

Actually, Clinton tried his “gangsta sh*t” during his first term… and was soundly rebuked for it in the mid-term elections. And Bush got us into both Iraq and Afghanistan – two of his biggest cardinal sins, according to Liberals – before the 2004 elections.

Clearly, Chris Rock is an all-around moron, a trait he went on to highlight in great detail:

“The last George Bush we had was the first cable TV president we had. And what I mean by that… he was the first president that was only president to the people that voted for him. He did not give a f*ck about the people that didn’t vote for him. Obama is actually trying to be president to the whole country and there’s a lot of compromise being president to the whole country… In a weird way our complaints about Obama is because we miss Bush. We miss hating somebody. We miss the guy who didn’t give a f*ck… Bush didn’t give a f*ck about us. He just really, really didn’t. We want revenge; we don’t want justice. That’s the problem with the Democrats. We want revenge.”

I’d ask somebody – Maybe the Mexican drug cartels? – to translate Rock’s rambling, but it would be one giant waste of both of our time.

How the Liberals Stole Christmas

How do liberals celebrate Christmas?

Well, let’s just say it isn’t with eggnog, nativity sets and good cheer. They’re much more interested in handing out extra taxes to rich and poor alike than presents or kisses under the mistletoe.

The Heritage Foundation reported yesterday that: “President Obama’s Agriculture Department today announced that it will impose a new 15-cent charge on all fresh Christmas trees – the Christmas Tree Tax – to support a new Federal program to improve the image and marketing of Christmas trees.”

Please somebody tell me what in the world that even means!

Do we really need government holding our hands and helping us pick out just the right tree? Maybe they can take us home afterwards, make us sugar-free hot chocolate (Without the marshmallows, of course. Michelle wouldn’t approve.) and tuck us into bed with a revised version of A Christmas Carol… where Scrooge goes on counting his money and Tiny Tim starves to death.

Here’s a simple way to “improve the image and marketing of Christmas Trees”… Don’t tax them!

And – Bonus! – here’s a simple way to keep the spirit of Christmas in general: Don’t make things difficult for charitable organizations. I.e. don’t make a fuss about the Air Force Academy promoting Operation Christmas Child, even if it does include a Christian message and is sponsored by an evangelical Christian group.

Who cares!

Apparently Mikey Weinstein does, since he accused AFA commanders of unprofessional and unconstitutional behavior, as well as “arrogance beyond measure” for promoting the Christmas program, which sends toys and necessities to impoverished children around the world.

Seriously, if this is how liberals celebrate Christmas, with shades of Ceasar Augustus and the pre-reformed Ebenezer Scrooge, I’d hate to see how they celebrate Easter…

President Obama May Talk the Christian Talk (Sometimes) but He Walks a Different Walk Much More Often Than Not

Once upon a time, Barack Hussein Obama (mmm… mmm… mmm) went out of his way to declare himself a Christian.

But of course, that was then (during the wooing phase) and this is now (during the you’re-married-to-me-and-better-do-what-I-say-or-else stage).

Oh, the President still gives lip service occasionally. While pushing his so-called jobs bill (again) last week, he chastised the House of Representatives for passing a bill to keep “In God We Trust” as the official U.S. motto.

“That’s not putting people back to work,” he mocked. “I trust in God, but God wants to see us help ourselves by putting people back to work.”

Incidentally, press secretary Jay Carney went on to defend his boss for the remarks by claiming that the Bible specifically says: “The Lord helps those who help themselves.” Clearly, Carney last opened a Bible around the time Obama consulted the Christian God.

The same can be said for the rest of Obama’s administration, who seem far more worried about offending people who have a problem with Christianity than anything else. Take the Interior Department’s Bureau of Land Management, which thinks that adding FDR’s D-Day prayer to the National Mall’s WWII Memorial would “dilute” its message and interfere with its ability to “inspire” visitors.

As if Christianity is something to be ashamed about.

Yet in matters of foreign aid, the U.S. doesn’t think it dilutes anything to shell out money to the Islamic parties taking over in countries like Egypt and Libya. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton just declared yesterday that, even though “there will be times when not all of our interests align” (Like maybe when they want to kill us?!!), the Obama administration will support the new governments as legitimate and respectable.

No such consideration, however, is given to our long-time ally, Israel, whom the Bible declares to be God’s chosen and beloved. At the G20 summit recently, President Obama and his French counterpart, Nicholas Sarkozy accidentally publicly admitted their joint dislike of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

When Sarkozy grumbled that he couldn’t stand Netanyahu, Obama replied: “You’re fed up with him? I have to deal with him every day!”

Obama’s actions and attitude very clearly do not align themselves with Christian values. But I wouldn’t be too hasty in pegging him as a devout Muslim either.

Honestly, if I had to guess at Obama’s religion, I’d say he worships himself.

Why the Herman Cain Sexual Harassment Scandal Isn’t Doing Women Any Favors

As a woman, I’m beginning to get really annoyed with the media’s handling of the sexual harassment charges against Herman Cain. This prolonged lip service to the individual women involved and their so-far sketchy accusations aren’t doing womankind any favors.

Quite the opposite in fact. This whole media circus – regardless of whether the accusations are true or not – is making a joke of sexual harassment and what it is to be a woman in general.

Being a woman means struggling for respect in the workplace a little bit more than men do, since we not only have to think about our performance but also the way we dress, and the way we approach our male colleagues and bosses concerning ideas or issues (since, let’s face it, an opinionated man is much more likely to be considered a leader than an opinionated woman, who more often than not gets the you-know-what label). We even have to worry about the way we walk, since some men think that if our hips naturally sway when we’re moving, we’re intentionally giving them excuses to behave like pigs.

That’s why being a woman means taking especially careful notice when we’re walking by alleys or leaving work for the parking lot or stranded on the side of the road. It means calling friends to come drive us less than a mile down the road – an easy walk – to go get our cars from the mechanic in broad daylight because the area is just slightly sketchy.

And it means shutting up and taking crude comments, crude looks and even a few crude touches now and again from the men around us, whether it’s the cocky thug in the mall or the suited coworker down the hall. Because the alternative mess for dealing with such small violations just isn’t worth it.

That’s what it means.

Now don’t get me wrong, because it also means a lot of great stuff, and I wouldn’t trade being female for anything. (Well, maybe just for a day to see what really goes on in men’s brains.) I also fully acknowledge that men face pressures and conflicts that most women don’t, and I seriously respect the ones who take each of those challenges head on and still come out as, well, men.

… In other words, not the kind of people who capitalize on the usual imbalances in life for political purposes, which is exactly what is happening with Herman Cain right now. The total lack of clarity in the accusations against him from the women and the lawyers and the media is just making things even harder for women everywhere.

If the charges are true, then the women should make up their minds to either step forward with the full details or shut up entirely. This wishy-washy back and forth and in-between isn’t progressing women’s rights at all; it’s just throwing their stories into a very bad light and portraying women everywhere as gold-digging little hussies who are asking for it.

And the Most Incompetent Criminals Ever Award Goes to…

Call me sick and twisted, but I find this story far too amusing not to mention:

Meet Tyree Seegers, Omar Villota and Johel Gomez, three incompetent criminals who thought it’d be a great idea to go into U.S. Chicken in Patterson, New Jersey and carry out what appeared to be completely pointless attacks.

And it all got blatantly caught on camera.

Seegers and Gomez confronted their first victim as he was trying to leave the restaurant, giving Villota time to come up and pistol whip the man in the back of his head. They exit the scene scuffling with each other.

But a few minutes later, the trio reappears on tape dragging a struggling second man back inside, where they proceed to punch him repeatedly in the face.

Now getting all of this caught on a live video feed without the cover of ski masks or some other disguise is really pretty stupid. But apparently, they weren’t satisfied with just being pointlessly violent incompetent wastes of breath. No, they had bigger goals… like shooting for the Darwin Awards (though they ultimately failed at that too. Maybe an honorary mention is deserved?).

Somehow outfitted with a machete all of a sudden, Seegers starts swinging the weapon at the victim over a dozen times. And as the local CBS News puts it: “During one of his swings, he chops into Villota, who is continually pistol-whipping the victim. Seegers nearly severs Villota’s right arm, leaving a blood trail that the cops used to track them down.”

See what I mean? Clearly, these men are out to prove that we all really did evolve from less intelligent life forms… and that we can revert right back without too much effort.

And they deserve even more points for incompetence since the victim wasn’t even seriously injured in the sustained attack thanks to Seegers’ unfathomably pathetic machete skills.

So even though all three hoodlums didn’t manage to make it into the Darwin Awards, I think we can all agree they definitely deserve a permanent place in the annals of FMyLife.

Herman Cain vs. the Woman Issue

As a female, I’m particularly partial to the feminine perspective. And I’ll flat-out admit that I’ve been known to take the girls’ side with little to no factual basis before.

Like the whole Duke University stripper affair, where I thought the frat boys involved were guilty as hell. Even now that their accuser has been proven a piece of lying trash, I still have a hard time feeling bad for the lads since they hired her in the first place.

In my book, even that legal form of objectification makes them worthy of my derision regardless of what else did or did not happen. I believe that women deserve respect, including the God-given right to be seen as something more than a HPOA.

In addition, I’ve been on the receiving end of sexual harassment before (saying “victim” sounds far too melodramatic for anything not involving direct threats or hands-on activity), so I understand how frustrating and uncomfortable it is to get unwanted attention.

But I’m still having a hard time accepting the accusations of sexual harassment or sexual impropriety against GOP presidential hopeful Herman Cain.

Let me be blunt: I like Herman Cain and I think he’d make a great president… and not just compared to Obama, since that isn’t saying much. Now let me be blunt again: I like being female more than I like Herman Cain.

Yet – while I don’t want to lightly dismiss a woman’s claim of sexual harassment – the truth is there is good reason to doubt it happened considering several factors, including society’s tendency to look out for number one and the mainstream media’s habits.

Let’s face it: People with big money can make easy targets for the less scrupulous. Just look at all of the sports players who have been accused of sexual improprieties, only to have the accusers later admit that they lied. (My Steeler’s Ben Rothlesberger excluded, since I’m still on the fence about that case and I think he’s a dumb slut regardless.)

Perhaps more importantly, look at the way the mainstream media lobs false accusations and baseless derision at conservatives all the time, while ignoring or excusing such pathetic liberals as Anthony Weiner, Elliot Spitzer, John Edwards and, yes, Bill Clinton, who was accused how many times of sexual harassment, sexual assault and flat-out rape?

That’s why, even if Herman Cain’s accusers step forward with details of their allegations as the one woman apparently hopes to in the days ahead, I’m still going to have to give my vote to Herman Cain over my ladies on this one unless I get stark proof of indecency.

Until then, Herman Cain unashamedly remains my candidate of choice.

It's Looking Like the Greek Bailout Might Need a Bailout too

You know, it was just last month – just last week! – that Europe announced it had reached a solution to keep Greece from sliding into official bankruptcy (as opposed to unofficial bankruptcy, which – let’s face it – it’s already in).

Everybody rejoiced, the markets rallied and people breathed a sigh of relief knowing that the problem was covered up (with a very thin blanked, mind you) for the time being. Maybe not for very long, but it didn’t have to be dealt with again right away at least.

And why do something today that can be dealt with tomorrow… especially when tomorrow never comes?

After three years of throwing money into one black hole after another, nobody with even a smidgen of common sense believed that this latest round of lunacy was going to work long-term. But it turns out that it might very well not work short-term either.

The UK’s Telegraph predicted as much just on Saturday in a piece entitled “Why the latest eurozone bail-out is destined to fail within weeks.” Economic agenda writer Liam Halligan said that “the responses of our politicians to recent financial troubles – hiding behind complexity and kicking the can down the road – have not only failed to temper the volatility, but have actually made it much worse.”

Politicians making things worse: Whooda thunk?

They’re like little children trying to avoid punishment by making up one really stupid, obvious lie to cover up another really stupid, obvious lie to explain away the living room lamp that they broke when they conveniently even though they knew they weren’t supposed to be playing ball there in the first place.

If you want the nitty gritty details of just how royally they messed things up this time, feel free to read the rest of Halligan’s comments on the subject. But be aware that it might sound like a lot of technical gobbledygook, mainly because it is, since politicians convoluted the whole situation long before the 2008 global financial meltdown.

The situation doesn’t have to be convoluted though, or at least not any more so. Greece was naughty and spent money it never had – mainly on social spending, union pensions and the like – so now it needs to face the consequences.

I think I speak for many when I beg the eurozone to just let Greece fail already! Because everybody knows it’s going to happen eventually anyway.

Shades of Clarence Thomas in the Herman Cain “Sex Scandal?”

It looks like the media is stepping up its game on Herman Cain, ditching – for now – attempts to paint him as a fool and instead trying to make him look like a hound dog, rather like they did with the Clarence Thomas sex scandal two decades before.

Back in 1991, when President George H. W. Bush nominated Clarence Thomas to the U.S. Supreme Court, the left called on Anita Hill to step forward with allegations of sexual harassment against the black conservative.

Nothing was ever proven and Thomas was confirmed regardless. But the left isn’t terribly imaginative (or intelligent) and so they’ve apparently decided to try, try again like the old school nursery maxim instructs all good little kindergarteners.

So that’s exactly what they’re doing, though instead of producing one woman to brand the enemy this time, they’re calling on two this time. Sort-of.

Once again, nothing has been proven in a court of law, so it’s mere allegations at play. And apparently, neither woman involved can come forward and say anything since they signed confidentiality agreements.

But Politico is still all too happy to publish a four page report about Cain’s time as head of the National Restaurant Association in 1990s, when two “women complained of sexually suggestive behavior by Cain that made them angry and uncomfortable.”

Because sexual harassment usually feels so good?

Not really sure what Politico is trying to say there, so I’m just going to dismiss the two adjectives as mere melodramatic journalistic spin, the kind the mainstream media is very well known for.

Knowing how they are, it’s quite tempting to dismiss the whole story as mere propaganda for the left. So tempting in fact, that’s it’s very nearly impossible to resist.

And who am I to defy such odds?

At this point, I have far better things to do than start believing the mainstream media when they cry wolf… even if it is Halloween.

Students Teaching Against Racism Preaches How to (Politically) Correct Your Halloween Costume

If you’re planning on donning a Halloween costume this weekend, you might want to rethink your outfit, says a group of Ohio University students.

Students Teaching Against Racism in Society (STARS) – as opposed to Students Teaching Against Racism in a Vacuum (STARV) – officially launched a now nationally known campaign against dressing up as anything that smacks of stereotyping, i.e. Japanese geishas, Latinos in ponchos and sombreros, Arab terrorists, etc.

If the admittedly short news story on this latest outbreak of political correctness is any indication, STARS would have no problem if you want to slap a cowboy hat on your head and pinning a star to your leather vest, however.

Also not mentioned were the prima ballerinas – who always get a bad rap – Darth Vader – who nobody remembers for his epic opt for good in his final moments – Big Bird – who, along with so many other fictitious critters, went full slut last year… probably without their signed and recorded consent! – and countless other much-maligned characters and groups.

I was going to dress up as Snow White for Halloween, since my dark curly locks automatically lend themselves to such an outfit, but who knows what real-life princesses I might offend with what could all too easily be seen as a stereotype? (I’m sorry Kate!) Or with any other costume, for that matter?

Clearly, the only solution to this dilemma is to ban all costumes altogether! And while we’re at it, in an effort to really make sure we never, ever, ever offend anybody else ever again, let’s ban people too!

Though maybe that won’t be enough since, according to PETA’s lawsuit against SeaWorld, we need to be considering animals’ feelings to. And you know how cruel they can be when a stripe or spot is out of place… so maybe we should ban them too.

But that still leaves Mother Earth, which could potentially be offended at the sheer lack of sentient life left on the planet. So perhaps nuking the planet into oblivion is really the only way to go.

Occupy Wall Street’s Occupy Oakland Branch Member Suffers Serious Injury

So it’s finally happened.

One of the idiot Occupy Wall Streeters got injured and everybody is up in arms about it, as if the group hasn’t caused its fair share of grief for more than a month.

The injured idiot Occupy Wall Streeter, 24-year-old Iraq War veteran Scott Olsen, joined the Occupy Oakland branch about a week ago. But his stay was cut short by “a tear gas attack by police” – as NBC News terms it – on Tuesday night.

NBC kept the details – intentionally? – vague, so who knows who was actually to blame in the end: police or the idiot Occupy Wall Streeters (Who wants to vote for the second?). But suffice it to say that tempers are flaring in the already agitated bunch of nitwits these days since so many cities are trying to give their local groups the boot.

Let me just state the obvious that I do wish the best for Scott Olsen, which includes both a speedy physical recovery and a reunion with reality. But considering all of the trouble Occupy Wall Street has caused nationwide, it’s rather a miracle that there hasn’t been a police-induced injury before this point.

After all, between the dope smoking, rape, child molestation, indecent exposure, disorderly conduct, assault, vagrancy and the like, it's kinda obvious that these people aren’t exactly law-abiding citizens.

PETA Sues SeaWorld for Violating the 13th Amendment Ban on Slavery

“A federal court is being asked to grant constitutional rights to five killer whales who perform at marine parks – an unprecedented and perhaps quixotic legal action that is nonetheless likely to stoke an ongoing, intense debate at America’s law schools over expansion of animal rights.”

So begins an AP article, which just gets more ridiculous as it continues with: “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is accusing the SeaWorld parks of keeping five star-performer whales in conditions that violate the 13th Amendment ban on slavery… [which] does not specify that only humans can be victims.”

Here are a few other noteworthy snippets:

“The lawsuit asks the court to order the orcas released to the custody of a legal guardian who would find a ‘suitable habitat’ for them.

“‘By any definition, these orcas are slaves – kidnapped from their homes, kept confined, denied everything that’s natural to them and forced to perform tricks for SeaWorld’s profit,’ said [Jeff] Kerr [PETA’s general counsel whose legal team spent 18 months preparing the case]. “The males have their sperm collected, the females are artificially inseminated and forced to bear young which are sometimes shipped away.”

And…

“… the field of animal law has evolved steadily, with courses taught at scores of law schools. Many prominent lawyers and academics have joined in serious discussion about expanding animal rights.

“Rutgers University law professor Gary Francione, for example, contends that animals deserve the fundamental right to not be treated as property. Law professor David Favre of Michigan State University has proposed a new legal category called ‘living property’ as a step toward providing rights for some animals.”

Really, after all of that, what else is there to say? There are, quite simply put, no words to eloquently and efficiently sum up that level of stupidity.

So why even bother.

Meghan McCain Joins Occupy Wall Street in Making Little Coherent Sense

Meghan McCain is at it again, pretending that smarts can be bought in a box of hair dye.

Writing for the Daily Beast, McCain shares her journey through Occupy Wall Street, which “wasn’t as occupied as I expected it to be” and “smelled distinctively like marijuana.” She shares how the first person she ran into “couldn’t remember his last name” and the second was some crackpot prophet handing out fliers to “inspire hope.”

“But most of the people… had real stories of hardship and despair,” she continues. Apparently, that includes Yvette Vigo, a 45-year-old teacher who was laid of last year, has six children and “was lucky” if she made $15,000 a year.

“If anyone comes here and talks to us, they will know that we aren’t here for handouts. We want somebody to hear us,” she said, and declared that she’s in it for the long haul.

If McCain was prone to reasoning like an adult, she would ask the following perfectly logical follow-up questions: If Yvette Vigo has six children, where are they now, how is she supporting them… and where are theirs father or fathers?

That last one might not be the nicest inquiry to make, but it’s still perfectly relevant.

But of course Ms. McCain doesn’t bother with such details. She instead rambles on with about the same amount of cohesion as the subject matter she writes about, which even she (shockingly enough) has the ability to see “has no clear message or sense of direction.”

In fact, throughout the article, it’s completely unclear whether she’s pro-Occupy Wall Street, uncertain or hopeful. But with her middle school-esque writing style (Her Title is even “My Day at Occupy Wall Street”), she might do their already damaged reputation more harm than good, as she writes:

“The anger from Occupy Wall Street is coming from this simple fact: America no longer seems to be a place where you can work your way up, from rags to riches, from lower class to middle class to upper class. If people aren’t given a fair shot, how can they work to achieve their dreams? This should be the message of Occupy Wall Street: we just want a chance; our government needs to give us a chance. But through all the pot smoke and distracting costumes, I’m not sure if that message is getting out.

“As I was leaving Occupy Wall Street, I spotted a man who was attending the festivities wearing a giant cape made of tin foil. He was pretending that he could fly, but the tin foil just kept blowing around him, making an empty crinkling sound. He isn’t the kind of superhero that these people need.”

With that kind of reasoning (or lack thereof) – not to mention the other idiot things she’s said in the past – the liberally-motivated Occupy Wall Street can have Meghan McCain. Because conservatives have most definitely had enough of her.

Mom Shoots Would-Be Kidnapper: This Is Why the Second Amendment Matters

Let’s talk guns, dangerous subject though it might be.

Thomas Jefferson once said: “The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed and that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of press.”

And most of the Founding Fathers agreed with him on that point, as evidenced by the fact that it was in the Bill of Rights, guns and all. And, as Thomas Jefferson also said, that is because no “country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance… The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

In other words, the only way to keep government honest is at gunpoint. Literally and figuratively.

But there’s another reason why gun ownership is a right that every free-minded American should support.

Because, let’s face it, with far more money going towards “fighting” poverty these days than crime, the law enforcement-criminal ratio isn’t exactly conducive to a good night’s sleep. And even if that wasn’t so, police officers are not personal bodyguards; they can’t be around to prevent every single crime.

Crime like the kidnapping that would have occurred in Naples, Florida last week if Elizabeth Easterly, a clerk at a convenient store, hadn’t had a gun.

Easterly was apparently alone in the store with her two young daughters when a man who was “acting erratically” walked in, demanded money, grabbed the younger child and headed towards the door.

So Easterly shot him, saving her daughter from who knows what. If she hadn’t had that gun and the nerve to use it…? Well, the news annals are filled with examples of what could have happened.

And that’s unfortunately exactly the point. Criminals automatically hold power over law-abiding citizens because they have more resources to work with: both legal and illegal.

Guns don’t always solve that problem, but they do oftentimes lessen the negative consequences or even prevent them altogether because they put power back into the hands of those who should have it in the first place.

A thief is much less likely to steal from a store with a gun-toting clerk. The same goes for rapists, murderers and other undesirables… including corrupted governments.

The United Nations on North Korea: It’s the Thought That Counts

When it comes to the United Nations, expecting inanity is like expecting the sun to rise. There’s always a chance it might not happen, but it’s infinitesimal.

Today in particular though, the organization outdid even itself in demonstrating exactly what is wrong with political thought today. The Associated Press reports:

“Wealthier countries need to put aside politics to help millions of North Koreans going hungry from food shortages, the U.N.’ top relief official said Friday, renewing an appeal for assistance that has largely gone unmet.

“Speaking at the end of a five-day visit to North Korea, Valerie Amos, a U.N. undersecretary-general, said millions of North Koreans, particularly children, mothers and pregnant women, need help. The millions of hungry, she said, is borne out by UN data and by what she learned from visits to farms, hospitals and orphanages, as well as from officials.

“People’s diets, she said, consist of rice, maize cabbage, little else and no protein or nutrient rich foods.

“While she acknowledged concerns about whether the authoritarian government diverts food aid or underfunds agriculture, Amos urged donor countries to put the needs of North Koreans ahead of other considerations.

“‘This is about helping the people who are most in need. It’s not about saying that this country has made a choice about spending its resources in one way rather than another. We don’t make those judgments in other countries, on humanitarian grounds. There’s no reason to begin to do it in’ North Korea, Amos told the Associated Press before leaving Pyongyang.”

A recent news story illustrated just how bad things are over there with a photo of two malnourished North Korean children sharing a hospital bed, covered in bright purple marks. Adorable as they still were, the image of them suffering was literally sickening.

Yet even so, there are other factors to be taken into consideration, no matter how much politicians might like to think and act otherwise. The fact that any resources sent probably won’t reach their intended targets poses an enormous problem, as does the fact that, if the relief miraculously does arrive, it will be temporary at best.

It might put people in happy places to pretend otherwise, but politics not only plays a huge part in this disturbing picture, it is the main cause and sustention of it! And until North Korea denounces its poor practices, nothing is really going to change.

The United Nations, as usual, is leading the way by denouncing reality. And, as usual, little good will likely come of it.

I just received an email from a respected fellow 2006 alumnus informing me that you un-invited a Conservative writer from speaking on campus who might be “problematic,” but still allowed Frances Fox Piven to visit, a self-described Marxist and socialist who used her opportunity at Messiah to call the Tea Party racist and uphold the Occupy Wall Street movement as honorable, despite the latter’s short but noteworthy history of:

After completing four years at your school, I am unfortunately well aware that you do not encourage or respect dissenting opinions that come from the political right. While I can easily recount various professors who blatantly abused their positions to preach their political opinions during class time (occasionally for 20 minutes or more), I will only point out the chapel where Messiah College invited an anti-war demonstrator to speak about how anybody who supported the Iraq War was not a Christian. So I am not at all surprised by this latest invite (and un-invite).

If Messiah College had any professional or academic decency, it would be ashamed of itself for obnoxiously preaching one ideology instead of encouraging students to think for themselves. However, I know better than to expect such integrity from your institution. Please know, however, that I will not be sending Messiah College any money in the future, and will make it a point now to openly advise potential students away from your facilities, as they can get the same unbalanced education at far less cost elsewhere.

What We Can Expect from Muslim Extremists and the Occupy Wall Street Crowd

Let’s see if we can somehow tie in two completely different but still destructive groups – Muslim extremists and Occupy Wall Street – together in one well-trimmed blog post.

Think it can’t be done? Well, watch and learn, grasshopper. Watch and learn…

Let’s start out with radical Islam’s role in the story of Gilad Schalit, an Israeli soldier who spent the last five years in the hands of Hamas.

Schalit was just released in a prisoner exchange swap brokered by Egypt, where Israel gave up 1,000 prisoners, including many convicted terrorists. This insanely unbalanced trade illustrates all too well how they expect us to behave: by bending over backwards.

And even then, there were strings attached, since Egypt first forced the captive into an interview in order to air Muslim grievances. Some of the questions they asked included: “There are more than 5,000 Palestinians in Israeli jails; will you help campaign for their release?” and “What has the experience brought you? Has it made you stronger?”

Since the Obama administration, is all about kowtowing for political points, first it favored the deal and now it’s backtracking a bit. (And then there’s also the little incident of Ali Reza Shahsavari, who started shouting mid-flight to Kansas City: “You’re all going to hell! Allahu Akbar!” which is quickly dismissed as an isolated incident instead of yet another example of how much these people hate us.)

But this situation proves exactly why traditional U.S. policy is to not negotiate with terrorists: because they always come back looking for more, like they already are in the case of Israeli-American and falsely accused spy Illan Grapel… who might be released from his Egyptian prison if Israel hands over another 80 terrorists.

Clearly, neither deal is fair. But that’s how Muslim extremists roll. That’s how they prefer it.

For that matter, the same goes for Occupy Wall Street: all take and no real give.

(Nice tie-in, right? Right?)

They’re peachy keen forcing others to share their property (i.e. wealth) but when their $5,500 Macbook gets stolen, suddenly it’s theft. Can anybody say hypocritical? (Does anybody think OWSers might know what the multi-syllabic, non-curse word means?)

Of course, this is also the group that hosts such people as men who expose themselves to children (Occupy Seattle), rapists or the kind of women who don’t mind falsely crying rape (Occupy Cleveland), and people who support storming hospitals (Occupy Atlanta).

With actions like that, they might as well just go join Hamas. They’d fit right in.

“Racist” Herman Cain Is Driving the Liberal Left Batty… Not That They Weren’t Already

Dig around in Yahoo a little bit and you’ll stumble onto an article by Kim Jacobs Walker titled “Herman Cain Proves Minorities Can Be Racist Too.”

The title alone speaks to Walkers overwhelming ignorance. And the rest of the piece just accentuates it:

“Political correctness is not Herman Cain’s strong suit. In fact, he seems perfectly comfortable dismissing black voters as ‘brainwashed’ and also doesn’t mind alienating Hispanics by suggesting we should just electrocute people crossing the border illegally from Mexico.”

Not black voters: black Democrat voters. There are some on the other side too.

“The New York Times reports Cain has been talking up a hypothetical plan to enforce U.S. immigration law with a fence the length of the Mexican border that’s ‘20 feet high. It’s gonna have barbed wire on the top. It’s going to be electrified, and there’s going to be a sign on the other side saying: It will kill you – warning.’ He further suggests that armed militia men can take care of any intruders the fence doesn’t get.

“According to the 2010 U.S. Census, 12.6 percent of the population is black and 16.3 percent is Hispanic.”

Is it just me or is she seeming to imply that all of those 16.3 percent are illegals? Rather racist of her, huh?

“That leaves 71.1 percent of potential voters who don’t yet have reason to despise Cain. What next, honky jokes ala George Jefferson – maybe a few ‘gook’ or drunken Indian references.”

Ok now. I had to look up what a “honky” was and I’ve never heard of a “gook” at all. How do liberals even learn these terms? And what does it say about them that they do?

“Cain says his comments were just ‘a joke,’ but not everyone finds it funny.”

Personally, I wish he wasn’t joking, considering what Texas Department of Public Safety Director Steven McCraw just revealed: that there’s evidence six Mexican drug cartels are now recruiting American children as young as 11 to assist in their illegal operations.

“Brent Wilkes of the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda points out that ‘to suggest that they would be electrocuted or shot would be to treat them harsher than we treat murderers or rapists.’”

In that case, maybe we should up the penalty for murderers and rapists.

“To Cain perhaps this seems like harmless fun, but how quickly hateful words turn into hateful actions.”

Who says that Cain’s words were “hateful” in the first place? And if she’s so concerned about such nasty words, maybe she should go address the Occupy Wall Street crowd, whose various members in various cities have called for George Bush’ execution, shouted anti-Semitic slurs, and swore people up and down who disagree with them.

“In times of economic distress racism becomes stronger as people look for someone to blame for their misfortune. Most illegal immigrants have menial jobs. They are the maids and laborers. They do the jobs most Americans don’t want.”

A common liberal line but in Lancaster, PA – where I grew up – it’s teenagers who do much of the nasty, sweaty crop harvesting. And the illegal immigrants are in the restaurants… taking jobs away from other youngsters trying to save up for college. Who is to say that wouldn’t be true elsewhere if more positions were open?

“Since they are here illegally, they are afraid to go to the police when they are robbed, and they can’t complain when the boss violates the labor laws that protect the rest of us.”

Since they’re here illegally, they don’t deserve the protection of the police or our laws.

“Cain is after all only echoing the growing anti immigrant sentiment. He is certainly not the only Republican candidate to do so, but Cain takes it further than most. Why so bold? If a white candidate said these things his campaign would be over. As a minority Cain enjoys more latitude to work outside the boundaries of political correctness.”

And whose fault is that? Oh, right: Liberals!

“Does he think that just because he’s black, no one will dare call him a racist?”

No. He knows that just because he’s a conservative, people will call him a racist.

Fortunately, Herman Cain has the integrity and the spine to not back down.

Occupy Wall Street’s Message: Blah Blah Blah, Chirp Chirp, Beep Beep

I really don’t like the winter. In fact, I dislike it so much that I refuse to complain when it’s a hundred-plus degrees outside… just because I’m happy that it isn’t the opposite.

Yet right now, this staunchly pro-summer advocate is begging God for plummeting temperatures nationwide… just because it would drive the Occupy Wall Street protesters back into their comfy, capitalism-paid homes so that I don’t have to listen to their pointless, oftentimes non-existent – yet always loud and obnoxious – messages.

Until God sees fit to answer my prayers though, they’re sure to stay busy hiring lawyers to openly blackmail the New York City legal system. NYDailyNews.com reports:

“Lawyers representing about 800 Occupy Wall Street protesters arrested in the past month demand that prosecutors drop the charges. If not, they say they won’t deal and will insist on going to trial – putting pressure on the already overloaded Manhattan criminal courts.

“‘I’d like to suggest to the DA’s office the appropriate way to deal with these cases is outright dismissal,’ said defense lawyer Martin Stolar. ‘The leverage is, we take them all to trial.’”

Meanwhile, their free comrades are – as usual – making little sense apart from their very clear vulgarities. For example, down in Denver, they’re advocating taking “the thirteen families that own the world – including George Bush and his administration – get them in front of the White House and hang them and shoot them because they deserve that.”

It’s no wonder such vindictive nonsense is inspiring China – a communist country and therefore one based on vindictive nonsense – to chime in with equally confusing drivel. Liu Weimin, one of China’s foreign ministry spokesmen said:

“We feel that there are issues here that are worth pondering. We have also noticed that in the media there has also been a lot of commentary, discussion and reflection. But we think that all of these reflections should be conducive to maintaining the sound and steady development of the world economy.”

Huh?

Obama, however, says he gets it all. And if Martin Luther King Jr. was alive today, he says the American icon would “remind us that the unemployed worker can rightly challenge the excesses of Wall Street without demonizing all who work there.”

Of course, our dear leader didn’t stop there though. He continued, saying, “Those with power and privilege will often decry any call for change as divisive. They’ll say any challenge to the existing arrangement are unwise and destabilizing. Dr. King understood that peace without justice was no peace at all.”

Which is why I’m hoping for an Obama-free 2013 even more than I’m hoping for winter.

America's Occupy Wall Street Movement Is Several Steps Behind Europe

If you go to Yahoo this morning, you might catch a news story proclaiming that the Occupy Wall Street movement is going global.

But let’s face it, America is actually late to the game this time around, since protesters have been demanding the right to free… well…everything!… in Greece, England, Italy and France for months now.

In fact, we’re not only late to the game, we’re far, far behind it!

Sure, Occupy Wall Street protesters have defiled lower Manhattan with their garbage – both physical and metaphorical – and ineffectively tried to beat up Wall Street “villains.”

Yup, Occupy Denver protesters defied an order to clear out from the Capitol area, where they were encamped for days, making an even bigger nuisance out of themselves than they already are.

And ok, Occupy Boston members may have harassed and spat upon a U.S. Coast Guard officer in uniform. But David Pendleton, a spokesman for that local chapter, doesn’t even want to claim those men as part of his group and even went out of his way to apologize for their actions if Occupy Boston was at all involved.

Clearly, they’re not the leaders of any worldwide anti-capitalist, pro-socialist drive behaving like that.

Europe, on the other hand – with its still not-so-distant bouts of full-fledged communism – knows where it’s at. When Europeans protest capitalism, they burn busses and attack police in full riot gear and overturn trashcans and ransack stores and cars and cause millions and billions in damage to both the private and public sectors.

And that is why the Occupy Wall Street movement can’t really claim any originality. It’s merely a less showy – though perhaps more tenacious, depending on how you look at it – version of European madness.

And let’s hope it stays that way.

President Obama, the Obama Administration and Obama Zombies Are All Insane

If you’re too busy to read an entire blog post this morning, I can sum it up quite easily, without giving numerous examples to prove my already proven points:

President Obama, the Obama administration and Obama Zombies are all insane.

We can argue for a very long time whether Obama is incompetent or intentional in his atrocious handling of practically everything. But either way, he and his are still nuts, deranged, off their rockers, separated from reality, cracked, batty, out of their minds…

You get the picture.

There’s no other way to look at it. But if you want to waste your time trying, then consider these facts:

President Obama apparently wanted to not only bow to his Japanese counterparts back in 2009, he also wanted to apologize to them for the U.S. dropping atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end the Pacific side of WWII … even though Japan was far from an innocent victim in that conflict.
Oh yeah, and he apparently thinks the answer to America’s problems is to build more Latino-themed national parks and order 248 counties in the U.S. to provide bilingual ballots to Hispanics for election 2012. Can anyone say desperate?
Despite this PC mentality of embracing everything and everyone in love, not war, President Obama has publicly sympathized with Occupy Wall Street Protesters, who are calling for war against capitalists and an uprising of anti-Semitism.
And speaking of Occupy Wall Street, the equally insane New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, just days after announcing protesters could stay indefinitely, told the ridiculous rabble-rousers that they needed to scram by Friday.
Meanwhile, fellow flip-flopping moron Joe Biden – who earlier this month declared that the economy was just peachy – warned that rape and murder rates – fueled by a poor economy – could easily go up if Obama’s “jobs bill” didn’t pass.
So since it didn’t pass, better stay indoors until the next administration is able to fix the economy. Either that or wait for Warren Buffett, “President Obama’s pet billionaire,” as Human Events’ John Hayward so aptly calls him, decides to cough up the $2 billion he owes in back taxes. If he does, I’m sure that the current leadership will use it to prevent such heinous acts in the future.

Just like they turned the economy around with all of that stimulus spending.

Newsflash: None of those political actions or opinions have much to do with logic. Therefore, logically speaking, they are insane.

And so are the people behind them.

Maryland Representative and House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer Blames Voters for America’s Problems… and Conveniently Ignores His Own Culpability

Blaming Republicans for everything – even in the face of overwhelming evidence that this is a Democrat-run mess of an economy – is getting old with a lot of voters. And tone-deaf Democrats might actually be finally – kinda, sorta, maybe – getting the message.

My own state of Maryland’s Representative Steny Hoyer – who also just happens to be House Minority Whip – had this to say the other day:

“The American people have every right to be angry [and] disappointed by the performance of the Congress. Of course, the American people have also elected people with hard stances, so that to some degree, the American people are realizing the results of their votes.

“If elections have consequences – which I think they do – some of those consequences are getting what you vote for. In this case, many people voted for people who thought compromise was not something that they ought to participate in.”

As with most liberal speeches, I can easily rip his comments to shreds.

Let’s start with his admission that America has “every right” to be ticked off with Congress. He’s part of Congress, isn’t he? Therefore we have “every right to be angry [and] disappointed” with him. It’s logic 101.

Then there’s his accusation that “we’ve elected people with hard stances.” Yeah, well, when we screwed up so badly in 2008 by electing people with unwaveringly appalling stances, we had to do something to combat their blatant disregard for American ideals, American rights and American citizens in general.

And if those “elected people with hard stances” refuse to back down from protecting their constituents, then more power to them! In fact, let’s get more of them in office… and less of the likes of Steny Hoyer, who says really stupid, Joe Biden-esque things like “If elections have consequences – which I think they do…”

Really Steny? You think “elections have consequences?” Where’dja learn such smart thinkin’? Did the American education system teach ya that?

Since his final comment about “compromise” simply parrots his previous statement about “hard stances,” I think it’s safe to leave my commentary at this point with a final thought:

Occupy Wall Street and a Tree House in Virginia

Who’s sick of hearing about the Occupy Wall Street group, with their underdeveloped ability to reason and their distaste for law and order, not to mention basic sanitary needs?

I know that I am.

I’m sick of them dominating the news. I’m sick of reading about irresponsible politicians coddling them instead of calling them terrorists like they would – and have! – the Tea Party (*cough* *cough* *New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg*). I’m even sick of hearing how they got themselves arrested!

Now, don’t get me wrong: If they want to behave so poorly that even liberal cities like Boston and the Big Apple feel the need to lock them up, that’s all well and good. Heck, throw away the key for all I care! Just stop telling me about it everywhere I turn!

With that plea in mind, let’s not talk about them. Let’s talk about ridiculous restrictions instead: the kind that the Occupy Wall Street crowd is so certain big business is putting on the lower classes, when it’s really big government holding the reins… and the whip.

Right now, down in Virginia, a middle class family is fighting for their right to build a tree house on their own property. Apparently they made the mistake of setting it up in the front yard for their two young boys instead of the back yard.

(Insert gasp of shock and horror!)

And in Falls Church, Virginia, you need a permit to do any such thing, which the Grapins didn’t know until after completing the tree house.

(The diabolical fiends!)

Occupy Wall Street demonstrators and supporters might want to ponder this bizarre case and what it heavily implies…

That a government system controlling enough to regulate the placement of a tree house is just as capable – and even more likely – of messing around in its citizens lives in more meaningful ways.

Occupy Wall Street Gains the Approval of Iran and Hugo Chavez

The Occupy Wall Street “movement” just picked up a few more noteworthy supporters.

Our own FORMER Speak of the House, Nancy Pelosi (Why does it never get old to write that?), and more-than-likely soon-to-be former President Barack Obama and his embarrassment of a running mate, Vice President Joe Biden, have all offered words of praise for the supposedly grassroots, left-wing group.

But now Venezuelan socialist dictator Hugo Chavez and even members of the Iranian military – who don’t speak out without the support of their sadistic, freedom-repressing government leaders – are offering up good wishes to Occupy Wall Streeters.

Just out of curiosity, what does that say when Iran – a country that just sentenced one of its own to a year in jail and 90 lashes for pointing out the obvious: that citizens there lack basic freedoms of expression – supports your movement?

Somehow, I don’t think that it says anything good. But that’s just me.

Personally, I much prefer to be associated with reasonable, intelligent men like GOP presidential contender Herman Cain, a man who used logic to call it like he sees it.

When a reporter asked him his opinion on the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations, he first pointed out that, “Wall Street didn’t write these failed economic polices. The White House did.” And then he followed that statement up with a perfectly reasonable question: “Why don’t you move the demonstrations to the White House?”

Good question, right? But don’t expect an answer from the protesters. They’re too busy chanting at each other very oddly, as they did in Occupy Atlanta, or having sex in public, defecating on police cars and making a general nuisance of themselves in New York City.

I really wouldn’t be surprised if their supporters were also involved in the dangerous bleach fight at my local Wal-Mart, which I will not be patronizing ever again. And they’d probably riot just as easily for Connecticut prisoners’ right to pornography as they are against what they see as corporate greed.

They’re just that mature. And ridiculous.

Friday Fun with Joe Biden and His Continuously Dumb Comments

Even in this dreadful economy with its 9.1% unemployment and the worst housing crisis since the Great Depression, there are still some guarantees that America – and the world – can rely on…

· Winters are colder than summers (despite the supposed certainty of global warming).
· Communism doesn’t work, as poor North Koreans are finding out the hard way.
· Joe Biden can always be counted on to say something really, really stupid.

That last one is perhaps the most constant out of the three, which says something considering how practically unbeatable the other bets are.

And he didn’t disappoint on Thursday during an interview, where he ardently claimed that Obama and he “have turned it around” when questioned about the U.S. economy. Clearly, he doesn’t pay attention to what his Commander-in-Chief says though because, if he did, he would have known that Obama recently admitted Americans are not “better off than they were four years ago.”

Not to be outdone by his own self, Biden went on to compare the Occupy Wall Street group to the Tea Party. “The Tea Party started why? TARP. They thought it was unfair – we were bailing out the big guy,” he said.

So… by his own admission, his big government policies favor the “big guy” over the little guy? Thanks for clarifying that Joe. We couldn’t have done it withoutcha.

Ok, yes we could have. But you do make it so much easier to recognize that we’re right and you’re an idiot.

Herman Cain Stands Up to Wall Street Protestors and Stands Out for It

Pandering to fools and criminals is usually inadvisable.

That’s one of the many reasons why I like Herman Cain so much. Concerning the Occupy Wall Street protestors – mostly a bunch of ignorant college students with nothing better to do than wallow in stupidity – the GOP 2012 presidential candidate said this:

“Don’t blame Wall Street, don’t blame the big banks. If you don’t have a job and you’re not rich, blame yourself. It is not someone’s fault if they succeeded, it is someone’s fault if they failed.”

That message might seem harsh but, considering its targets, it’s actually pretty accurate. These people are so set on casting blame for the poor economy – largely brought on by the president they all doubtlessly voted for – that they’re causing even more trouble for “the little people” they purport to be standing up for… as evidenced by their disruption of NYC traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge last week.

Really, it’s a shame that more of our leaders aren’t willing to take that “harsh” stance with other troublemakers. Instead, they pander to them.

Ohio officials, for instance, just banned all pork products from prison menus after a Muslim inmate filed a lawsuit against the state, demanding that non-pork meats be prepared in accordance to Shariah law.

Seriously? Seriously.

Meanwhile, our president is busy screwing over non-criminal citizens adhering to a different religion. Under new Obamacare regulations, all private health plans will have to cover sterilizations and even abortion-inducing contraceptives.

That means that American Catholics – and, when it comes to abortion, their Protestant counterparts – will have to buy insurance that runs counter to their beliefs. No exceptions, exchanges or refunds.

Yet this same administration apparently gets pretty testy when its own stances are criticized. CBS News investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson, who is covering the horribly botched Fast and Furious gun-running scheme – which allowed Mexican drug cartels to illegally purchase guns in the U.S., resulting in the deaths of both Mexicans and Americans alike – says government officials have been less than polite on the subject.

She said that, “The DOJ [Department of Justice] woman was just yelling at me. The guy from the White House on Friday night literally screamed at me and cussed at me.”

Classy, huh? It makes Herman Cain’s comments seem even more reasonable, doesn’t it?

BET’s Robert Johnson Calls Obama out on Taxing the Rich and Tells Him How It Is

For as much headway as President Obama and his fellow liberals have made inciting hatred towards “the rich,” let’s face it: Everybody wants to be in that category. So it’s all too easy to push that desire into envy, envy into jealousy, and jealousy into loathing, as if that insidious emotion will somehow hurt “the rich” and elevate “the poor.”

As if the decades-long War on Poverty hasn’t already proven the theory dead wrong.

From my own lower middle class perspective, I can tell you flat-off that I would love to have more money to throw around as I chose. If I were one of “the rich,” I’d move out of my apartment with its deadbeat landlord, pay off my student loans and buy a new car. I’d get a new bed, new comforter, buy up all of the available seasons of In Plain Sight, shell out enough money to attract the attention of prominent publishing companies so that I could finally publish my stories, take a few amazing trips around the world, pay off my siblings’ college debt, pay off my parents’ mortgage, donate a significant amount of money to worthwhile charities… and the list goes on.

But you know what? I’m not one of “the rich.” Yet. So instead of wasting my time reviling people who already are successful, I’m going to focus on changing myself… pursuing my dreams and making do with what I have until I can get there… rather like BET (Black Entertainment Television) founder Robert Johnson.

For (I’m assuming) a liberal (you don’t create something as godless as BET – or MTV, VH1 or any of their contemporary pop culture platforms, for that matter – unless you’re a liberal), Johnson hit the nail on the head when he went on “FOX News Sunday” to say:

“Well, I think the president has to recalibrate his message [about soaking the rich]. You don’t get people to like you by attacking them or demeaning their success. You know, I grew up in a family of 10 kids, first one to go to college, and I’ve earned my success. I’ve earned my right to fly private if I choose to do so.

“And by attacking me, it is not going to convince me that I should take a bigger hit because I happen to be wealthy… I’ve tried poor and I tried rich and I like rich better. It doesn’t mean that I am a bad guy.

“I didn’t go into business to create a public policy success for either party, Republican or Democrat. I went in business to create jobs and opportunity, create opportunity, create value for myself and my investors. And that’s what the president should be praising, not demagoguing us simply because Warren Buffet says he pays more than his secretary. He should pay the secretary more and she will pay more.”

And there it is: Obama’s “Tax the Rich” campaign shattered in three succinct paragraphs… at least for anybody who understands and appreciates logic.

Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkani Now Accused of Rape Instead of Christian Apostasy

Right now, there is a man – Pastor Youcef Nadarkani – who is on death row in Iran for being a Christian, leading Christian services, and converting people to the Christian faith.

Under Shariah Law, the law based off of a strict adherence to the Koran, none of this permissible.

Of course, according to any even semi-rational, civilized nation, practicing Christianity – or Islam or Buddhism or any other religion for that matter, just as long as it does not tread on other people’s rights – is perfectly acceptable. And so Pastor Nadarkani’s plight has gained international attention.

Now this case has been going on since last November, when the 32-year-old was arrested for apostasy (i.e. sharing his faith). And when he appealed to the Iranian Supreme Court, he was found guilty yet again for “turning his back on Islam” and “converting Muslims to Christianity,” and sentenced to death by hanging.

Yet only now, after increasing pressure from world leaders and organizations, Iran’s state-controlled media is claiming that Nadarkhani isn’t condemned to death for his Christianity at all, but for rape and extortion.

Now anybody who knows anything about strict Islamic practices, the kind that Iran most definitely adheres to, automatically knows that the first charge is a joke. Sure, rape in Iran is punishable by death… for the victim.

Women and girls who are sexually assaulted in Shariah Law-abiding areas of the Islamic world are far too often charged with adultery, a capital offense. And even if they never make it to court to plead their innocence, their male family members are considered well within their rights to simply take them out and shoot them for violating family honor, as if the victims had any say in the matter.

This is Shariah Law, America. It’s important that we understand what it is before we wholeheartedly welcome it into our schools, our government and our society like too many people are already pushing for… both the ignorant and the very well-informed.

President Obama Says America Has Gone Soft... And We Have

President Obama says America is a “great country that has gotten a little soft,” that we don’t “have that same competitive edge” we used to and “we need to get back on track.”

For once, he’s right. We have gone soft. Really, really, really soft, in fact.

My sister, a substitute teacher, had three of her students refuse to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance this morning, and none of them recited it. That’s a sign we’re going soft: when we train our children to disrespect their country for fear of causing offense.

You know what’s another sign we’ve gone soft? The fact that we would seriously consider crippling our military by significantly cutting spending there instead of on the entitlement programs, crony capitalist deals (Can anybody say Solyndra?) and ridiculous amounts of international aid we give to countries that hate us.

A strong country wouldn’t do that.

A strong country also wouldn’t legalize, justify and/or ignore the slaughter of its most helpless citizens, all in the name of “women’s rights.” Contentious topic, you think? Watch this and then tell me abortion is ok… I dare you… If you’re not too weak, that is.

We’re also a country gone soft when our youth can have a conversation like this one:

RM: “There’s a rumor going around that men are tougher than women! Oh please! Can you carry a 8pound baby in your stomach for 9 months and survive hours of labor? Can you cook, clean, and talk on the phone all at the same time…”

CC: Fuck no we aint dumb, we get the bitch to do that lmao jk hahahahhahahhahhahah”

RM: “aha not funny”

CC: “Don’t care”

A strong country treats its women with a lot more respect than that. For that matter, it also treats its men with a lot more respect, since misogynistic tendencies do just as much damage to men as to women in the end.

In effect, a strong country doesn’t act like we’ve been acting for the past several decades (at least), where we allow our government officials to take and take and take and give back as little as possible only to keep us quiet.

A strong country would stand up and say enough is enough.

America, it’s time to get a backbone before this “soft” country of ours becomes a country that isn’t much to speak of at all.

Herman Cain: So Much More Than the Color of His Skin

I already wanted to write about Herman Cain today. But reading Janeane Garofalo’s comments that “Herman Cain is probably well liked by some of the Republicans because it hides the racist elements of the Republican party” just sealed the deal for me.

Please don’t ask me who Janeane Garofalo is because – other than pointing out the obvious fact that she’s an idiot – I have no idea.

Further proving her narrow-minded stupidity, she went on to say that “People like Karl Rove liked to keep their racism very covert. And so Herman Cain provides this great opportunity so you can say ‘Look, this is not a racist, anti-immigrant, anti-female, anti-gay movement. Look, we have a black man.’”

Clearly, stupid really is as stupid does.

I’d also like to point out that grammatically speaking, Janeane Garofalo called Herman Cain – a black man – an “it.” In the sentence “Hermain Cain is probably well liked by some of the Republicans because it hides the racist elements of the Republican party,” the pronoun “it” automatically corresponds to the main subject: Herman Cain.

Was this an honest mistake based on a severely deficient education or natural lack of intelligence? Or was it a continuation of other racist remarks made by liberals such as:

· Harry Reid, who said Obama could win the 2008 elections because he was “light-skinned” and doesn’t speak with a “Negro dialect”
· Jimmy Carter, who referenced Obama as a “black boy”
· Dan Rather, who said that the case could be made that Obama “couldn’t sell watermelons if… you gave him the state troopers to flag down the traffic”

Who knows. But regardless, it clearly doesn’t describe who Herman Cain really is.

Yes, he most definitely is a black man just like I’m definitely a white woman. Both are something to be proud of but both are also rather out of our control so, in one sense, neither race nor gender matters all that much.

What does matter, however, is the fact that Herman Cain is a real conservative in the presidential race, certainly more so than Romney and Huntsman, and even Rick Perry.

He’s also a rocket scientist – literally – successfully ran several companies, and isn’t afraid to open his mouth and speak the truth. What’s not to love?

So Janeane Garofalo can keep displaying her stupidity for anybody who is dumb enough to take her seriously. But regardless of what she says, Herman Cain is still the man.

And America would be honored to call him President.

President Obama, Susan Sarandon, Michael Moore, Europe and North Carolina Governor Bev Purdue Showcase Typical Liberal Tactics This Week

Here’s an easy mid-week question for you: What is a liberal?

A liberal is generally a person who says one thing and does another, or says one thing and then pretends she never meant to say it as soon as she has to defend her position.

For instance…

Right now, President Obama is getting some serious flak for telling Europe to sort out its financial mess. Understandably, Germany – which, as the European Union’s strongest economy, is taking much of the weight for the IMF’s band-aid bailouts – doesn’t appreciate his remarks very much.

Germany’s Spiegel Online International had this to report on the situation:

“German observers have reacted angrily to the comments, saying that the US is in no position to criticize other countries, given its own $14-trillion pile of national debt and ongoing wrangling over the country’s debt ceiling. Others claim that Obama is just trying to distract attention from the US’s problems…”

Interestingly enough, amidst the largely Obama-bashing article, the publication pauses for a paragraph to admit: “When a US default was looming back in July… European commentators were quick to weigh in and give Obama and the US unsolicited advice.”

That’s because Europe is filled with liberals too.

You know who else are liberals? Really, really, really rich Susan Sarandon and Michael Moore, who both stopped by to support the Wall Street protestors this week, even though they have as much if not more money than the businessmen they’re so quick to revile.

And then there’s North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue – yes, a Democrat – who thinks “we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. You want people who don’t worry about the next election,” she said.

Local GOP Spokesman Rob Lockwood immediately responded with: “Now is a time when politicians need to be held accountable more than ever. Does the governor not believe that people of North Carolina have the ability to think for themselves about whether or not the actions of elected officials are working?”

And North Carolina House hopeful Paul Coble pointed out: “That’s a proposal that only the politicians that have worsened our economic mess could appreciate.”

So Perdue’s office responded with a typical liberal line that she didn’t really mean it.

President Obama Tries to Tell Hollywood It Isnt about the Economy

President Obama is officially back on the campaign trail, not that he ever really left it. He seems much more comfortable acting like a candidate without an ounce of responsibility instead of a president three years into his term.

This can only mean one of two things: He’s either a) an absolute idiot or b) thinks that we’re absolute idiots.

Personally, I’m putting my money on the second.

At a Hollywood fundraiser filled with pointless ninnys – like Eva Longoria, Danny DeVito and Jack Black – willing to pay practically $18,000 per ticket, Obama urged the audience to watch the Republican debates.

The President declared they show a “cramped” dream for the country, far from mainstream America’s desire for a “bold and generous” nation. “That’s what this election is about. It’s about values, it’s about character, it’s about who we are.”

You can practically hear his desperate plea in there: “It’s not about the economy. Really! Please believe me? Please? With sugar on top?”

If it really was about character and values though, Obama wouldn’t be president in the first place, not with the way he backtracked, flip-flopped, lied, misdirected, stalled and pretended to be somebody he wasn’t during the 2008 campaign.

Like the slogan read, it was about the economy, pure and simple. The stock market had crashed, companies were laying people off, and the financial and housing stability in the U.S., Europe and much of the rest of the world were in critical condition.

People were scared.

And they still are. Because far from improving since then, the economy has gotten worse.

Americans might have been stupid enough to elect him three years ago. But, unless things change drastically between now and November 2012, I can’t imagine we’re nearly as dumb as President Obama clearly wants us to be.

Obama’s Speech before the Congressional Black Caucus: the Translated Version

President Obama spoke to the Congressional Black Caucus on Saturday, urging them all but blatantly to support his reelection bid, despite the 16.7% unemployment African American suffer under three years into his first term.

“It gets folks discouraged. I know. I listen to some of y’all,” he told the gathered crowd of 3,000. But, he continued, despite the fact that “many people are still hurting” and “so many people are barely hanging on,” it’s time to “take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes. Shake it off. Stop complainin’. Stop grumblin’. Stop cryin’. We are going to press on. We have work to do.”

With President Obama’s abysmally narcissistic track record, no interpretation is necessary for this latest speech. But just for kicks and giggles, let me go for it anyway.

This is what he really meant:

“My reelection campaign managers tell me that you little people aren’t happy, so I have to dole out some lip service or I won’t get reelected. That’s why I’m going to use uneducated-sounding language such as ‘folks’ and ‘complainin’,’ so that I sound less of the elitist snob that I am and more approachable to you uneducated masses.

“I’m not really lying when I say that I ‘listen to some of y’all’ either. Not that I care about lying, but this time I’m not. Really. You see, I listen to anybody who tells me that I’m amazing or agrees with my policies, or helps me sneak out to eat that burger I want so badly instead of the green garbage my wife force feeds me whenever she’s around.”

“So what that I don’t care if you’re hurting economically? So what if I consider myself far superior to you common American trash? So what if I go on vacations instead of working to enact policies that would help you? Shut up and get back to work on my political plantation!

“This is the bottom line: We’re all black, and therefore you have to vote for me next year. Because I say so!”

Hopefully, for their own sakes as well as the rest of the country’s, African Americans will recognize Obama’s empty words for what they are and either stay home next November or vote for people who will actually do something about this malaise the President won’t let us escape.

The Problem with American Education Today

For all the trash I talk about the American education system, I do know some very good teachers who care about their kids. They actually want to make a difference, which is part of why they chose the profession they did.

Unfortunately though, they really are the exception to the rule. I speak from experience, since I was an English Education major through most of my college experience.

As a student teacher, I was paired with Mrs. M., a cooperating teacher whose high school (12th grade) classes mainly consisted of watching movies or listening to audio versions of literary pieces. Homework was practically non-existent.

Critical thinking was clearly not encouraged in that classroom, though she was still a better teacher than one of her colleagues, a young woman who, let’s just say, liked showcasing her feminine side more than her professionalism.

Weed out the lazy and/or sexually inappropriate, and we still have the ideologically motivated educators, who put their politics before the wellbeing of their students. Into that category falls the Texas teacher, who punished a 14-year old for telling his friend that he believed homosexuality to be wrong.

An education system that promotes such immature behavior in its leaders naturally produces equally detrimental results. Hence the reason why we have absolutely ugly (personality-wise, at least) and stupid people like Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who just urged President Obama to get tough on Republicans who “eat his food and drink his beer and leave [and] then they go and try to kill him.”

It also fosters a larger population that just shrugs its shoulders when authoritarian institutions are foisted on it for little or no good purpose. That includes the FDA, which Reuters reports just banned “the only asthma inhaler sold over the counter in the united States… to prevent the use of products that harm the environment.”

How much ya wanna bet that decicion has little to do with the environment and a lot to do with political affiliations and business connections?

We’re not doing ourselves any favors encouraging and even mandating such docility, even if it might seem easier in the short-term to just shut up and take it. It is that very attitude that is killing us as a strong nation, little bit by little bit.

Yet President Obama is only encouraging this bad behavior by giving states the right to opt out of No Child Left Behind – an admittedly pain-in-the-neck law designed by Clinton and passed by Bush – because it puts schools at risk of failure. His actions aren’t necessarily a bad idea; his motivation, however, is.

We need to encourage accountability in the American education system, not relax it.

$16 Muffins, $8 Coffee and $10 Cookies: Nothing but the Best for the U.S. Government

I’m a Panera Bread junkie, what with their menu of spinach and bacon breakfast soufflés, chicken frontega paninis, asiago cheese bagels, black cherry smoothies, and giant, soft-baked chocolate chip cookies, all of which I’m a major sucker for.

Problem is, Panera is a bit pricey and has gotten pricier as of late due to various economic and business-related reasons. So despite my practically constant cravings for something Panera, I limit how often I go to the delightful bakery/café to maybe once a month.

In all honesty, I can’t afford to be eating out too much, not unless I want to go into credit card debt, which I don’t. Regardless of the finer things I might take a fancy to, they aren’t even remotely worth the fiscal headache of not being my own woman.

And let’s face it: When you’re in credit card debt, those companies pretty much own you.

Plus, when it comes down to it, I can usually live without that dress at the mall – cute though it may be – or the entire DVD collection of In Plain Sight from Amazon – even though the show totally rocks! – or a shiny new car. Life goes on without any of those things and, the truth is, I might even be better off without them.

The government, it would seem, would vehemently disagree with my assessment though, at least concerning them. A Department of Justice report released last week shows the government institution “spent $16 on each of the 250 muffins serves at an August 2009 legal conference in Washington.”

Reuters expounds that: “The DOJ spent $121 million on conferences in fiscal 2008 and 2009, which exceeded its own spending limits and appeared to be extravagant and wasteful, according to the report that examined 10 conferences held during that period.”

“Appeared to be extravagant and wasteful?” “Appeared!”

Pricey Panera charges less than $5 for its muffins and less than $2 for its cookies, which are both freshly baked every morning using solid ingredients. What does the DOJ’s snack supplier put in their tasty treats? Top-notch crack cocaine?

A Justice Department spokeswoman assures us all that steps have been taken since then “to ensure that these problems do not occur again.”

But even if I believed that – which I don’t – it still shows an appalling lack of common sense and decency, considering the fiscal state of the country, the economic plight of its citizens and the high taxes they already suffer under… with President Obama calling for even more!

These people are insufferable and profligate elitists. Why do we put up with them?

Screwing the Rich Doesn’t Do the Poor Any Favors

I got into a political debate on Facebook yesterday over raising taxes on the rich.

It all started when a friend of mine posted: “If only we had a President that didn’t spark class warfare because less than 1% do what he generalizes they all or the majority of them do. Sorry Mr. President but as John Adams said, ‘Facts are stubborn things.’”

To support his position, he included a link to an AP story, which took issue with President Obama’s claims that secretaries pay higher taxes than their rich bosses.

Not surprisingly, a liberal immediately jumped all over that post, asking, “Why are you defending the rich?” And she later added:

“I support sacrificing the few to the benefit of all. To hell with the wealthiest ten percent. If they were as charitable as you imagine they wouldn’t be that rich. I don’t understand why some of the nations poorest citizens defend the wealthy. They don’t give a thought to the working poor.”

But her logic is as detrimental as she claims the wealthy to be.

For instance, while sacrificing the few for the many might be the right course of action sometimes, it isn’t always justified. And in this case, specifically, it just doesn’t work.

Just look at recent census figures, which show that – despite Lyndon B. Johnson’s War on Poverty beginning in 1964 – the 2010 poverty rate was the worse it has been since at least the 1950s. And that despite massive amounts of additional government spending, which has to be eventually paid for by taxpayers and the so-called rich.

(It’s also much easier to demand sacrificial lambs when you know you won’t be one.)

After wishing the rich in hell, our angry liberal above makes two claims that a) they can’t be very charitable since they’re still rich and b) they don’t ever think about the poor.

I’d first of all like to know how she knows every single rich person (if any at all) to make such gross generalizations. But even if she did, she’d still be wrong, since the wealthy give plenty to charities, which wouldn’t be able to run or run as well without their help.

Take the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation; the $37 million Warren Buffett donated to charities in 2006 alone; and the fact that Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand, Michael Jordan and Rush Limbaugh all made 2008’s Top 10 most generous celebrities list.

Those people are all loaded… and they donate millions each every year towards helping their fellow man. But even if they didn’t, this is the bottom line: They received their money through legal means, so we have no legal right to demand they fork it over.
